For those of you who’ve been following me, you know this is not the kind of music I am used to playing at all… But I recently re-discovered Slipknot and I had to do one of their songs.
I first discovered them when I was a pre-teen, and I played their first two albums about a million times back then. After that, I sort of grew out of it when they released Vol. 3 and went into the 80 heavy - hair - glam stuff most people know me for, which is the kind of music that made me want to start playing the guitar.
Slipknot has got some nasty riffing! But for those who are more into the melodic stuff, I really recommend their album released in 2014, The Gray Chapter. I’ve been listening to it on repeat for weeks, it really is an awesome one, and there’s a bit of everything in there. Slow passages, groovy drums, clear singing as well as more aggressive vocals. You want it, you’ve got it.
