I brushed my teeth for over 60 years. On the carnivore diet I am taking a break from it since I don't eat sugar. Fewer aches, no really bad breath, teeth feel stonger and are coated with a healthy film, the gums form a point between teeth when before they were rounded, and gums seem to be a lighter pink color now. So far it's all positive and will continue for awhile longer. Thanks Jesse!
I had a large amount of gum recession, also had green film on parts of teeth, I fasted for seven days, have been on a low sugar diet for a few years and my recession has improved greatly
I went from 9 deep pockets to no bleeding and healthy gums!! You must change your life. No smoking. Little drinking. No mouthwash. Dry brushing no paste. Floss and clean mildly. You can begin with teeth cleaning every 3 months to interrupt the Bacteria growth. But you can stop that once progress is good. I learned all this from a board of American Hygenist member who was a great holoistic dental technician. God bless you Diane!
I had great success with my gums after quitting all grains/breads, no added sugar, no pasta/potato/rice and my teeth just felt cleaner for longer periods after brushing.
After 60 years of brushing, then going carnivore and not brushing much since I don't eat sugar anymore. I've found the gums between my teeth come to a point, whereas before they were rounded. The gums also are a brighter pink now.
I had extremely sensitive teeth. It was getting worse and worse, at some point I couldnt brush my teeth because even the softest brush and the room temp water was hurting. Went carnivore. In two weeks my sensitivity got improved. Now more than two years into being a carnivore, my sentitivity is gone, bleeding is gone. First time in my adult life I can dring iced cold water. My lower front teeth were getting apart now the gap in between is closed. I have a photo to prove the gap between teeth :)
Here is my experience: I am retired and 5-10 years back, when still empolyed, I noticed increased teeth sensitivity and I am sure there was some problem with gums receding. About 2 years back I saw someone on YT warn about eating apples and acidity of such fruit and other types and that one needs to be careful. I stopped eating apples totally but still eat pears as they seem to be not so acidic. Within 6 months, teeth sensitivity was much less and now there is none. My dental check is every 6 months and while in the past there was some plaque build-up in each 6 month period and some coffee staining, there is now none of that. Furthermore there was increasing case of teeth crumbling on edges of two front lower teeth, now there is none of that either. All is good. In rare cases I had bleeding of gums but that also is no longer happening. Note that I rarely eat anything sweet, such as cakes or ice cream. I only eat dark chocolates that don't apear to have much sugar in them. I have also cut out adding small amounts of sugar to coffee. Switch away from sugar happened long before removing apples from my diet. So, in my case, apples seem to have been the problem and that problem is no longer there.
@@SleeplessinOC Like I said, I saw someone talking about acid content in apples and danger to dental health. Now I have eaten apples all my life but I think my age has resulted in teeth being less durable, ie. outer enamel layer is likely not as good as it was. I could have continued with eating apples but would have had to be persistent in rinsing my teeth right after. I was increasingly aware of teeth sensitivity and occasional gums bleeding. as well as front teeth crumbling in the gap between. Change in the situation after excluding apples was quite noticeable. Even the dentist commented on state of teeth health. Now, why is teeth enamel deteriorating? is it my age, toothpaste? electric toothbrush? Too much brushing? Who knows! What also surprised me is that there is much less plaque buildup. This issue of acidity may not be the whole answer but for me it seems to be the key. There was one other change and that was switching from old Oral B electric toothbrush to a 'sonic' (high frequency vibraring action) toothbrush from Aldi but that happened a few years back and I don't think that was it.
I just saw the dentist, and he said I am grinding and clenching my teeth. He said the clenching and grinding is causing my enamel to break off, exposing my roots. He never brought up the inflammation aspect! I have lupus and deal with inflammation all the time. So, basically, I can't fix this if the inflammation doesn't go away.
Just wondering if gum recession causes gaps between teeth as one ages. I am 60 and a couple of years ago, i noticed gaps between my teeth that had never been there before. I have considered getting braces like Invisalign but am not sure if it will be any good. Thank you for this session Jesse.
I'm in no way a medical professional, but here's my experience. I am also in my 60s with a gap between two of my bottom teeth. Food ALWAYS gets stuck. So I have to use floss and/or a floss pick after every meal. Also, one of those two teeth started to bleed and became so painfully sensitive, I couldn't even chew on that side. So, because of the pandemic and because I hate dentists so much, our family dentist fired me when I was 12 (seriously), I was not going to see a dentist. I did a little research and discovered "oil pulling," which involves swishing either coconut or sesame oil in your mouth anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes. I did this daily, for 30 minutes, and after about 3 days, there was no more sensitivity and the bleeding stopped as well. So, while I still had, and have, the deep gum pocket, there was no more pain or bleeding! However... one day, the sensitivity returned. I did a bit more research and discovered that caffeine can exacerbate tooth sensitivity. So, I quit my 3 16oz mugs of coffee every morning and even gave up green tea. Though I had severe brain fog and no energy for almost two months, the sensitivity vanished and I have now been pain free for several months with no more bleeding. I should also add that I'm a carnivore and eat absolutely no sugar -- not even fruit or honey. As for what the dentist said, while it's likely true that after a certain amount of bone loss, gum recession, and loss of enamel there's no hope, from what I've read, other "dentist-hating"😶 individuals have experienced "regrowth" of different varieties. Also, if regrowth IS possible, it would result in huge financial losses for the dental profession. So, this doctor represents one "extreme" in the sense that there ARE dentists who actually recommend oil pulling. But again, it depends on the situation. Fortunately for me, my diet is healthy and I've always taken pretty good care of my teeth by flossing after EVERY meal or even snack; brushing carefully; and once again, consuming NO sugar! Good luck to you!
I'm 61. Finished invisilign around 3 years ago. Long story short after treatment of 2 years I had a lanap procedure and it restored the bone around my loose front teeth. My gums are also improving with xylitol use.

How can dry brushing remove plaque and tartar?
