Back in October I asked my gym crush out and she said…Sorry I have a boyfriend and I replied that’s ok I totally understand but added I just felt a connection (probably shouldn’t of added that) Anyway seen her 4-5 times in gym since and she ignores me or pretends not to see me and one time turned her head when we passed almost to the point of being rude! I mean flaming hell I know she has a boyfriend but is there’s a chance that much of a problem to nod your head and be civil? I make sure I’m On the opposite end of the gym now and don’t make eye contact But I must admit I do feel hurt as it’s rare I find a girl that attractive ie maybe once every 3-4 years! I’m told I’m a good looking guy who looks a lot younger I would just like to know if she at least secretly likes me back? She was in the gym today and I was amazed that she used a couple of machines near me although we didn’t make eye contact! It’s been almost 3 months now and I still feel there’s a connection there but in auras at least! I’m not desperate and I’m capable of getting other girls but I can’t seem to forget this one for some reason! What do think?

I was born in the transition of the technology age, so I was affected by that mindset. Most people around my age or older generally don't understand technology, so I reach for the younger ones 'cause they actually understand

I like older people, lone wolves and strong and silent types. Which in my opinion is kinda hard to find. You described me fairly well lol.
That's also me.... I'm a ISFJ-T, and at times, I seem quiet, alone and invested time with enjoying life to the fullest. I have no problem living by myself, because that's everyday of my life whenever I go to my classes. I can't make friends... but that's ok. Because deep down, I have family and I have God. Both are the most important people in my life, and I wouldn't give up anything for them to be a part of my life.

The "lone wolf" bit pretty much reflects my attraction to a tee. I really like shy girls, and I guess that "solving them" is part of the reason for that. It may also stem from my inferiority complex and the fact that I don't think I'm good enough for someone with a lot of friends, but whatever.
Ahhh, good insight. People do tend to go for those they see as "in their league," meaning that your attraction reflects your self-perception/self-esteem.

@@Psych2go I think I'm quite related to the attraction toward older, strong, silent, and nurturing partners. I grew up in a hard circumstance and barely survived. I've learned that I need someone who can lead and teach me more about how to live a much more complete life, to learn etiquette and social norms since I've never had any proper relationship with people but rather animals. I also have difficulties coping with new environments and circumstances, so I'm truly hoping for a stable, safe, and mature partner. My ex-girlfriend also had these traits. She was very hardworking, very silent, sweet, and good at listening to others. We had been besties and then I had fallen for her before we knew it. She adores my creativity and told me that my talents, knowledge, and versatility charmed her.
after watching this video, i now see that i prefer quiet people over more social people. i can see that im friends with a lot of people who fit the nurturer/strong and silent types, i fit in very well with the nurturer type, nice video! :)

The age-based ones are a little trickier to define, though, since I tend to project as much younger at face value than my actual age (there’s no greater compliment or confidence boost than the other person accusing you of lying for claiming to be five or more years older than they think you are 😂).

I think just as much as we are attracted to certain types of people, like these 2 parts disclosed well, we attract different types of people as well. And if you can develop on the aspect that, sometimes, the people we attract doesn’t match with the people we are attracted to. And possible reasons for that. 😊

You're amazed by smartness. And you want to feel less smarter than a person you like. That will make you feel protected, comfortable, feel that you have someone you can rely on.
It's also a sign of your own high intelligence and that you're kinda fed up with stupidity around you.
If you were in the environment of many very smart people for a long time, you would feel less attracted by the smartness itself and start to notice other characteristics. But it doesn't mean you would suddenly like stupidity 😅 you will just feel less stressed around ... less intelligent people.
@olyabutorina6869 I know I'm somewhat smart, but I'm not really fed up with people who aren't as smart (unless they're mean for no reason) but I do find myself enamored with people as smart as or smarter than me because it's really fun to have someone else around with a perspective I can trust. It's also not specifically intelligence that I'm attracted to. It seems it's, for lack of a better term, a prerequisite for me to be attracted than anything else.
This could be because, your parents always compared you to some other better kids, n u started worship them to be like them to satisfy ur parents.

Me being attracted to social butterflies but also someone who's the strong silent type lol. Some of these types can cross over. I like how social butterflies can easily form bond but strong silent types are dependable. I'm attracted to both aspects.

i just noticed a pattern in my irl or celebrity crushes, they're always extrovert guys who are charismatic and funny, but at the same time they have this creative, sensitive and calm side
i believe i like this type of guys bc i'm very shy, awkward and quiet around people, but i'm also very anxious most of the time and i always have a need for comfort and calmness

I am not a leader but enjoy company, quiet, emotional support and I want someone who can drag me out yet will be fine as I want to be share life and costs so I want to get this dinner or grocery trip since I offered.
It’s hard expressing what I want with someone who won’t take initiative in life or has a desire and drive to learn and care which is how a relationship of 12 years ended because she wouldn’t better herself be it learn to drive or get above a job she was comfortable with but hates.

First off, if she was comfortable at the job, then mind your fckin business. Maybe she had something she was hoping to get out of stayin that made it worth it to her. She has the right to prioritize her comfort. It’s a job. Not a passion. Driving? That’s not even a skill everyone has and totally depends on if you had to drive her everywhere and if there were transportation options around your city. If there were, then you were just pressuring her to have the skill because YOU saw it as a necessity. People don’t have to to accept that and you don’t come out sounding good in this equation. You want to be a hermit and have someone be all supporting for you and keep you company, but then you can’t match it. Support isn’t dictating and ultimatums. And it’s always some dude who isn’t that impressive being overbearing to compensate for what he lacks through his poor female partner. You seem like the issue in that relationship. If all you have to offer is telling someone what to do while they’re expected to be quiet, emotionally supportive, company for you then you’re not worth being with. You should work on your social skills and leveling yourself up so you can focus on you more than what someone else does, and stop treating women like therapists. That’s not our job. You’re supposed to have a whole support system and it doesn’t start with us. You learn coping skills, have a therapist if needed, spirituality, family, friends, figure it out

I think there is a significant difference between what we want and what we are drawn to. For example, I want someone who is social, but I usually end up with lone wolves. What the description of being drawn to a lone wolf is relates to me much more than the social one. Sometimes you can't really choose who attracts you.
Absolutely, attraction can be complex and often defies our conscious preferences. It's interesting how the heart has its own compass. What do you think it is about lone wolves that draws you in despite the initial preference for social individuals?
