In this video we are going to be installing a factory LED Center High Mount Stop Lamp with Cargo Camera on our 2018 Ram 2500. These trucks can be ordered from the factory with these options but when you don’t order it that way, you are left with installing the required harness yourself. In addition to buying or building the harness you will need to enable the appropriate options via Alfaobd.

What was the purpose of the red and black shielded wire where did you run it to? And also are you willing to make a cable set up and sell?
At 3:10 it looks like you have 30' of orange wire for your lin bus cbc3 and red for your run relay it also shows a big bundle again at 25:43. But before that you said they only need to be 36". Did you end up not needing to run those as far as you thought due to them being in the I440?
Correct, that was just for the test harness. Made them longer in case we had to run them further. They were shortened to pin into the i440.
Can I make this work with aftermarket stereo?
Being this was an option for 2017 would you know if it would work on this year?

I have. 2017 2500 megacab limited with navigation will the hook up be the same? You mentioned that you didn’t have navigation.
Depends on where you are running wires to. You should have the harness connector pinned out at the driver side dash panel but if not you would need to run the wire from the radio to pin that connector. I don’t believe the nav unit uses a different pin out I will check though and let you know.
Hey, Have another question. If you got a factory 3rd brake light with camera. Also I have the camera in my back tailgate. Now how do I get the 3rd brake light camera to work right? If I buy infotainment wire harness. What all I need to do to get it to work?

Question - the harness in your video had two dongles but the one from Amazon has three. Where does the little black dongle go that’s near the camera connection?
Great question, the harness is originally for the tailgate that I modify. That 3rd little plug is actually the wiring that goes to the tailgate lock cylinder.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad so then I can trace those wires to where they connect and just remove them? Just want to make sure.
@@RamChaos if your referring to the 2 wire connector on the jumper harness that goes from the camera to the main harness I build then yes you can cut those wires flush and wrap them up in the jumper harness or depin them and leave the pins on then wrap them up in the harness.
It looks like this would work for many year models with UConnect. Is there any reason it wouldn’t?
You would need to look at the schematics to make sure your connecting the correct wires and to ensure your Radio is capable of displaying the cargo camera. I believe some model years I want to say after 2015 or 2016 is when the cargo cam became an option but dont quote me on that.
This is an amazingly detailed video. I have my dashcam powered by the Cig lighter circuit but need to find a different solution. My preference is a power source that is on with engine including remote start because the accessory circuit is only on when the key is on. I want to be able to keep the dashcam running at an accident scene without having my key in the ignition and to activate the camera with the remote start. Any suggestions? 2016 Ram Big Horn 8.4 radio with Nav
If you dont want to tap into any wires Id recommend doing a fuse tap in the fuse panel and running your wires into the firewall and then to the cam. You can find an accessory circuit that has power your looking for.
Would you happen to know what the female terminal/pin size or part number would be for the connector on the back of the radio?
Looks like the connector is AMP 0.64 Connector System, 52 Position, pn 2203937-1 on te.com . Female terminals are .64, 2.1 . www.te.com/usa-en/product-2203937-1.html
On the harness where you say you need pins 12-14 where did you get the schematic from or what is that harness called? I have a 16 and my harness is lightly different they yours i have the same for 13 and 14 but my shielded wire is 15 and not 12. I wanna see make sure before i hook up and fry something. Thanks!
2016 will have the shield wire routed to pin 12 in i370 and newer will swap to pin 15 in i370

I got a cam out of a wrecked Durango and I’m trying to make it a front cam for an aftermarket RCA input.
I do not know if you can or not.
What that fit an 2023 ram 5500 crew cab with a 8.4 radio factory UConn?
I would have to look at the schematics to see but likely no, not in its current configuration. Most if the newer cameras utilize a fakra connector for the camera so it would need a different connection for that piece.
So there so no need for alpha obd2 or obd genie?
No need for obdgenie but you will need alfaobd and obdlink mx+ or ex cable
Do you know anything about having to wire it from the connecting point to the radio? Just checked and I don't have the 3 wires required for this kit so I'm searching the internet to find that diagram and then are you selling a kit? I don't have instagram to message but possible email?

Should be similar but the radio will need to be 2016 or later if Im not mistaken. Salvage yard find

@@jordangress236 you will need to search on cummins forum for adding the cargo camera for specific radio information. I know it has to be 2016+ but I dont recall if an exact model of 8.4 is required. No I do not have any videos for adding heated seats, mine came factory.

The one you want is the analog and you DO NOT want the digital one with a single connection (Fakra jack). You will also need a tool to update the radio to add the camera option. When I completed mine, it took 24 hours to show up... I do not understand why.

This is nuts. Just buy a dash cam mirror with a back up cam included and mount it on the roof of truck. I threw up three times watching this video as there was so much work involved

Possibly if you install a 2016 or newer 8.4 radio. I cant say if the wiring is the exact same or not.
