I am fortunate to have discovered Takis Shelter s few years ago and immediately began monthly donations. I am immensely grateful to Takis, his Shelter team and all the followers who help Takis run his shelter. The terrible suffering of animals in Crete (and all over Greece) still causes me to cry in sympathy and sadness when I watch this and other videos.
Each of these dogs are heroes , such capacity to overcome horror and forgive and trust again !❤️🩹I love watching them live their safe lives and recover at their own pace 🙏🏽🐾🏡

Takis is a miracle worker. For me every rescue is a BEST. What about the Puppy who fell into the deep well and afterwards helped that his whole family was rescued. Octavia at only two days of giving birth. Or the last 2 cases: the chained dogs or the caged dogs. Each rescue is amazing beyond Belief. It’s an honor to be able to dónate to such noble work . I am so happy to see that Rivers eyes are calm now. He doesn’t have that wide eyed look of extreme fear anymore. Although he is still fearful of people, he at least looks more calm and is happy in the shelter with Brook. 🥰
Sadly, I remember each & everyone, all shocking levels of abuse. How can people be so cruel & heartless - is beyond me. Thankfully, they are now either safe in the shelter or have found loving homes. How Teddy is still not adopted is a mystery to me, he is such an amazing dog! I'd adopt them all if i could, but my 3 adopted cats would noooot like that, unfortunately. Please people, adopt at least 1 animal from a shelter. Merry Xmas in advance :).
While some stories are harder to hear, every dear pup that comes to Taki have been traumatized by humans. There's no such thing as an unhappy rescue for these innocent babies who needed Taki so much. I will not forget these rescues, or all the precious ones we lost in 2024. At least they passed in a place of peace and safety. My last comment was accidentally sent before I had finished it. I was saying that adoption rates were down. Your shelter is overflowing, and yet more and more dogs were being abandoned in the most cruel circumstances, and yet you were being called on to rescue them and take them into that your shelter. Even if you don’t have any room, you were expected to find room somehow for them. This. situation cannot continue. I know you are building new areas but you are doing that to provide better accommodation for your existing dogs, and for yourself not to house the ever expanding abandoned dogs that society just doesn’t want to take responsibility for. The government has to step in and do something. This is is a societal problem. Not a dirty little secret that Takis has to take care of behind-the-scenes!!! Rosemary from Australia. ❤❤❤🙌🏻

How Teddy is still not adopted is a mystery to me, he is such an amazing dog! I'd adopt them all if i could, but my 3 adopted cats would noooot like that, unfortunately. Please people, adopt at least 1 animal from a shelter. Merry Xmas in advance :).
While some stories are harder to hear, every dear pup that comes to Taki have been traumatized by humans. There's no such thing as an unhappy rescue for these innocent babies who needed Taki so much. I will not forget these rescues, or all the precious ones we lost in 2024. At least they passed in a place of peace and safety. My last comment was accidentally sent before I had finished it. I was saying that adoption rates were down. Your shelter is overflowing, and yet more and more dogs were being abandoned in the most cruel circumstances, and yet you were being called on to rescue them and take them into that your shelter. Even if you don’t have any room, you were expected to find room somehow for them. This. situation cannot continue. I know you are building new areas but you are doing that to provide better accommodation for your existing dogs, and for yourself not to house the ever expanding abandoned dogs that society just doesn’t want to take responsibility for. The government has to step in and do something. This is is a societal problem. Not a dirty little secret that Takis has to take care of behind-the-scenes!!! Rosemary from Australia. ❤❤❤🙌🏻
