Meshuggah - Future Breed Machine (Fredrik Thordendal) Solo Cover by Sacha Baptista and Alen Babin

This is one of my very favourite bands, however, as you can see, not the type of music I usually play… I just don’t have the right gear for it.
Therefore, once again, I asked my friend Alen Alekke Babin for help; we had already worked together on another video, Meshuggah - Closed Eye Visuals, so I knew I could count on him and that wouldn’t be disappointed.
He’s got the meanest tone you can get! I mean, when he sent me the guitar and bass tracks, the tone was so unbelievably good, I hardly had to turn any knobs to make it work in the mix!
This is such an iconic song, and the solo isn’t like anything I’ve played before. You know, I’m used to playing all those 80s things and those very well crafted and calculated solos, but this time, I had to force myself to play something absolutely random. You might think “yeah it’s easy, just play whatever”, but the “whatever” thing you’re playing still has patterns in it, whether it’s in the notes or the timing. To play randomly, you basically have to forget everything you’ve ever learnt. That was a challenge!
