Stan Wawrinka is such a monument in tennis and highly underrated as a player and individual. He handled this kind of situation extremely well. It's true how some players got the pictures wrong. This is just a game of tennis after all. Don't take things too personally. It's the same way he handled the situation in the 2014 AO final with the umpire unwilling to admit his lack of proficiency with the rules. He merely stated things as facts, hardly any emotions at all. To understand how I got to Stan, I was looking at how Djokovic swept away Tsitsipas, Nadal and Federer in the AO and was wondering whether there were players who gave a tough time to Djokovic in AO. That's how I came to this man. I've admired Lendl, Borg and McEnroe, Federer, Kuerten et al but this guy's a magician with the racket. His only failing was he allowed himself to sink into the depths at times in matches. If only he knew his true talent, he would have dominated the tennis scene alongside Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. He's probably unaware of the only weakness in his game which you're welcome to analyse yourself.

Many moons ago, I attended an outer court match between Stan and Yhouzny. Stan hadn’t won any grand slams yet and was using a Head, not Yonex. I was cheering for Yhouzny. It was an outer court so quite small stands. Stan heard me and gave me a stare that shut me up pretty fast! I’ll never forget it. He went on to win the match easily.
I'm swiss and a Stan supporter but Tsonga actually looked relaxed compared to Stan. It's tennis and a lot to lose (or win) in a match like that. Pretty normal thing. I always thought that David Ferrer is relaxed but if he blew off form time to time I always remembered that these guys try to win and emotions are pretty normal...
I trained with a Frenchman once who knows a lot of the current French players. He said that Tsonga was by far the most arrogant and the worst sport out of that generation. You would think it would be Monfils because of all the showboating he does, but he said he’s actually one of the nicest guys on tour.
