Andre Locklayer, I had no light out messages on the dash or any warnings or even weird things like hyperflash happening. However, when I checked for faults I pulled 2 which were both for turn signals so you may have something set but not know it. Either way, if you put LED lights in you should set the HID to enable to disable pwm as it is not needed to vary the voltage to the bulbs.

This is also a option I had to change on mines for anyone who’s also doing this I had to change vehconfig 3: high intensity discharge headlamps without that option set to yes my passenger LED would still shut off without that being turned on
Thanks, it explains the problems i was having with my 2014 ram 1500. I purchased a set of Vland led headlights, headlights worked but the turn signals and drl's were a no go. I received the turn signals were out message when they truck started and when i turned on the turn signals they hyperflashed on the mirror and in the rear bulbs. Also switching high and low beams messages were displayed. Hope this does the trick.

Alpha obd did say the software for iOS devices has been in the work for some time via email but no release date anytime soon and no software for Macintosh anytime soon either unfortunately.

So I’ve recently got the alpharex nova g2 lights. Turn signals aren’t working and the start up sequence isn’t working properly either. I’m guessing I’m needing to do this, what obd scan tool do you recommend and is there any other software I need to purchase for 2018 ram 3500
I would recommend obdlink mx+, android device with alfaobd and you will require a security gateway module bypass to program. Search facebook for Matt Dougherty as he should have plenty in stock. You may also find them through Kaod tech or M2mods. The one I use is from Kaod tech, not sure if he is still making them. Happy modding! 🇺🇲🦅👨🔧
Just installed the pro series. Went well. Threw a parking light out code after about 16 hours. Everything still works other than the daytime running lights on the passenger headlight. Please help.
This doesn't work with headlight led bulbs over 50watts. I've tried it on 2012 ram.2018 2012 1500 You need a security cable to properly do it. My friend installed high low beam leds bulbs on his 2020 1500 tradesman stock headlight assembly. One side would shut off randomly He had to get the chrysler security bypass cable and use jscan. But jscan costs $30 per programming license. It worked perfectly thought.

I'm a little confused on your explanation on the installation of LEDs for headlights. You explained that, even though you have the software to enable LEDs, it can still give you issues? I guess I don't get the point of buying this program if it doesn't enable you to have Flawless operation?
The Systems in these trucks can be funny at times. You can enable the LED options, enable HID options, disable halogen options and alot more things. The program in my opinion is worth the money if you plan to do more than just a couple things or just want a pretty decent diag tool. The type, brand, and design of the LED light can play a part in having a smooth operating LED light that is trouble free. Really just depends on the several factors but most should be easily configurable.
@@thirdgearboogie2210 for ease of use I like the android tablet but the laptop has been known to accomplish some tasks that the tablet has trouble doing for some reason. If you only want to use one device and dont mind lugging the laptop out to the truck then this is the route I’d go.
I'm having issues. I've followed this and changed all the settings to LED and have confirmed after multiple cycles that they are yes. After doing so, I still get "low beam headlight out". I got morimoto headlamps. 2014 Ram
@@Jimmybobcornflake if you go into the same menu you were in, you should be able to type it into the search box and it will ask to enable hid headlights. This should turn off the pulse width modulation in the headlights.
I currently have stock quad holengen reflective housing with supernova v4 LED's with the drive and module so far no faults in my 2014 Ram 1500 I'm considering upgrading to Alpharex like you have was wondering are the Low/High bulbs the same H7 ? I'm definitely going to get AlphaOBD MX+ and buy the full version app
If you havent done so yet, you need to program the bcm to tell it that there are LED bulbs present. Some guys have had luck without enabling HID as well while others had to program LED bulbs and HID enabled.
can you check and see if the "one touch lane change" can be adjusted to go beyond 3 blinks? and also for "DRL lamp location"...what options does it show?
I only see for 2013-17 where you can enable the lane change but not adjust it. As far DRL Im showing high beam, low beam, turn signal, fog lamp, dedicated, and srt light bar.
@@Reaper_Crew17s test to ensure you have ignition power going to the assembly and that the fuse tap is in a slot in your fuse box that is supplied power and not blank for spare fuses. Some trucks may not have the same fuse locations powered as others. If you verify power going to the light module and you have power getting to the back of the light but nothing happens, I would contact the company you bought them through or alpharex direct.
I have a morimoto XB led headlights..everything works but the blinkers flickers and other times don't work at all also message on dashboard says llturnsignal lights out..do i need obd to correct this?
I've heard that LED bulbs aren't the greatest with Projector headlights. Right now I am on the fence about which bulb I should go with. LED or HID. I love the fact that LED is instant especially with high beam and that there is not all the wiring that comes with HID. what do you suggest?
I like the LEDs and honestly they have pretty good light output. I went with the LEDs all around because HIDs have a warmup time and are not good for high beam use. You could do HID lows and LED highs but I havent tried the HID mainly for the reason stated and extra wiring. Best light output would be with a true LED light from aloharex

Great, I haven’t had any issues so far. These are the lower end headlight so I didnt expect as good of results like the totally LED light from alpharex. Some people have mixed reviews but in my case they are still better than stock.

I have the projector assembly with led turn and DRLs and the right side turn, drl and marker has gone out with hyper flash on the panel and I can't get the Alfa to correct it. Help?
If the lights went out as in they failed then alfaobd cannot correct that. You would need to replace the bad lights. Have you verified the lights are bad?
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad Correction Alfaobd can correct them and did. The truck turned them off thinking its a short but what I did was add all outside LEDs and set to present so they all match and now my right side is back on and everything is working perfectly.

Can bus systems can shutoff lights if it senses a problem and thats why I asked if you verified the light was good not knowing how old or long they had been in use that way. Glad you got it straightened out though
You should be able to change the lights that are utilized for the running lights on most years, I cant say for certain if that is the case on your 2011.

@@davidnarciso correct, with the alpharex lights simply programming them doesnt mean they will be on. The functiin of the drl harness allows them to be on without you touching the switch in day time and the intensity is brighter during daylight and adjusts down for lower light conditions.

Alot of times what causes the hyper flash is the pwm (pulse width modulation) when halogens are installed so guys turn hid on to disable this. If the turn signal option for LED is not there and you dont have hid headlights or LED headlights this may not help you
Well yeah I do have LED headlights but according to the year off my truck (2012) alfaOBD don’t show me the LED option , but if I select 2013 it does , but we I hit the yes for led , it says tha the system don’t support this option, Any clue of how can I fix this, thanks for answering me 👍!!
@@javiersuarez2011 if it doesnt show you led option for 2012 its likely due to it not being supported by the bcm, you may have to wire in resistors or there may be a possibility to replace the bcm with a newer one from 2013+
Do you have any additional front lighting? I found your video which was helpful on doing stuff on the Alfa. I have bullseye custom auto grill lights and AlphaRex headlights. Anytime my headlights are on i get a short circuit fault left and right no location though. Only when headlight are on. Works fine with parking lights. Any thoughts?
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad well tried a couple ways, first tapped into the same drl wire as the AlphaRex. Fault when headlights on. Then a separate tap. Fault when headlights on again. Grill lights have power wire on fuse tap, one wire to each turn signal, ground. Now I’m stuck. Don’t know what else to do
Hey man just a quick question, I have a 2011 2500 that I am going to install the pro series on. Is AlfaOBD a must-have to run these headlights, or can I just run an anti-flicker module on it?
It certainly makes it easier but there are many different ways you can correct hyperflash if you get it. Also will depend on how much you can program with a 2011. Guys have run the modules, resistors, and used alfaobd.
Might be a combination of the projector and light. Mine are pretty bright and have good illumination but I cant speak for the consistency of them. HID in the low beam would mimic a halogen light source better but you would need all the extra wiring which I didnt want or you would need to buy a more expensive bulb that is of better quality. I bought these for the cost and thought they performed well compared to the halogen bulb.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad what about the DRL? I have mine all connected the right way and they do not work. Connected to the battery, into F66 fuse tap.... any suggestions?
@@colestreit1500 I would contact alpharex and start trouble shooting that little wire harness. The harness from the lights is essentially a switch and can fail. Use a multimeter and check to see that you have everything needed supplied to that harness i.e. power and ground and if there still is a problem its likely an internal issue
Do you still use the led lights or did u switch to hid? Also if u are still using the Hikari led which ones are u using and which one is the low beam and which one is the highbeam?
Use the first link for hikari bulbs, those are what Im using. The second link is for the ultra bulbs which are supposedly the new bulbs they have to better mimic a halogen light source.
@@rustyestle7728 I do plan to put together a video specifically for these headlights and the 4th gen trucks, hopefully in the next couple weeks. I wish it were faster but there is a lot of stuff going on. In the mean time, video that is linked in the video will get you buy with aiming.
Also i did programming all the LED to YES (low beam, turn signals) and the turn signal starts working with no problem now, but the low beam which staying Hikari Ultra fokus h7 stop working after 20 sec, and show me 4 codes on a tablet.. do i need to program something else or i need swap bulbs to Hikari vision plus?

Same H7 hikari bulbs were ordered and installed.
Have a 2015 Ram. How do you fix bulb(led) flicker using ALPHA OBD?

Likely you do need to turn off halogen and enable Hid/led. This turns off the pulsewidth modulation for halogen bulbs.

Is there a way through Alpha ODB to enable Sequential blinker? Do the factory LED’s have that as a feature?
I couldnt tell you if the factory lights have the capability but if they did it would probably be in the bcm and you can search for lighting.

Can you program it so the drl lights are the orange clearance lights instead of the white on a 2011?
You should be able to change the lights that are utilized for the running lights on most years, I cant say for certain if that is the case on your 2011.

Did you use a retainer clip for the led bulbs? I can find them anywhere for the ram. Or is the Alpha rex already equipped for after market LED lights?
I was able to use the retainer clip in the alpharex headlight. It was tight though

I bought these for the cost and thought they performed well compared to the halogen bulb.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad what about the DRL? I have mine all connected the right way and they do not work. Connected to the battery, into F66 fuse tap.... any suggestions?
@@colestreit1500 I would contact alpharex and start trouble shooting that little wire harness. The harness from the lights is essentially a switch and can fail. Use a multimeter and check to see that you have everything needed supplied to that harness i.e. power and ground and if there still is a problem its likely an internal issue
Do you still use the led lights or did u switch to hid? Also if u are still using the Hikari led which ones are u using and which one is the low beam and which one is the highbeam?
Yes Im still using the Led bulbs. Low and high beam are the same bulb and the link for the ones I got are in the description.
Use the first link for hikari bulbs, those are what Im using. The second link is for the ultra bulbs which are supposedly the new bulbs they have to better mimic a halogen light source.

@@rustyestle7728 I do plan to put together a video specifically for these headlights and the 4th gen trucks, hopefully in the next couple weeks. I wish it were faster but there is a lot of stuff going on. In the mean time, video that is linked in the video will get you buy with aiming.

How far is the truck from the wall when you align the low/high beams ?
About 25ft. Slight adjustments may be needed after driving
But how do you adjust them without taking them out?
Which hikari LED you put on low beam? I want do same as you
Also i did programming all the LED to YES (low beam, turn signals) and the turn signal starts working with no problem now, but the low beam which staying Hikari Ultra fokus h7 stop working after 20 sec, and show me 4 codes on a tablet.. do i need to program something else or i need swap bulbs to Hikari vision plus?

How did you orientate the bulbs in the housing ?
Leds should be at 3 and 9 position

Good video. Will have to get it for my hids. Question about my uconnect. Did update to navigation lost my 3rd brake camera and my backup camera on my radio! Uconnect said they know issue but can't do anything. What do you suggest?
I would suggest going in with alfaobd and seeing if it is enabled and if not try to enable it to see if that fixes your problem
