@@happynessadict Correct...I quote directly from his book: 3 servings of beans..."A serving is defined as a quarter cup of hummus or bean dip; a half cup of cooked beans, split peas, lentils, tofu, or tempeh; ...."
Dr. Greger uses a traffic light system for foods: Green, Yellow & Red. Processed plant foods come under the Yellow or caution. Plant milks come under the Yellow, not Red, which is avoid. By the way, Dr. Greger consumes soy milk...he has done a video on his breakfast smoothie which includes soymilk.
I wish it would be addressed more why some seem to "fail" on WFPB. And not everyone has problems eating a healthy diet that includes meat (i.e., not the SAD diet but whole foods). I wondered if there is some genetic variation or mutations that makes it so some people can't absorb nutrients as well or can't convert one element into another efficiently (like vitamin A - there could be some obscure processes we don't understand yet). There could be something like lactose intolerance but for other substances. Unfortunately, we can''t pay the $$$ or time to have our blood tested regularly. Also, some absorption problems could have been acquired (through disease or years of bad eating habits ruining the GI tract). And we can't really say, can we, that we know all the elements our body needs to run well, that we've identified everything> The RDA varies depending on country, so there's not even a consensus on that after all these years. Someone going WFPB may start consuming a food a lot more that they have undiscovered intolerance to which could hinder their ability to thrive on the diet, but how can they know without spending the $$$? Easier to blame the diet. - when they switch to a carnivore diet, not only are they adding foods back in but also most likely subtracting foods.
I’m very surprised to see Dr. Gregor supporting water fluoridation. That took me off guard. Hopefully he will update his stance on this in the future with backed peer reviewed evidence.
Think about it wfpb diet is mal-nutrition mix that with your flouride and you are literally a mindless zombie just following the herd. Please be careful and do your own investigations of ex vegans who almost died...
There was a cross sectional study about maternal fluoride content in urine. Jama Journal editors talked about it and said that it would be safer to just drink bottled water instead of tap because of the fluoride. They saw an average of 4-7 points loss in IQ. I wonder why it is always just swiped under rug because "our teeth can be stronger"
His point on soil depletion, while correct, is too shallow. In 50 years, we've depleted our soil by 15%, which is a horrifying reality. The rate of depletion is increasing, so in 50 years from now, assuming 15% isn't a low estimate, we'll have somewhere between 1/3-1/2 less nutrients. This is a crisis
Someone should inform him that when someone is interviewing you, it is best to speak to them and not the camera.. save the camera for when you do your live streams..
@Thomas Miller Pseudoscience. With that wild accusation and mentality, you will fall for anything and remain an indoctrinated drone. Now go check your arterial wall size and testosterone levels.
Agree -- usually the guest looks at the host when giving answers, like in a normal human conversation. I admire his work and writing and incredible donations of book royalties. I just wish his tone was less smart-alecky and sarcastic. It's grating.
I have always heard that fluoride is bad for us. Dr. Joseph Mercola is the first Doc that I heard mention this so I am surprised that Dr. Gregor says it is Okay to drink. I have kept away from it for years.
I really want to believe the soy part but I get instant pimples after eating soy the next day and my skin is more agitated/hormonal ( I eat oil free ) So I feel it really does do something to me...and eat it verrryy occasionally because I don't think its a good reaction of my body...
I question everyone as there is so much truth mixed with lies and till I heard this I trusted most of what this Dr says but now I know something is up. He is WAY too smart to think what he said about fluoride and the way he spoke so muttered and quickly about backed it up for me. So either he is a shill or he at least is trying to protect or at least not impact the dental and water industry’s. Maybe it’s pressure he doesn’t want ? I sure hope that’s the case!
He's definitely not a shill. That makes absolutely no sense... what, he's banking in on fluoride? Look, Dr. Greger is a brilliant man but he's not God and he's certainly not always right. He just so happens to be dead wrong on this issue and his reasoning that the poor need unwanted government intervention and shouldn't have a choice, is so out of touch and offensive. I know he doesn't mean it that way but it is so. I hope that he reads some of these comments. If I were interviewing him I would have challenged him on that thought cause it's just too much to ignore. But don't question all his presentations. For the fluoride crap, I totally agree with you, but notice that his opinion, while short-sighted and out of touch, was his opinion and not citing any evidence. The other stuff he presents is solely evidence based. So you don't need to wonder, just follow the evidence.
Shaylen Snarski sure I’m more or less with you on your feelings as till this point I had little to no reason to doubt his advice and researched knowledge. However I do feel that even great doctors seeking truth on natural plant based lifestyle to do what’s best are being pushed by government or the different industries to steer people in the wrong direction. However based on his quiet muttered response on the fluoride subject I guess it looks less likely to be the case here but I’m always on guard and trust nobody 100% due to the levels of corruption I’ve experienced in this world among many industries.

Are you sure about Tofu? I think he considered better than things like Soy Isolate and Soy lecithin and considered it more of a whole food.
dr Greger eats tofu and tempeh ...its right on his daily dozen app
colonyofcells iamamachine Don’t think soy is a problem! Did you listen to the science...and what about the blue zones with their soy intake....
He is so nice
Great interview and production value!
Great interview and interviewer! Good intervention on the fluoride point...
Great talk! But tap water is mostly awful and has to be purified to get rid of the chlorine, etc.
I love my vegan lifestyle! 😊🌲
I’m very surprised to see Dr. Gregor supporting water fluoridation. That took me off guard. Hopefully he will update his stance on this in the future with backed peer reviewed evidence.
Kinda surprised at his stance on fluoride.
Just keep eating your plant based kibble and don't ask any questions
He’s awesome
Delightful and informative interview.
He just makes sense!
Someone should inform him that when someone is interviewing you, it is best to speak to them and not the camera.. save the camera for when you do your live streams..
He is shy. ☺️
@Thomas Miller Pseudoscience. With that wild accusation and mentality, you will fall for anything and remain an indoctrinated drone. Now go check your arterial wall size and testosterone levels.
She's too damn pretty. I wouldn't stare at her either. My eyes would wander and the whole jnterview would be awkward.
Good interview but why is he sitting like that ? Were you in the same room for the interview?
Agree -- usually the guest looks at the host when giving answers, like in a normal human conversation. I admire his work and writing and incredible donations of book royalties. I just wish his tone was less smart-alecky and sarcastic. It's grating.
Hes speaking directly to the viewer!
Fantastic story!!
How about DHA supplement for vegans especially pregnant women or about to get pregnant?
I have always heard that fluoride is bad for us. Dr. Joseph Mercola is the first Doc that I heard mention this so I am surprised that Dr. Gregor says it is Okay to drink. I have kept away from it for years.
Thank you and live long Doc
I really want to believe the soy part but I get instant pimples after eating soy the next day and my skin is more agitated/hormonal ( I eat oil free ) So I feel it really does do something to me...and eat it verrryy occasionally because I don't think its a good reaction of my body...
Was this an interview, or an episode from nf.org? It's nice to see him...but be more engaging maybe?
I find it hard to believe after all that I have read on how bad fluoride is and he praises it? What is going on? How can it be?
Hes a shill.
Since vegan diets tend to rot teeth due to fermenting sugar in the oral cavities and lack of fat soluble vitamins , fluoride counter acts it.
Great doctor 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
