First look at the Kywoo Tycoon Slim. This is a 240x240x300 #3DPrinter with Direct Drive, Linear X Axis, Smooth rods on the Y Axis, Auto Bed Leveling (ABL), Silent 2209 Drivers, and 32bit. This 3D Printer is packed with features, but how will it print? This a beta pre-production machine, there could be differences from this machine and the production model.

Wow! This Kywoo Slim is packed with features. Think it might be my next printer 👍! Another great video! From assembly, to review. Your new style is is so clean, the graphics, and narration is spot on. Keep up the great work!
great video! Will definitely take a look at Kywoo for any future 3d printer purchases!
The less V-slot rollers the better. Someone finally decides to make full use of the colour touch screen's ability to actually show colour. I do like their signature yellow paint as well. Were the power connections to the motherboard solder tipped as I did not see any ferrules? Nice video John.
Yes! Less V-Slot the better! I can see their touchscreen interface evolving. All the connections used standard crimped style connections, no tinned leads. This printer is just simple, and has a lot more value with it standard features!
GREAT JOB JOHN! You're killing it with your videos. You have a personality that everyone enjoys. I hope you keep at it because you of all the new channels has a real possibility to go big time.
Thanks Lightspeed! I truly appreciate it 👍! I enjoy doing videos, and more importantly getting a 3D printer that actually works out of the box 😉
WoW!! That's some real clean stuff. Bravo, Kywoo
Indeed! Pretty effortless review 👍! Like a printer that works out of the box.
@@TripodsGarage That's the kinda machine We wanna buy these days, so we can print more, and curse less .. lol
Great Job on the video John. This Looks like a Great Printer.I guess the feet need to be slightly longer for the production unit to keep the stepper motor shafts higher off table.
Yeah, worked great out of the box! The feet need to be a little longer, or have timing belt guard for the Z stepper motors.
Trim the shafts. Seems they could take 5mm off and still have plenty for the pulleys. 🤷🏼♂️
@@OldCurmudgeon3DP - Agreed!
I like the "video game" callout tags. Nice touch.
Octolapse(?) in vase mode. 💪👍
Thanks! I have been using the callout tags in the last 3 or 4 videos. It takes a lot more time during editing, however I believe the results are worth it. During these last 3 or 4 videos I have been working defining my editing style. I look at my first videos, and I kinda laugh 😆.
Yes! Octolapse for the vase 💪👍
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Some of these low profile frames I've been printing a spacer for the feet, then use a longer fasteners bringing them about 40mm off the the table top. Seems to also allow for the power supply (if also mounted low) to get better airflow. Great video!
John another great review. This looks like a great first printer. The belt linking the two Z motors should help keep them in sync. It would be even better if they had separate drivers for each motor and used then to tram the bed side to side. At this price point they seem to have a great printer.
Thanks David! It appears to be a great first printer that is loaded with features others are lacking. Yeah, I would like to see a protective cover for the timing belt. Having separate drivers for the dual Z would be a nice touch. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Definitely best to print from light to dark colors. Found this out the hard way too working on my latest project. Video soon-ish (hopefully).
Hey Great video, this is a great looking machine, like your humor
Thanks Zachary! It was a pretty effortless review. Was nice having a printer that just worked. I was printing 24/7 for almost 2 weeks straight. Humor is a must! 😉
@@TripodsGarage I worked on a review too that’s coming out today about the Vyper, but humor must be to keep everything easy and fun
Well done as usual John! Looks like a nice solid build. I realize it's a beta unit but I hope they move away from those STM32F103's clone GD32 processors for more than a few reasons.
Thanks Rich! It is a solid machine, just like the Tycoon and Tycoon Mac. We shall see if they will move away from the cloned GD32.
Are the any significant differences compared to the Tycoon? or just form factor but pretty much the same printer? are there any compromises?
That is cool. Well done mr tripod
Thanks for the nice review! Good looking printer. Do you know if the printer can be connected to a Raspberry Pi with Octoprint?
I too wonder, but there is a USB C on the front I think.
sick :)
Where did you get your image of the vase... that's a awsome finish
In the video description, Clockspring. He has some amazing designs.
This uses the Robin Nano v2? What is the noise level like? Can it be upgraded to a v3? It looks like it needs another part cooling fan.
Great video. Is there a specific filament you recommend for this printer or in general?
Thanks for the compliment 👍! I have had great results using Printed Solid Jessie PLA.
How does this compare to the Ender 3 V2? It's a little more expensive where I live and I'm wondering if it's worth saving up a little more to get it. Also how's the customer service like for Kywoo compared to Creality?
I just got the regular Tycoon yesterday. Seems like a nice unit. Takes up alot of space on my desk though. Seeing this has same build area (actually can print higher) I kind of regret not getting this one now... Are there any benefits to the larger regular size one since it's the same build volume? Thinking if I should return it and get this instead.
Hey John just wanted to ask how long does it take for the printer to heat the bed and nozzle up to pla Printing temp because I've heard some things on the Facebook group could you time it and let me know I am very interested in buying this product
Thanks
Hello Tirth,
The Heated Bed takes 1:55 to reach 50c
The Hot End takes 2:05 to reach 200c
@@TripodsGarage ok sweet thanks
Yeah, those cloned 32b boards are not 100% Marlin compatible if I remember the TH3D stream correctly. There were some legal issues around getting vanilla Marlin to work with them too I think.
Hi John. I am planning to buy this sometime this week. Would you still recommend this over the rest within the same price point?
Yes, I still stand behind this printer. Even though mine is a beta unit, it is still running perfectly 👍
Sorry I might have ignored something, I don't see much difference as compared to the first tycoon. Other than frame to keep the board on the side on the tycoon. The rods, the stepper motors looks the same to me. The price is the same for both
Is it noisy?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the printer is pretty quiet
@@TripodsGarage Thank you!
