@@RiDankulous yup, he exceeded it by about 245 days, but I was expecting him to live much, much longer knowing what he knows about health and nutrition. I was surprised and saddened by the news of his death, especially because my uncle lived up to 92 despite his years of smoking, alcohol consumption, and eating just about anything carnivorous without regard to his health. Dr. McDougall's death seemed too early in comparison, as I was expecting him to be healthier than most based on what he teaches. I love it when plant based experts understand that health goes beyond whats inside us.. whats the point of being healthy in a dead world that's hell for all animals including us.
He does look better sober. But I question his wisdom of ignoring highly nutritious plant food opting for depleted white rice instead. Folks with cancer cells multiplying in their bodies need cruciferous veggies to kill cancer. Filling up on dead white rice is not a smart choice.
@@larrymaloney877 Dr McDougall recommends brown rice over white rice. He is not opposed to cruciferous vegetables either. Check out some of his wife's recipes. Our ancestors did not process and mill the nutrients out of their "starch". They ate the whole grain, the starch, the bran, the germ, and the fiber, all of it. McDougall eats what is left after removing the nutrients and fiber. How dumb is that?
Yep, my dad and brother both died of colon cancer...my dad's doc asked us all to "quit red and processed meats," back in 1986 when he was diagnosed! Are there any experienced coaches out there for this type diet? I can pay but I am sick and need some hand holding till I move in right direction. Thank you 🙏
The opposite for me, when I eat animal food I am satisfied and have no craving, but when I eat starches or fruits I am never satisfied and always bloated.
Does "starch-based" mean depleted white rice for you? I eat whole-grain carbs for energy and cruciferous greens for nutrition. "Starch-based" doesn't define, or describe a healthy diet. Eating "starch" is like eating "protein" it means whatever you imagine. For McDougall starch is poor quality processed white rice. McDougall's strongest argument is a billion Chineses eat white rice. A billion small people is an example of why not to eat processed foods, including depleted white rice.
Larry Maloney first off, Dr. McDougall has said many times that Brown is better, but white is fine. Second, yes, I actually eat white rice daily. White rice is not depleted, just stick it into an app like cronometer and you’ll see it contains multiple B vitamins, zinc, selenium etc
@@kaylanichole5972, unfortunately, McDougall is being dishonest. White rice is so depleted of nutrients the government requires processors to "fortify" it with synthetic vitamins before it's allowed to be sold. I bet McDougall and his business buddy, Hollywood Jeff, doesn't tell you that! Unfortunately, your "app" does not detail the milling process. And anyone who follows shifty McDougall knows he's anti-vitamin, except B-12. And I prefer my B-12 minus the depleted white rice. Enjoy your depleted rice if that's your knowledge-based choice. Based on nutritional knowledge, I choose whole-grain brown, wild, and black rice, none from the southeast USA where the fields are contaminated with arsenic. Unfortunately, McDougall still espouses mid-twentieth century nutrition. Twenty-first-century nutritional science interferes with McDougall's antiquated nutritional beliefs. My loyalty is to my health, not a stubborn doctor who abuses drugs.
@@kaylanichole5972, you say" I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been." That's does not reach the level of optimal health. And the reason for your health is an absence of meat & dairy and bottled oils & processed foods, not because you eat white rice. Since food volume is limited I prefer nutritious plants, not those partial plants processed by billionaires for resale to gullible consumers. Ironically, the germ from milled grains is packaged as "health food." The bran is also packaged and sold at a premium price. It's the depleted white starch that sells so cheaply. It's great for feeding a billion Chinese to prevent starvation, but I prefer healthy nutrition...not a lot, but potent. Depleted white rice does not kill cancer cells. If you prefer white rice you might try basmati, it has a nutty flavor. McDougall doesn't know this but the Chinese eat different white rice than the species sold in the USA. They are two different plants. Theirs is short-grain, and "sticky." It's easy to eat with chopsticks. With McDougall's species chopsticks don't work. But enjoy all the depleted white rice you choose. There are so many grains rice is a small part of my diet. McDougall chooses white rice to keep his diet simple hoping to attract the most customers. Wouldn't it be interesting to see a study of the relative IQ of folks who follow the various nutrition doctors? On average is there a difference? Or do we all average about the same with no statistical difference? I doubt smokers and non-smokers have the same IQ. What about meat-eaters and vegans? Each thinks the other is dumb. What is the truth?

Foods that l like; and my checkout was less money. It couldn't come better at anytime as today. lm changing up my menu for sure. Mash potato and gravy is a meal fit for a Queen
@@RiDankulous...only smart folks knows what we know......
@@RiDankulous dr McDougall recently died at the age of 77. I hope you outlive him with the same diet he was on.
My dad died at the age of 77 as well, but he had type 2 diabetes from his carb cravings, so I am a little bit confused, to be honest. My understanding is, the average life expectancy applies to the ordinary folks who know little about health and die from natural and unnatural causes/diseases. I wish you the best!
Why didn't I discover this amazing specimen any sooner. God bless you Dr.McDougall. Reporting the truth to help us all back on the right path.
I love how good quality your interviews are:) and John McDougall have changed very much my life.. I started plant based diet 3 years ago, and learned very much from his webinars with Gustavo Tolosa :)
Thank you so much for providing us this interview
He has such charisma! I am really looking forward to watch this at daytime! :)
And I love his info. I have been starch-based for years and vegan for 19 years. His info is the best! :)
Agreed, he does better sober.
He does have charisma...u need that as salesman.
@@robynhope219 all his healthy eating info is available on his site and youtube channel for free. Starch, corn, rice, lentils, potatoes, split peas, chickpeas, bread, beans, small amounts of fruits and veggies.
@@natureasintended not interested...his diet doesn't cut it 🙁
Great interview, I soak in every thing Dr. McDougall has to say. Back to basics shouldn't have to be taught in this generation, how ever the world has gotten so far off in so many area's, that here is this wonderful Dr. teaching us again what God said we should follow in our eating. thank you Dr. McDougall and Gianna for this vidio.
No no no, everybody in Europe doesn't smoke, Gianna. Our regulations are much stricter than in the US of A. Besides that: good interview - gotta love dr. McDougall... His advice (that I have followed for 15 years or so) cured my Lupus completely - would never eat any other way.
Wow could you help me connect with a coach for this diet? I feel like I’m dying. Thank you 🙏
There is no cure for lupus...don't make false statements😢maybe less symptomatic!
This man knows his stuff , and look at him fantastic !!!!
Good interview Gianna. I'm a fan
Need to spread this important message as well, I am wondering what does Gianna think of this video: ruclips.net/video/ELjgTs7BFC4/видео.html
Dr. McDougall is outstanding.
The world will foerever be grateful to Dr. JM!
CR7 is the proof that high protein diet is good! CR7 is 34 years old, still the physically fittest player in football who can jump highter than 2 metres in the air! he also looks very young! if you dont want to have good shaped muscles, then okay you can eat low protein diet!
You can’t change people’s basic personality! What Great insights Dr. McDougall’s parents had! 👍🙏💜
Gianna, Great interview with Dr McDougall. You two seem like best buds
Love it!! Thank you for this wonderful interview!! He is a legend!! 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love your interviews. Also you are a really beautiful woman and love your style. You have so much grace and poise.xx

Truth is subjective
The truth is SUBJECTIVE.
What a great interview!
I love it when plant based experts understand that health goes beyond whats inside us.. whats the point of being healthy in a dead world that's hell for all animals including us.
He's looking better these days. Keep it up Dr. McDougall.
Thank you interviewing this amazing man. Wow! He's still so dang handsome, too!
(FREE on his website) A lot of the recipes call for brown rice and green vegetables such as kale and broccoli. And she was using quinoa in the 70's before it became popular.
Great Energy interview ! Love Dr. Mcdougall and the lovely Gianna ! Thank you !
True about the Tarahumara (also called the Raramuri) natives, they still run on sandals and win world competitions and also run wearing their native costumes such as large maxi skirts during marathons. The Rarámuri Tribe was one of the few tribes that was never conquered by the Spanish and never converted to Christianity. The Spanish called the Rarámuri people Tarahumara people because of the mountains in that region and the area where they settled. Woke up to this being just posted. Dope. 😎👏🌱
What a legend!
I wonder how many fake aliases are posting on this video to hype McDougall? I hope he stays sober a while.
Why would he need fake aliases? His work speaks for itself.
@@hmackjay, you are known by the company you keep and McDougall proudly runs with Hollywood Jeff who uses lots of aliases to pretend he has visitors on his RUclips channel. He fakes it, even creating controversy to stimulate interaction for his own benefit. Do you think McDougall would not stoop so low? He stoops to run with Hollywood Jeff.
@@hmackjay, are you talking about his failed MS study? Or his copy-cat Kempner depleted rice diet? Or maybe you are speaking of the "wisdom" he gleaned from Nathan Pritikin? Before it spoke for McDougall it spoke for the originators. Right now he's attempting damage control of his image. I guess that drunken RUclips appearance woke him up a little?
Amazing content! Thank you for this education. I've had such a hard time trying to eat little to no carbs on a plant based lifestyle.🤦🏾♀️ This has helped me and now going to get the book.

Excellent interview! Thank you, Gianna, you are gorgeous and so adorable 😍

Oatmeal and blueberries for breakfast, gold potatoes and sauerkraut for lunch, salad or Pasta for dinner. As of 6-24-2024 still 165 pounds.
Dr. McDougall died in his sleep on 6/22/24. He was only 77. Wow! Did he die of a heart attack? Does anyone know? I am now having my doubts about a strict WFPB.
He survived a stroke at 18. The stroke affect on side of his body which probably contributed to muscle loss.
@@RiDankulous I am also. Eating all that starch shortened his life in the end. He looked terrible.
@@whisper2162👍exactly, but ppl resist common sense...his diet lacked fats, which is brain food. As a doc he should've known that.

Many bodybuilders look very healthy until they drop dead with 40-50 years.
I LOVE DR JOHN MCDougall M.D.. Just saying the truth. HUMANS live and thrive on a STARCH based diet.
Our ancestors did not process and mill the nutrients out of their "starch". They ate the whole grain, the starch, the bran, the germ, and the fiber, all of it. McDougall eats what is left after removing the nutrients and fiber. How dumb is that?
McDougal and Grahm! Men ahead of their time!
The good doctor is looking so well and hearty! YAY! Great man who works so hard to get the word out to EAT THE STARCHY PLANTS people! Works for me!
Yep, my dad and brother both died of colon cancer...my dad's doc asked us all to "quit red and processed meats," back in 1986 when he was diagnosed! So I did....but went completely to plants in 2010 when my brother died of it. At 61, I feel like I'm 31! No aches or pains, get out and walk every single day...work full time and haven't needed a sick day in over 14 years plus I donate blood pretty much every 65 days, which is like a mini check-up.
Do you mentor or coach people? Do you know anyone that does for this diet? I feel like I’m dying and could use some immediate guidance. Thank you 🙏
I love these interviews!
Great interview!!
YES !!!!! LONG AWAITED !!!!!

Are there any experienced coaches out there for this type diet? I can pay but I am sick and need some hand holding till I move in right direction. Thank you 🙏

Great sound in this vid.
The opposite for me, when I eat animal food I am satisfied and have no craving, but when I eat starches or fruits I am never satisfied and always bloated.
Looking great Dr. M
He really IS looking so well! Yay doc!
Notable quote and true: 27:02 , 41:28 (aka it is better to give than to receive)
My favorite plant based doctor! I could never eat this way if it was not starch based!
Larry Maloney the proof is in the pudding. You do you. I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’ll continue eating my white rice.
👍Dr Mcdougall, you are straight speaking honest MD sharing the truths about good health and your healthy look is the evidence of what you are practicing - 信, 解 , 行, 證。
When you met Mary, you just fell in love with her instantly! I believe this is 緣, happened with a reason ("cause!"). It happened to many people "love at first sight". I believe this type of love shall last "until" you parted!
Keep on with your good works.

I don’t know of anyone who can over eat on animal fat and protein. Satiety is triggered. The same can’t be said of starch based foods.

He clearly is ignorant about fasting
This doctor can't make himself more clear enough. l hear him loud and clear. Just eat potatoes, rice, corn and beans. Starch is our power foods. How simple can this be. For my health, this day forward my menu changes

I’m not even trying to be a wise ass here. The doc is right when I think of China and Japan I absolutely think of white rice it’s evident they have eaten this for a long time. But I also think of seafood as being their staple. Is there evidence that this is just a misconception. They don’t really eat it that much?
Nothing wrong with rice i would think it's the extra calories and servings 🍚
The lack of self. Control
