Thank you for making this detailed video. It seems like the dynamic active stabilization is insane for stabilizing, but not for replicating gimbal moves where you have to move your feet. Now for gimbal moves that require no feet movement it seems super convenient.
Actually I think the push in and pull out shots while walking look really good. The parallaxing ones are the tough ones. It's just hard to move fluidly at an angle
@@nVuFilms I can agree with that 100%, the pushins looked great! Had the parallax shots in mind when writing the above comment. This was again a fantastic video!
Well its sony's magic there are a few things to ponder about. For up and down it has more MP pixels since the sensor is not 16:9 so d-act can do up and down without loss. Also we have to wonder what is happing between the sensor and the clear zoom because lets not forget its the a7S3/FX3 sensor so i internally its 48MP not 12MP.. maybe just maybe they for some things they are sending different pixels ?? The 12MP is mostly to make sure the readspeed stays high it doesn't tell us what lines are send.
If you look closely in the corners the vignetting sometimes pops in, which is what I would expect with an APS-C lens. But it was at least not a frequent occurrence.
I only hope they include the dynamic active stabilization to fx30's next fw update conaidering it is 6k resolution. And maybe make use of the full 6k resolution to reduce the rollingh shutter.
Thanks for the tests. I noticed a few times when using the apps-c lens with active-dyn stabe the edges showed on harsh moves. I have the ZVE1 and think it’s a great cam.
i'm curious: 10:11 - you have an APSC lens. that would be projecting only a 1.5x cropped image onto the middle of your sensor. So you're not using any more of the sensor than that right. So, lets just grab the full image - you'd end up with an image with black bars around it. (there'd be a circle but lets stick with the bars for example sake). Now you enable dynamic active stab. That crops in 1.3x from the main image. That still leaves you with 0.2x of black lines around your image, as you weren't actually using the full sensor. Now, dynamic active stab, doesn't just use the central part of the sensor, it applies a 1.3x crop and moves that around dynamically where appropriate. However, since you haven't used anything outside of your APSC 1.5x crop, the real estate that you're assuming it would use is actually all black. So unless you used a speed ring or something, I don't understand how you managed to get the APSC lense to work with Dynamic Active Stab.. At best, I would assume the camera just used a 1.5x crop and active stabd it. At one point, you do see the result of this in a vignette when you pan your camera as you turn around. Thoughts?
Not all APSC lenses are completely 100% limited to 1.5x crop. A lot of them has slightly bigger openings than APSC. Which allows me to use them with 1.3x crop with a slight vignette. If I use the APSC lens on Full frame... I would see a big vignette. You have to remember lenses are circular and sensors are square/rectangular so the lenses opening covers much bigger surface area than the sensor
Thanks for the comparisons, I don't think anyone would be able to tell that dynamic stabilzation isn't true 4K, unless they're pixel peeping. Btw, what's that little bag at 3:23? Does it fit the ZV-E1 with a small lens? I have the FE 35/1.8.
