Wasn’t sure if you knew this or not but the “Phillips heads” are actually JIS screws and if you use a JIS screw driver it fits in those “Phillips” better than a regular Phillips screw driver
JIS screwdrivers are excellent for true Phillips screws as well. A Phillips screwdriver is actually designed to cam out under heavy torque loads. JIS is not.

The Stihl part #'s for: the "good" slotted screwdriver - 5910 890 2305 (has long shank and a handle the same as 5910 890 2314 and 5910 890 2304) T8 Screwdriver - 5910 890 2310 2mm hex - 5910 890 2306 The small square driver you rarely use (5910 890 2304) is for the Walbro carbs like the one in your hand @ 3:54. It fits down through the limiter caps to make direct contact with the screws for a better feel while making adjustments rather than using a slotted screwdriver in the plastic cap which can be easily damaged. It's also easier to use with the caps off and the machine running instead of trying to use a slotted screwdriver that keeps slipping off the screw. Unfortunately, it does not override the limiter caps they still need to be removed to make larger adjustments. Most dealers won't sell carb adjusting tools or limiter cap removal tools. Not only are they listed as "DEALER USE ONLY" you can get a huge fine from the EPA and possibly have Stihl pull your dealership license.
With the current political climate in the US, you can expect the EPA emissions poop to get even worse. California's beloved Gavin Newsome has already set the deadline for no new gas-powered outdoor power equipment sales in the state. He wants everything to be electric.
I purchased some tools about 4 years ago to use on the lawn equipment and put them somewhere in my old house and have to look around for them so I will have them handy when I need them. Thanks for sharing this information and I wish you a great weekend.
This is a great video for working on Stihl carburetors which I deal with at work on chainsaws. I was wondering if you might do a video on Husqvarna carburetors?
Being about two week away from opening my own small engine shop, and also the fact the 70-80% of the equipment around here is Stihl, I will HAVE TO get these tools, for sure. When I'm officially in business, I will contact Stihl Norway (they're headquarters are just a 40 min drive from my location) asking if I could possibly get parts and tools directly from them. That would save me a lot of headache and worries by trying to use a dealer. There are no dealers around me and the dealers here have a significant markup on the parts and tools they sell, plus the extra time waiting for them to get the package. Stihl -> Dealer -> Me is not as efficient and cost effective as Stihl -> Me Thanks for the excellent and highly important information =)
Hey Danny I tried to get these tools from two stihl dellers and they would not sail me any tools they said it was against the law unless you were a licensed mechanic
Great video - Thank you very much for your time and effort! Thats some priceless and valuable content! Do you have one for Husqvarna/Jonsered tools as well, or did i just didn't find it?
@@Urbicide No. They are not suppose to be selling Stihl Tools. They are propriety equipment only for Stihl and Stihl dealers. Dealer may have their agreements/status pulled and possibly sued if caught.

Thanks, this video is very useful. What is the best standard setting for me to adjust my chainsaw's carburetor to save more gasoline, may I know please?
Can an older carburetor (i.e. Walbro carb from an 026) accept adjusting screws with a hex head or micro allen? Also, can a chainsaw be better tuned by removing the limiter caps, and do the same tuning principles apply with limiter caps removed as with the caps on?
I don’t know that is all you need. I have a plastic tub full of tools that I use to work on chainsaws. The only Stihl tool I use is the little screwdriver that comes with Stihl saws. I have all the splined screwdrivers but I keep them in my roll a way in the shop. I like to run my equipment with the limiter caps installed. They sure are making stuff tamper resistant, aren’t they?
Mixture screws used to have springs & flat washers under the heads, which helped keep the setting from changing. A lot of newer, limiter capped mixture screws no longer have the springs to keep tension on them. They use the caps to keep the screws from vibrating out of adjustment.
Good video to show how corporations go out of their way to rip people off. Why the need for so many different configurations of needle heads other than to sell more stuff
Hi Dony🤗. As always great videos. Always learn new things👍👍👍. Do you know anything about this garden tractor western 11 36. Who made them. Think maybe it's made in the USA. Regards Lars from Denmark. PS Google.
@@circuitbreaker9001 Good to hear. I have a husqvarna that's 24 years old and it too has never been in the shop. I just replace the air filter, fuel filter, and spark plug when needed.
@@frogfoot198 Funny I do just the same. However I just changed the fuel filter this year. First time in 30 years. The one I took out was still like new. I do use nothing but #1 fuel in all my equipment. So every thing I have has never had any carbs off
There are so many on da toobe - bottom line is pull cord out, lock the wheel with whatever as long as it is secure so the spring doesn't go back, cut old cord, put new in, tie knots on both ends, release the wheel, job's a good'un.

I’m not sure a dealer will sell the tools, the EPA could be on their ass. Figures they make proprietary tools for their carbs. My HIPA set has none of those.
I feel that the reason some dealers won't sell the tools is that they expect you to be at their mercy of their service departments. It's not like the tools are serialized like a firearm.
