    Fun Fact: This movie marks the 4th time Edward Norton played a character with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder).

      @@LirtzieAnother fun fact: Mark Ruffalo was actually the director Louis Leterrier’s first choice for the role of Bruce Banner in this movie, but Marvel wanted Edward Norton because he was more famous at the time.

    Yeah, so the deal is that when Marvel decided they wanted to do their own movies, they had already sold off the movie rights to their most popular characters to other studios (Spider-Man, the X-Men, Fantastic 4, etc.) when they needed money. The Avengers characters were like a B-team that no one had picked up. Of the original characters, The Hulk was the one general public knew the best. There had been a TV series in the 80s (starring the guy who is the security guard he gives the pizza to in this one) and there was some earlier movies that didn't do real well. So while they felt no one who didn't read the comics or watch the cartoons knew who Iron Man was, they thought people all knew the Hulk and they could skip doing yet another origin story and opted for a montage at the beginning for those who didn't know. Later in the series they do this with another popular hero who has a bunch of movies... I think it works fine the second time, but I think an origin story would have worked better here.
    (Marvel decided the X-Men and Spider-Man had been doing well enough that they wanted to do their own, Kevin Feige who will go one to lead the MCU was a producer on X-Men stuff as well)
    I think this movie is ok. I think it and Iron Man make a good pair to see if people will like the MCU. If you don't like Iron Man at all (especially the style of humor), then you probably won't enjoy the MCU. But, if this one is OK or better, then you probably will think all the movies in the MCU are OK or better. This one is probably the worst in Phase 1, so if you found it OK, then you'll be good.
    All that said, there is a lot in this movie that has or will come back up later in the franchise. As of right now, three of the characters have come back (well, Hulk came back but as a different actor for Bruce Banner).
    That brings us to the next thing, this is when the recasting of a couple characters take place. Mark Ruffalo will be Bruce Banner next time you see him. Took me a movie to get used to the change, but I like it better now. They also change Col. Rhodes from Iron Man (Tony's best friend) and he is played by Don Cheadle in the future. Same deal, happy with it when I got used to it (even though both original actors were very good actors).
    You probably noticed... but this is one of two MCU movies without a post credit scene. It was done in Iron Man in 2008, but wasn't a thing until that one did so well and this movie was being made at the same time (released the same year).

    I remember enjoying this one when I was a kid. I still think this movie is solid.
    Bruce Banner/Hulk continues on to appear in the MCU, but sadly this one was the only appearance of Edward Norton playing Bruce Banner. I actually preferred Edward Norton's Bruce Banner than Mark Ruffalo (who plays Bruce Banner after Norton for the rest of the MCU)

    • @Lirtzie
      @Lirtzie  11 месяцев назад +1

      Do we know why they changed Edward to Mark for the rest of the movies? bcs the actors wanted it or the production company? 👀

    • @Slade_The_Deathstroke
      @Slade_The_Deathstroke 11 месяцев назад +1

      Might had been behind the scene drama with Edward Norton

    • @seanmahoney2671
      @seanmahoney2671 9 месяцев назад

      @@Slade_The_Deathstroke That is my understanding, Edward Norton wanted more control over the movies as a whole and Marvel wasn't willing to go with his stuff that didn't follow their plan. And since it didn't perform as well as Iron Man, they were bringing up the producer from that to be in charge of the MCU.

    He's been the hulk for 5 years before the beginning of this movie. When you think of this movie don't see it as a superhero movie but as a monster movie. Nine out of ten people who get the hulk blood will die from radiation poisoning also he died when it hit the ground another thing with Hulk somewhat invincible if you dies as Bruce he will steal turn into the Hulk.

      Spoiler alert: There's a comic book that shows Black widow going to arrest mr. Blue. They won't mention him again but going forward throughout the MCU there is someone who's been trying to gather technology through proxies most of the time it's been him. He's called The leader he's one of the Hulk biggest villain you can compare him to what lex luthor is to Superman because he didn't get strong like the hulk he got more intelligent. With his intelligence being so high he can almost predict the future he's also one of the main villains of a future MCU movie that comes out in 2024. In fact all of the characters in this movie will be a big part of phase 5 and 6 going forward.

    Make your own opinion about Marvel movies. There are a number of horrible takes on the Marvel story online. Add to the bad takes the MCU has done a number of changes to the storyline of characters to make the shows open for a wider audience. At this point in time no one knew if MCU was really going to be a thing. It takes a few movies to make the gamble that Disney took with Marvel Studios to prove itself. Plus there are a number of political struggles with Marvel Entertainment managment and Marvel Studios management that will decide the future of the franchise. Its not until the middle of phase 2 and phase 3 Marvel Studios gets into its own and Marvel Studios is free from Marvel Entertainment's control. Add to that Fox controls XMen and those properties for movies, Sony controls Spiderman and those properties for movies and The Hulk is in a weird rights dispute with Universal owning distributing and Marvel not having control over the title alone.

    Hi Lirtzie, nice to see you!😊 The Hulk films are pretty weak. This one is better than Ang Lee's "Hulk" (2003) which has a 5.6 rating on IMDb. "The Incredible Hulk " TV series was pretty popular in the 70s and 80s and ran for 5 seasons. Lou Ferrigno who played the hulk in the TV series does the voice of the hulk in this film. Yep, that is Ty Burrell (Phil) from "Modern Family". He gave an interesting performance in the remake of "Dawn of the Dead" (2004). A couple characters in this film show up later in other Marvel projects. The actor that played "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt) here has passed away since this film and Harrison Ford will portray him in future Marvel projects. No, you are correct. This film is nothing special. Not even an end credit scene? Nice reactions to the second iteration of the Hulk in movie form, Lirtzie!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

      While Phil Coulson was the first Phil (before Ty Burrell) the character has been played by another actor than Clark Gregg. in 2012, two shorts were released of actor Andrew Roth playing Phil Coulson in "Phil Coulson: Agent of SHIELD" and "Coulson's Day Off". Apparently, these are fan films.😉@@ricardoortiz4870

    "The Incredible Hulk" is the worst of the early MCU. But the positive thing is that ... everything else is better!
    As for the credit scene, they put it right before the credits on this one. So it was the scene with Tony. But, just so you know, on some of the other movies there can be multiple scenes stuffed into the credits. I think one of the movies has four.
