In the end though unfortunately, he had a quarrel with Gabriel Reyes AKA Reaper (Reaper was the hooded figure you saw in "Recall" reaction, the two used to Brothers in Arms) and in the aftermath of the fight he faked his death. Honestly the backstory behind each character, you can write a whole book. This is just a brief description, loved your reaction!!

loved this reaction, so many miss the fact that he followed her to see her safely home, and that is the big thing about it all, he never left her side until she was safe and didn´t even let her see he was still there, that´s what real heroes do, they don´t look for appreciation for doing what every human should do :)

I'd suggest you check the Origin Story videos as well. They are not as fleshed out as the animated shorts but give some additional details about the heroes.
