      @@jhay-ara6752 I dont think so. Like she said. You have to be a permanent resident for at least 3 yrs if you married a US citizen, if you got your green card through employment or other way then it is 5 yrs. Hope this helps.

    I have this wondering, if you serve for a military branch, do you get your citizenship early? I read somewhere that you can get your citizenship after 1 year of serving in peace time, and 180 days in hostility time

    I have Gc with F4 category. My question is, I'm holding GC from march 2016.....
    In march 2022. It will be 3.2 years of "continuous stay" in USA out of 5 yrs (2018 December onwards)
    Will I be eligible for naturalization ? Fullfelling all other criteria. Only doubt with "continuous stay"
    Appreciate your input.

    in some cases You won't be denied and won't approved at the same time, You gonna receive a Request For Evidence (RFE) form to prove anything that is missing in Your case and that evidence can't be obtained by uscis but you.

    • @maneeshamukhi
      @maneeshamukhi  4 года назад

      You have to get a green card first. You cannot skip over the green card and go straight to citizenship. Once you have a green card, you can live and work permanently in the U.S. and after 5 years (or 3 sometimes) you can apply for citizenship. Does this answer your question or did I misunderstand it?

    Can I travel with green card if I have applied for naturalisation N-400 !?

    • @maneeshamukhi
      @maneeshamukhi  4 года назад

      Yes you can, the only time you should be a little careful about travel is after your naturalization interview and right before your oath ceremony. The oath ceremony usually happens weeks after the interview so best to be around (but right now it's a little different because of covid). Not sure when you applied for naturalization but I didn't even have my interview until about a year after I applied (but this depends on the city you live in).

    My Parent is a US Citizen (Naturalized)! I moved to live with my parent at 16 and received my passport that same year. I’m now 20 and need to be naturalized! What are the steps? I already have the passport but no certification.PLEASE HELP.

    • @maneeshamukhi
      @maneeshamukhi  4 года назад +2

      If you hold a U.S. passport then you are already a U.S. citizen. That means you were naturalized at some point? What citizenship did you hold before? Are you sure your parents dont have your naturalization certificate somewhere? If it's lost you can apply for a replacement but it costs $$ which if you have somewhere, maybe can be avoided?

    • @maneeshamukhi
      @maneeshamukhi  4 года назад
