They didn't move it for Disney+ (none of the movies do), they just played around with where it is because they were still figuring out what would work best. Later movies will have multiple 'post'-credit scenes (mid-credit, and actual post-credit). There is a movie later in the timeline that will have 5 (or more? can't remember) post credit scenes sprinkled throughout the credits. Won't say which to avoid spoilers, but yeah... can't take placement for granted. They reeeeally want you to watch all the way through (one hint is that most streaming services won't minimize the window to advertise other shows/movies to you until all the post-credit scenes are done).
At this point in time, there were 4 different studios with ownership in Marvel properties. Universal owned Hulk and all related, Sony owns Spiderman and all, Fox owned X-men et al, and Disney had the rest.
Haha, every time you cussed out Tim Roth’s character, I’d think “you should watch Rob Roy”. Dude is a really good villain, it’s actually kind of hard to watch.
Most people feel very strongly about this movie, for good or for ill. Some people think this is the One True Hulk and others like the Mark Ruffalo version better. You will have a chance to see and make up your mind soon enough. This is the only MCU film that was made by a different studio: Universal. As you have read in your comments, there have been issues over who holds the rights to different characters, which is why there was never another solo Hulk film made after this. Which is too bad, as there is a lot of fertile backstory and a rich roster of characters to build a film or a series of films around. For me personally, I enjoyed this movie and love to come back to it from time to time but it has never been one of my MCU favorites. So many better films to come!
Not to condone Blonski's shooting of the dog, it was just a tranquilizer. More will be revealed about the super soldier serum in due time... But for me seeing Blondski moving and jumping around and fighting the Hulk was awesome. I do like this film. It takes stuff from the live action TV show for his origin with Bill Bixby and Lou Feregno that played the campus security guard.
The deformation occurring in Mr. Blue's head was hinting at a '60s Marvel villain called the Leader, whose gamma alteration gave him green skin, along with an enlarged brain and cranium.
Another benefit of watching them in release order is that the mid- and end-credits scenes usually lead into something related to the next movie, or maybe a couple movies down the line, and watching them in timeline order messes that up. This one doesn’t really have the amount/type of humor that you see scattered in Iron Man (and most subsequent MCU films), that might be part of why you didn’t enjoy it as much. This was basically just setting a foundation for a major character to be seen later. Some of the upcoming movies have noticeably more humor than others, which makes for an interesting mix.
I have to say, the way you were ripping on Blonsky/The Abomination for most of the reaction was really entertaining. We got to see Dr. Stern's origin of becoming the gamma powered villain called The Leader, only his intellect is amplified instead of his strength. In the comics, Betty's new boyfriend becomes the gamma powered part time hero known as Doc Samson.

A big difference with this movie in the MCU is that due to contracts, solo Hulk films had to involve Universal Studios' production company to a degree that I feel negatively impacted the quality. It's still a pretty great movie, it just didn't match the quality of the lead-ins of all the other characters.

The security guard that Bruce Banner gives the pizza to was played by Lou Ferrigno, who portrayed The Incredible Hulk along with Bill Bixby, who played Bruce Banner, in the original 1978 TV series. Later in the movie when Elizabeth Ross hands Bruce the large purple sweatpants, this is a call back to the Hulk comic books wherein the Hulk was most often drawn wearing purple pants. Behind the scenes, apparently Edward Norton was very controlling and combative about many things regarding the script and the directing of the film and so on which resulted in his contract to work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe being revoked. He was replaced by Mark Ruffalo in all future Marvel films.
The friendly old guy who owned the pizza parlor was played by the late Paul Soles, who provided the voice of Bruce Banner and the Hulk in the animated Marvel Superheroes shorts in the 1960s. Later he went on to do the voice of Spider-Man in the 1960s Spider-Man series, which is why the same pizza parlor owner is briefly seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
There is another Hulk movie done by Ang Lee and starring Eric Banna. This movie was more of a relauch of the character and Universals attempt to keep the distribution rights to the Hulk. Edward Norton said he wanted to make this as a love letter to the old 1970s TV series The Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby as David Banner (slight name change) and Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. Lou Ferrigno does a cameo in this movie as the library security guard. Hulk is a weird character to bring to the screen. The best interpretations have been the old 70s TV show and the MCU. Mark Ruffalo will take over as Bruce Banner with the Hulk and the Avengers. The She Hulk TV series after the MCU is a great adaptation from the 80s comic. There is a lot of behind the scenes politics going on over the rights for the Hulk in Movies and TV. Right now Marvel does retain the creative rights to the Hulk but Universal still had the distribution rights at this time.

Ha, the whole movie you're looking at Blonsky as a dog-killer and immediately see him and think, "Twat," and he turns out to be (probably because of the incomplete serum they injected him with), but early on he was just doing his job, trying to capture Banner and wasn't particularly dick-ish. It just made me chuckle thinking you were seething every time he came on the screen thinking, "That damn dog-killer!"😂
So I know you aren't there quite yet, but you may want to just peruse the Wikipedia cliffs notes on Norse mythology before you get to Thor. There's a loose following of the real legends in who the characters are and just having that basis of Thor is the God of Thunder etc. from history seems to make his stories a little easier to get into at first and makes them a little easier to parse the story for reactors. I have watched a bunch of people take this journey and that seems to be a bit of a thing. Just an FYI though, You can go in blind as well, but context...
Goodness!! Yet another person who didn't watch Hulk before The Incredible Hulk and is visibly confused. Just watch the first movie even without reacting to it so that you don't spend the beginning of this movie wondering what all the flashbacks mean!
This is one of those movies that annoys me because it's so clear that it could have been *amazing*, but instead it somehow only ended up so-so. (That being said, it has grown on me over time.)
I agree that this film doesn't feel as good as Iron Man. I think it's because Iron Man is a redemption story about Tony Stark while The Incredible Hulk is about Bruce Banner accepting what he has become. Come to think of it, a lot of Tony's stories in the MCU are about him fixing the mess he made, which I think is more relatable and therefore more compelling.
My fav Hulk movie is in 2003 one which is directing by Ang Lee. I dont know why they dont count it as Marvel movie. Actually I am glad about that. Because that movie is too good for Marvel standards. On the other hand this movie is mehh! The best thing about this video is your unique mimics :)

Tim Blake Nelson(Dr.Stern/Mr. Blue) is unforgettable in "O Brother, Where Art Thou."
He's been memorable in other movies, such as Minority Report, and he was even good in an episode of Modern Family.

This is the only film with Norton as Bruce Banner. Dont be surprised when you see a different actor take over the role.
