I know it's probably not advisable, but I did the entirety of both lenses, instead of just the scratch spots. Since this stuff is an abrasive, I wanted it to evenly do whatever it was going to do to the entire lens, instead of just wearing down one spot on the scratch. (I used a microfiber lens cloth.) I think it improved the lenses all over, even the spots that needed fixing, and I didn't notice until afterwards that it cleared them up.
Worked like a charm. No damage done. My Quest 2 lenses seem as clear as when I bought them, now!
I was thinking about that as I was watching the video. Glad to hear it worked out
Tried Polywatch literally yesterday after my glasses damaged the right lens. I would say that after 5 gentle applications, cleansing with IPA wipe between each clean, has removed it. I am honestly impressed.
It’s good stuff!
I'd think that, since it's not recommended to use cotton cloth to clean the lens, it's probably not the better idea to use a cotton swab to buff it either. I think it would be better to use the microfiber cloth to remove the scratch.
Those rings are a life saver! Sadly Majority of people aren't going to even know they exist until it's too late and circumstances lead them to your video.
Happen to me not to long ago just got the stuff today. Hoping for the best.
Wow! I wish I had this awesome information when I actually scratched both lenses with my glasses. I followed your recommendations and purchased all that you shared. The polyscratch worked GREAT.
Watched this video even though it came out a year ago and my god this truly does work had a couple scratches on my oculus and it polished them out I do recommend it as well 10/10. Not only do you have to use it for oculus it has many other purposes as well.
Thanks again for putting this video up brother!
Came across this and honestly think it’ll work on my glasses. I help on a farm so they’re scuffed to oblivion with tons of tiny scratches. Getting hard to see
This actually worked, removed the scratch. Now I dont have that little annoying blur mark in the left lens.
I've got the same blur mark on my PSVR2 left lens also. Just bought this.
Did it work??@@suicidemiami
It was scary at first, but holy shit it works really great after all!
I just cautiously using gentle force and a very tiny bit of it!
Thanks for this info and links for the lens bumper guards! I just received mine brand new and was concerned about my glasses rubbing. So did a quick search before using the headset to see if it was an issue, and sure enough this vid was the first on the list. So glad I did as this saved me from causing the problem to start with! I have them ordered along with a face cover kit. Well worth waiting an extra day or so before trying it out.👍
Thank you so much. I wish I had seen this video before I ordered the VR lenses. (For the bumpers) i am gonna order the Polywatch now!!! My glasses and my Oculus are a mess.
Can you let me know if the poly watch works I just got my quest 2 and I put the headset on before adding the spacer and I believe when I did that it scratched my left lense right in the middle I'm saying this because the only time I touched the lenses is with the fiber cloth and I just got the headset on the 9th.
@@thepcgamer7678 so I just tried it on my regular eyeglasses first because I didn't wanna mess up my Oculus anymore than it already is. I DID NOT see any improvement in my glasses at all. Sooo bummed. However...the VR wave lenses are fabulous.
@@melissa-fs2hq does your glass made of plastic/polycarbonate? I heard a lot people got very good result applying polywatch on Quest 2 lens but worst on their glass because of material differences.
@@balloftitanium3961 that's a great question. I really don't know the answer to that. Maybe that's why it didnt work?
@@melissa-fs2hq I read on another video that it doesnt work on glasses!
I just did same b4 seeing u ordered rubber bumpers i got some polywatch and rubber bumpers on the way i already use a glasses adapter on top the one that came with the headset and stil managed a small scratche top left of right eye so doing these steps to fix and prevent😊
About to try both products out, ill get back to you in a few days and let you know how it went
Had some pretty large scratches so it's taking more effort but I'm getting there
@@Furiac. update
@@shelbyyyy.s it worked pretty well
@@Furiac. i’m scared i got an oculus from a guy who said it had no damage but there are scratches on the lenses i don’t want to make it worse
@@shelbyyyy.s the scratches I had were a few centimeters and mostly surface level. Idk if it will work for deeper/bigger scratches, but if you can't play right now, then there's no harm in trying. Good luck!
bought one a year ago and my lil brother uses it every day, he wears glasses as well i'm going to order the poly and some accessories i hope it works well
did it? :)
I just bought a used pair. Still paid $220 for a 256gb model. Turns out they are scratched. The guy wore glasses so I’m assuming that’s what happened. It looks like scuffs though. Little foggy spots so I’m assuming that happened from glasses or he tried to repair them already. I can’t believe they don’t sell replacements or offer a send in lens replacement for a fee of course. I’m pretty bummed. They were gonna be a gift for my kids. Do you notice any distortion or anything from using poly watch? It’s obviously an abrasive and your removing material so I’m nervous to try it.
I would definitely try using the poly watch. Very well may fix the issue. I really don’t notice any issues with my lenses after repairing them. Guess it just depends on how large of an area of the scratches are. Good luck!
Well guy?? How did it go
Did it work
Did it work?
Did it work
Curious, was your scratch deep enough to feel the scratch through a microfiber cloth? I have a tiny one like that on the right lense. Wondering if this product would fix that or is it just for surface level blemishes?
Honestly I don’t remember how deep it was. It’s worth trying for less than $10. A lot of people have gotten great results. Good luck!
Idk how but I have 2 scratches on my headset.
Maybe pests maybe the microfiber cloth maybe the trash bang I use to block the headsets from light when I take it with me somewhere.
Defetintly picking up some sort of case before I get anymore
it seems like it taking him a long time to put it on. but doing it so the camera can see it is harder than you would think.
Just bought some polywatch. I've got two scratches from my big Dahmer frames...
the spacer is really what caused mine too I dont know why they give the spacers with the oculus
Has this affected any visuals for anyone? Like is there any distortion in the gameplay after polishing?
Well done. A great help.
suitable for quest 1?
Thank you so much!
I HAVE QUESTION!! - can i use (glasses) MicroFiber Cloth to clean lenses??????????
That’s exactly what I use on mine all the time and have not had any problems.
@@lookwhatifoundmedia ok. will it remove' fog from lenses??'
No the polywatch will not prevent the lenses from fogging up but I think there are products that might be able to do that. I know there are fans you can attach to the headset and different face plates that allow better ventilation.
I used Car Polish, worked just as well.
I was wondering that too. Headlight polish compound 🤔
Thank you!!!
I think that the teason u dont see it with ur glasses is because it has it 2
does it work on pico neo 3 lenses?
Question the stuff you put on that one spot did it fix the whole lens or just one spot?
I only had one small spot and it fixed it. The entire lens wasn’t damaged so I didn’t need to apply it to the whole lens. It worked well for me.
@@lookwhatifoundmedia so I have some micro scratches all around how would I apply the solution for that?
I think it would work very well for that. I had a very noticeable scratch and it polished it completely out and now I can’t even see it.
I usually wear the spacer because my eyelashes are long lol
Hi. My lens has a crack. I got a replacement from Aliexpress but I cant see an easy way of replacing the damaged one. Opened the cover and I see that the lenses are mounted on a railing system that looks quite scary to mess with. I was wondering if there is a way to detach only the lens from its place so I don't have to touch the railing. Any ideas? thanks

How do you change the whole lens case
I used both the glasses spacer and the rubber things that were the max thickness and it still scratched the lens
So i think I'm gonna try polywatch
i really need help i got a yellow scratch on the left side of my lens its not a strach but its a yellow line its been there forever and i cant understand what is wrong with it please help
what about a few dots of (probably glass cleaner) ..not sure what I sprayed near my desk :( ... do you think polywatch would work on it as well?
Polywatch fixes scratches. If your spots are caused by glass cleaner, won’t they just wipe off using a good micro fiber cloth? If the spots are permanently stained onto the lens, the polywatch would probably work to buff them out, though. Good luck!
@@lookwhatifoundmedia yeah I was looking for solutions and I tried the cloth I can definitely feel the dots did something to the lens layer, I contacted oculus, luckily I am still under warranty and they are sending a new one.. thanks for the reply :)
Does it work for PSVR 2 lenses? I think they are the same material as Oculus
probably they both have fresnel lenses
but do good research and be sure!
Need anti scratch rings for quest 3, but i cant find them
Watch my other video about this. From my experience, the anti scratch rings are not needed on the Quest 3. There is more room in the headset and it's adjustable.
Can You Wear Glasses with Oculus Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 Without Scratching the Lenses?

What If I am having problems with rings on the lenses that make playing really hard
The rings is the type of magnification you shouldn’t be able to see the rings if you can that means you’re too far away from the lens
@@dkdjxuidiidhshdjzkzkz4805 do you know how to fix that because I tightened my headset all the way Till I almost couldn’t wear it and it was still blurry
@@gabeperales2242 if it’s been like this ever since u got ur quest id recommend the warranty.
@@elguero7890 I think it might be because I always used my glasses but after a while the rings kinda faded away
I’m nervous to try it, since they say it isn’t recommended for glass, also the scratch i have has been there a while and im worried the stuff might not work or make it worse
quest 2 fresnel lenses are made out of plastic
@@hangfry i take back what i said. the polywatch is fucking amazing, and the spacing rings are a godsend.
@@MrsRagePanda so it worked?
@@IAmYourReflection perfectly. its amazing, so clear now and ill ever have to worry about scratches again
Does it work for PSVR 2 lenses?
Îs this "polish" or "plastic"?
My lil sis has autism. When she asked me try my oculus how was I suppose to say no? Didn't think she'd give it back as scratched as my ps2 games 🥲
Hopefully polywatch will fix those scratches.
Rip
Thats why theres glasses spacer and i didnt know it
The rubber ring never worked I used it for like 5 days and nows there's a giant scratch mark on my lense that I can't get out
Does this work with the quest 3 pancake lenses
Someone else said this does NOT work on quest 3. It may actually damage the lenses so stick to the quest 2 only.
@@lookwhatifoundmedia bet
LOL.. did the same thing with left lense.. Came across your old video.. I have a few hairline scratches on my left lense and is annoying. I did this while wearing Glasses in Quest 2, PRIOR to getting persciption lense inserts. It's Like an annoying small smudge. What are your thoughts?
Polywatch should fix those scratches. It certainly helped mine.
@@lookwhatifoundmedia Got it in and just did it.. Thanks brother.. Was scarry at first, but yes. I did it with a quality quetip for 1-2min and gone.. Thanks again
“HOW TO REMOVE” *doesn’t remove which is literally what I’m trying to do*

I haven’t had any issues. It fixed the scratch on mine.
@@lookwhatifoundmedia I tried it and it couldn’t fix everything. Still better than not doing it I guess
The stock spacer (the rubbery bit) for me I used it for only 10 minutes just wearing it looking through the dashboard for apps and such and I take it off and I see sweat on it so I wipe it off with that in mind I say it doesn't absorb the sweat or at least not much and I get a rash while wearing it so I took it off and not gonna put it back on.
i need fo quest 3
Do not use polywatch on quest 3 lenses. Someone on here said it'll damage the lens. It works great on quest 2 but not quest 3 apparently.
The spacer is too small
I have giant scratches on both sides
You put in those bumpers the hard way. Should of just put the rubber first then just snap them on the lenses 🤦
Do not try this method with Quest 3! There is some coating on the lens which you will damage with PolyWatch as I did. Now the lens looks even worst and is unusable. If the scratch is small, leave it as is or try different method, but suitable for Quest 3 (I don't know about any though).
I bought Quest 3, 2 weeks ago. And being the idiot that I am, I scratched them with my t-shirt. When I play it doesn't bother me, I can still see everything perfectly. But it bothers me that the lenses are scratched. Any suggestion?
@@Brian-sv8kb, if you "still see everything perfectly" don't bother to fix it IMO. I had to replace whole headset, because there is no repair policy even if you want to pay.
@@dezmo701 ok, thank you
I wish someone would do commissions to fix scratches and other problems like a friendly repair shop for VR headsets since Oculus doesn't know how to do their damn jobs. -_- I don't wanna take chances. :( I'm bad at following guides. :( Will this also work on Vive and Index if you scratch them too? Scratches on lense suck. I got 250gb and it just got raised to $500.00 which is bs. So hope this saves my lenses. I love my Quest. :( Btw got any tips on how to keep it cool?
My stoopid friend played creed on my quest and scratched it like crazy.
btw I didn’t watch this video yet just saying
Would shining a torch light from a phone into the lenses destroy the internals of the lenses like you say? Woops, well, it was great having the PSVR 2 for a week :( RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always thought as long as the unit was off, there would be no issue. Oh man :(
