  • How to Pitch it Closer to Front and Back Flags like a Tour Player.
I think that having a solid stock flight with a wedge is the key to better pitch shots for every level of player but sometimes you need to get it closer to a tucked front or long back flag. In this video James runs through the small adjustments necessary to hit these shots predictably and consistently. Keep adding tools to your locker!

Good of you to leave the bad shots in there. Those would be good shots for others.

Love the way you explain the not perfect ones. When you open the face what’s offsetting that to keep flight straight? David

James, I've just found your channel and it is fantastic, I'll be telling the other lads in the golf club. I appreciate this was at dusk with dew descending but it is so pertinent as it's deepest winter here in Edinburgh and there's no friction to be had at all. Can you do some specific winter stuff please - heavy bare lies and skiddy damp greens.

Deliberate or not, you have very ably demonstrated the variance in what shot is even possible here with conditions! great stuff

JR I can't believe it's 2023 seems like just 2 years ago you presented at the 2015 PGA show. This vid prompted a possible idea for your exploration, next book, video series. @1:05 you suggest that one trajectory might be better for the average handicap golfer say 10-24. As I recall your first video was from measuring what tour players actually do and then translating that to technique. I think if you measured how much difference one technique makes in scoring for handicap golfers vs various techniques you'd have another series that would stand up over time and help people. Thanks for my fav golf vids in the world!

Like @harrys8001 I'm very impressed that you did not edit out the imperfect shots. You exhibit what most golf teachers say "This is a difficult shot" thank you for reminding us how hard this is for everyone... even you!

James fun video thanks! Looks like your standard swing with most of these shots was about mid flight right? About how far are you coming comfortable hitting that shot - maybe 40 yards?

Up to 30 if I'm doing strict baseline. These have a few more power components added in to get the distance

I appreciate you weren’t concentrating like you would be if it was an individual shot in a round, but when a world class wedge player like yourself doesn’t get everything close it shows how much course conditions play a part in the outcome. I play with someone who beats himself with a cat o’ nine tails when the ball doesn’t get within 2 feet of the pin when he chips to that green 😂 Manage expectations, try your best and the outcome is what it is. Golf is hard. Top video, thanks Mr R 👍🏻⛳️🏌️‍♂️
