I was one of those who asked you previously about the Tycoon Slim - if you're going to review it (and you did!). However, I did not make it into this review. I already bought a Prusa MK3S+ kit - really glad I saw your videos about it a few days ago!
I just picked up one of these this week and I REALLY like it. It's not perfect but it is a really good printer. It's not an out of the box "plug and play" setup...you need to do a bit of tweaking to get everything just right but it is really well made a well built. I'm rather shocked. Firmware didn't match what was in the video. Mine was at V3.0 (?) but after firmware update I have these menus now. Original one was very basic like I have see on the tycoon max videos but the update has a ton more functionality and options. So far the only real problem I've encountered is that everything is printing in a mirror image. It has to be something in the settings though because if I use the same gcode file on my geeetech mizar it prints properly. I've gone through the menu though and I can't find any setting for this. Kind of baffling. Update: All good now. It was a firmware issue. Downloaded a new copy and reflashed and now prints are perfect. I REALLY, REALLY like this printer.
i also do have 3.0 firmware and mine printer just got stuck on X axis. It is like moving normally on Y and Z but has completely no response with X. Cannot level the bed now, or make some baby steps either. I just found out that there is only V2.1.3 available and cant say if it is the latest one, because it is from 2 years from now. Dont know what to do.
@@szymi3126 V2.1.3 is the latest firmware available. I would suggest disconnecting and reconnecting the X stepper at both ends. If no effect reset to factory to clear the eeprom (make a note of your Z offset first). If no help reflash the firmware. If none of that works then chances are you have a bad driver IC on the mainboard and sadly it seems these boards are no longer available. If the IC is bad you could conceivably replace it if you have good micro-soldering skills or know someone who does. This is why I prefer removable drivers. I hate to replace an entire board just because of one small part. Worst case you could replace the board and LCD and load the latest version of marlin. Might even be a great time to upgrade to klipper. A manta m5p_cb1 would work perfectly.
Excellent video but then decided to go for the tycoon 3D as they are on sale. Will subscribe to your channel as other reviewers seem more interested in hearing themselves talk rather than limiting their reviews to the actual product.
Not sure if you ever figured this out but you just need to add the G29 command into the start code in your slicer. That will tell the printer to auto level before every print but once you've run an auto level and saved the mesh you shouldn't have to do it again very often.
Excellent review as always Aurora 👏. I'm new to 3d printing and evaluating my first purchase. Can I have your opinion ? How would you say the ender S1 pro compares to the 'slim' ? I'm from a CMM background and familiar with cartesian structures. But they're super accurate using granite, ceramic and air bearings. I like the 'slim's Y axis rod spacing. That seems to me a better approach to robust geometry. The price is also significantly less compared to the S1 Pro ... appreciate your opinions.... 🇬🇧

I don't get the belt between the Z axis motors? With a dual motor Z axis it's already syncronized? I'm running a dual Z motor printer for years and never had sync problems. What strikes me is that design flaw where the X belt is not in one straight line from left to right, it goes up to connect to the carriage. How on earth can an engineer get away with that? The belt is getting tighter when printing near the far left and right of the rail. I've seen this on more printers lately..
Hello, very nice video. How you compare this printer to the quite new Ender 3 S1/S1 pro according quality of the prints? You said, the ENDER is impressive in this case.
I like the look of the kywoo but their are not resellers in the UK and I was going to get the prusa then saw the fl sun then saw the ender 3 s1 and now the s1 pro, decisions decisions, I'm leaning now more for the s1 pro as on paper it has it all going for it as a first printer but is it good or just hype

Aurora. Please i. Need help for slim to auto bed leveling before each print.

Only the X and Y Axis comes with TMC2209 Z and E are A4988.
