Wow... I literally was just riding in the car with my husband and was babe I gonna try and be vegetarian for a week and here I am trying to now this literally happened seconds ago lol
I'm a paramedic. Trust me: you'll probably die WITH it in your diet than without it. You need 2 servings a day of protein. Protein, not meat. Just because meat has protein in it doesn't mean other things don't. Like pasta and soy products. Your body makes its own protein but won't make its own iron.
I don't know how old you are but is your mum really going to physically hold you down and force feed you? only you are in control of what goes into your mouth. My advice would be to compromise, tell your mum you wish to cut out red meat but your willing to still eat fish and chicken, after your mum sees no ill effects she will be much more willing for you to then cut chicken and fish (some vegetarians don't class fish as a meat, I personally disagree) or say you're going to cut meat 5 days of the week or 3 weeks of the month, a slow phasing out of meats is much better for you in this situation than just going cold turkey. Also show your mum you're serious by educating/vegucating yourself about vegetables because the first question she is going to ask is "Where are you going to get your proteins from?" it would be good to come back with an intelligent answer regarding, just for example nuts and beans. Good luck with your journey and keep us informed. P.S get ready for absolutely everyone you know to try and tempt you to go back eating meat again.
Mine would have held me down. She made me sit at the table for hours because I couldn't eat liver, then got furious when I got sick after eating a few bites of cold liver. I thank God every day that a medication I'm taking makes it impossible for me to eat organ meat. The doctor told me don't eat organ meat on this medication.
Main reason i went vegetarian is because i was sick of eating chicken nuggets and sausages etc and biting into small chunks of bones and chewy crap. It was disgusting. Also now i'm glad to be doing my health and the environment a favour.
I'm barely under a minute into this video but I just want to say congrats on all the school!! I love seeing empowered women educating themselves and teaching others Yesssss girls 💕
Background music doesn't usually bother me, but this made me crazy. I enjoyed your presentation but it was really really hard to concentrate with that music. Really, if your info is good, no music detractions are necessary. IMO. Really, you are lovely and articulate. Thank you.
I am only on week two of becoming a vegetarian. I decided to do this after watching several documentaries (Fed Up, Food Inc, and Supersize Me) seeing how animals are treated and how the food is processed was eye opening. I do NOT want that stuff in my body. You ladies are amazing! I'm so happy I came across your channel.
It was really comforting to get sound diet advice from someone who literally went to school for it! And I really enjoyed the fact that your video lacked the snobbery that I am finding in SO many vegan/vegetarian channels which I find quite off putting.
I think it is nice you have such an open approach, not judging meat eaters..in a field where there are a lot of boring talks full of overwhelming information , i thought you are doing a brilliant job explaining what to eat!!! Thank you so much!! I am a vegetarian who needs to learn what to eat!!
So great of you do a video on how to be a HEALTHY vegetarian because just eating things that aren't meat doesn't always equal healthy. Great video ladies!
Why am I just now discovering you guys channel. I love you guys Ive been a pescetarian for over a year and you guys have given such great tips that I truly need. You have a new happy subscriber. Thank you!
I'm so glad I found your channel! I've been thinking a lot about going vegetarian but I didn't know where to begin. I'm looking forward to your videos and learning how to cook healthy and nutritious foods.
YOU GIRLS ARE LIFE SAVERS! I have been wanting to try phasing out most of my meat and eat a plant based diet and your video was perfect. I have already phased out red meat so now its time to take the final step. Thank you girls. xoxo Gabby
Thanks ladies! I really need a clear explanation of how to successfully become a vegetarian. I have been struggling with energy levels since becoming a vegetarian. I hope making these changes will help. You guys are the best!
Thanks ladies!! I almost turned it off but I'm glad I didn't because you two were describing me!! I am a vegetarian and tend to skip meals because there is nothing to eat and I rarely crave anything. I don't care for soy anything though so it's more challenging.
I recently stopped eating meat just to try it out, it's been over a week and I feel great. I don't even miss it. Thanksgiving is coming up though so I'll see how it goes.
Thank you so much for putting this out here! I just switched over to being a vegetarian and I have been having a lot of trouble figuring out what I need. This was really beneficial! You guys rock!!
Great video, however, I have to point out this video is more geared towards vegans as opposed to vegetarians. The key difference being, the latter can consume dairy products and eggs, whilst the former doesn't. Milk and eggs are crucial in a vegetarian diet I'm sure, do you have any material on that? Thanks!
I don’t think these amazing women will ever know that I bumped into this video 4.5 years ago and have been Vegetarian ever since. Best decision of my life! ☺️
Congratulation to the both of you ladies on your educational success. I am transitioning in becoming a vegetarian and found this video to be very insightful! It feels wonderful that I found two individuals who have an actual educational background in nutrition. Keep up the good work.
I really want to become a vegetarian! (Not vegan) these videos are really helpful. I feel its important to take care of your body, so thanks for the video!
Omgthank you so much for this video! For someone like me who's a Hispanic ethnicity you know our diet is very meat heavy. I've been trying to figure out ways to cut a lot of my meat consumption down to where I rarely need to eat meat, but I of course had no idea how or where to start. The one thing I didnt want to do was to go into this change head first and then go back to binge on meats. I appreciate the breakdown of this video, and leading me in the right direction to start a healthy new beginning! Wish me luck!
I love the videos because you both are so knowledgeable about being vegetarian. Thank you seriously for breaking it down. I'm becoming vegetarian, my concern is making sure I get all the nutrients to stay healthy. Love the videos!!!!!!!
Finally, someone with a degree who I can trust with my diet. Doctors insist in shoving meat down your trough :/ great job girls, you just earn a new subscriber C:
I should have had a pen and paper. Alot of great info! Tried being a vegetarian years ago, but definitely did it the wrong way. Toying with the idea again since I am tired of meat and processed foods.
I just wanted to say thank you so much! This video is so informative and it's helped a lot! I love that you two went into the vitamins to watch out for and how to get them! Also y'all are super cute, love the channel
Yesterday I was thinking about becoming a vegan. I did some researched & I was happy with what I found. So today I started watching RUclips videos about what to eat and stuff so I found you guys, & your really helped me. I'll be looking forward to start. I'll totally subscribe! I love you guys! Your amazing. Thank you
thank you so much for this, i became vegerterian last month and i have been eating a lot of veggie burgers and have been worried about how much iron/protien im getting so this was super helpful xx
I really want to become vegetarian because I recently found out the cruel abuse that animals go through before being fed through fast foods or packages in stores. The only problem is I'm only 13 and well my dad loves meat, how do I convince him buy groceries so I can go on a no meat lifestyle. We normally don't buy healthy foods, and we have meat with every meal so I don't really know how to make the transition without being able to have access to the resources needed. Any advice??
Just talk to him. Thats what i did. You will have to put up with jokes but eventually he will realize that your serious about it and support you even though he is still eating meat.
Alex ste I didn't really talk to him, just whenever we went out I told him I don't want meat or when he cooks food I didn't eat it. He got mad at me a lot but ever since December 7th I haven't eaten meat and I can tell he's accepting it more.
remember, vegan isn't the same with vegetarian. meat isn't the only product you can get from animals, so if you're switching to a different diet/lifestyle for animal cruelty reasons, you're also gonna have to cut off your dairy (milk, cheese, etc.) and limit yourself to a plant-based only diet. best to try talking to your mom about it, because it could be a hassle that she has to make something different and make more considerations just for you.
Thank you for the video. I'm a breast cancer survivor like 3 weeks ago. I had my last chemo. Now I found out I have a fatty liver. So my body has had enough.
Thank you for posting this vid! There are a lot of unhealthy vids going around on youtube for unbalanced diets concerning veggie eaters. I am not a vegetarian, but extremely low meat for personal reasons. I like checking out different or creative recipes outside my norm and would run into some really bad vids. So thanks for being a voice of reason in the veg only community!
THX 4 this been vegetarian 4 almost 4 years and I have been doing all the bad habits of eating junk food, not eating, &processed veggie burgers and it started taking its toll on my body. Now, I'm gonna stack up on some soy milk, beans, plantain, and almonds. Thanks for the advice
I am new into the vegetarian world and just located your channel. your knowledge is amazing. Because you both are very soft spoken, the music distracts from what you are saying. It seems the tone of the music is almost equal to your voices. I hope I didn't offend anyone.
Hi girls, i just found your channel. i am still occasional meat eater, but hopefully i ll become full time vegetarian one day. I just could'n stop steering at your skin, girls, its so glowing and spotless, I noticed most of vegetarians have gorgeous skin and young appearance. I ll stay tuned and best of luck for you both!
Hi beautiful ladies! Love your video. I hope to be vegetarian in the near future. My 18 year old daughter turned vegetarian a month ago and she has my full support. I'm so proud of her!
For me (vegetarian) I have a hard time getting enough vitamin e, d, choline (except on weekends when I generally eat eggs), and omega 3 so I take daily supplements for these. I also make conscious food choices to get enough potassium
You are so right about the pitfalls you encounter when you first become veg. I went through the carb thing, and then I started thinking it was okay to just put cheese on everything :) One thing I'd tell people trying to go veg: it's important to choose health professionals that support vegetarianism. If your MDs/RDs think you can only be healthy eating meat, they won't provide you with necessary support and that will affect your overall health. Luckily, mine were supportive but I've seen what happens when they aren't, too.
Right totally agree! Research says that it is TOTALLY possible to be healthy, even for kids. It's all about the choice that works best for the individual. Thanks for your comment!
We love you gurls. And believe me I've never said that on youtube before. I'm almost 60 (but I look great)! I'm healthy but my doctor's threatening to put me on high blood pressure medication. I'm going to give myself 6 months to get myself under control or I'll submit to taking pills. Presently taking no medication for nothing. That seems to be practically unheard of in my community. Anywho. You were right on time, because one of my New Year's Resolution's is to cook good and tasty food, but that it has to be healthy! Thank you for posting. I pray much success to you in your professional journey. Much love. Ginger Tansil
I was vegeterian for 5 months and I lost 25 lbs but now I have low blood pressure and I get dizzy really easily so I stopped , now im going back but this time ill do it right ! thx for ur help :)
definitely see a doctor you don't want to mess around with blood pressure you might have had the issue due to losing water weight the first thing my doc did to lower my pressure was put me on a water pill you might have lost too much fluid causing a drop in pressure.
LOVE! I recently started just looking around at transitioning to vegan as a healthier lifestyle and I think the information you ladies have put out in this video is a great start for me. I have subscribed and will be following for more great information! Thanks!!
Im not a vegetarian but im considering it because i want a better lifestyle. Ill admit, i love meats, but i know it isnt a good way of life so thats why im deciding to change my ways :) loved the video, so happy someone knows what theyre talking about. It was very helpful thanks😁
How I became a vegetarian:
I was staring at a wall and I was like I should try not to eat meat for a week. I've Been a vegetarian for 4-5 years xD
Erza Scarlet I
Still vegetarian?

How do you started?
Wow... I literally was just riding in the car with my husband and was babe I gonna try and be vegetarian for a week and here I am trying to now this literally happened seconds ago lol

Andrometus 🙏
Thank you
Thank you! :)
Jesus Christ. It takes half the video to get to the video.
Andrometus thank you! !!!
I'm going to go vegetarian but probably my biggest obstacle is convincing my mom that I'm not going to die without meat in my life *sigh*
the struggle is real
I'm a paramedic. Trust me: you'll probably die WITH it in your diet than without it.

very useful for starting
I really want to become vegetarian because I recently found out the cruel abuse that animals go through before being fed through fast foods or packages in stores. Kalysta Jeffrey Don't give up. The more you stick to your guns the easier it will become.
I've been Vegetarian for a month now lol, I'm going to never eat meat again
Thank you for the video. I'm a breast cancer survivor like 3 weeks ago. I had my last chemo. Now I found out I have a fatty liver. So my body has had enough.

thank you for the love!
About to transition to be a vegetarian. I youtubed it, and here I am. I will be subscribing.

I'm a new subscriber and I already love the videos! These videos already really helped me! Xx

great job ladies!!!!!! congratulations with school! I am just starting to change my diet and your video is very interesting!
I am new into the vegetarian world and just located your channel. your knowledge is amazing. Because you both are very soft spoken, the music distracts from what you are saying. It seems the tone of the music is almost equal to your voices. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

good job
Hows it going?
Jessy Torres plus, raising live stock is not sustainable...if wish the average person cud/wud grow most of their own food...it's safer and empowering
on your Rd, and Masters, big ups to you, your almost finished with both!

Thank y’all for your help. I got a lot of useful tips. Try not to kill each other.
This helped a lot because other people in my family have become vegetarian and gained wait so they had to go on a diet
