Man that band rocks! Last time I covered them was about 100 episodes ago and I’d been wanting to do another one of their songs for so long, especially this one.
The thing is, I had already started working on it on different occasions but always gave up because of hard it was to not only decipher the harmonies, but also to play them well enough to be recorded over my backing track.
But there you go, I gave myself a big kick in the @$$ and said it’s now or never!
If you sort of know them but aren’t super familiar, please, do check out that album, it’s a masterpiece!

You changed the solo but it's ok
Believe most of the impressive solos were from Billy White on that album…..I mean the solo in “when love finds a fool” is killer also….actually whole album is underrated. It came out at the wrong time. Ooh and great cover of the solo btw 😂

The lead itself is spot on. The only thing is the riff leading in isn’t played open like that, he’s choking it a bit with a palm mute so it sounds more chunky and percussive without the notes ringing out. You’re a much better guitarist than me though and you rocked this well either way.
Thank you. Indeed, I am playing the riff wrong. The thing is I am not familiar with Savatage at all, I just heard this song and thought it would be cool to make a vid of it but I didn't analyse it enough. The riff is supposed to be more agressive, and the last note of each ''phrase'' is supposed to be a fretted one, which I did wrong as well as I played it as a 0. I'm happy about the lead though... but I wish I could redo the riff parts :)

Thanks man! And it looks even better in real than on vids ;) It's an EVH 5150, I got it from an online store about 4 years ago, it was being sold everywhere. Sadly they don't manufacture that model anymore, the new 5150s are slightly different and the new colours are less cool.
