OMG you got the almighty Fredrik to play the solo? Wow. It's a pity though he never plays it as recorded on the album, I find the album version to be a pure perfection
That thought fascinates me... Metal was born from rock which came from the blues which is jazz and should hence be all about improvisation. Seems like a devolvement to me... 🤔
@@Gatapotata but it is not really jazz , is it? its metal. on the album version this solo is such an awsome part of the song, and each tone of it is so easy to remember. taking out key elements of the solo( those parts that really makes the song come together) it just leaves alot to be desired in my opinion..besides from that, what an absolute awsome cover 🙂
My biggest dream is for Feared to become a touring band. You guys seriously have THE best catalogue of Death Metal albums under your belt. (If you decide to tour please stop by Copenhagen) *Cries a little* Pleeeeeaasssseeeee ;_;
One of my fav songs from D.E.I. I've been a fan since 94 with that percussive I was hooked right away. Their new stuff never gets old. Their guitar tone is near ballistic so much depth and distortion you can chew on it. They always improve their sound with each record even though their already so far above many bands out there. I'd loved to have their Randall/Fractal amp setup.
Hearing this song changed my life when it comes to loving heavy things. And I gotta say...you just made it sound even better. The tone, Mario's roaring vocals, the production....holy shit, man. I have chills.
Ola and Fredrik know each other. Ola has borrowed gear from Fredrik for some videos, and Meshuggah use Olas signature amp live alongside the Axe-Fx now, if I recall correctly
Anyone's got an idea of what effect is used on the second solo ? Ring modulator or something ? Sound whicked ! Thanks Ola, this a great help for learning the song ! :)
I was thinking the same thing, ring modulator with maybe a digitech whammy in there as well? It sounds like the kind of thing carbomb would do... still trying to figure out how the fuck they made those laser sounds in dissect yourself as well 🤣
As much as other bands have copied Meshuggah to death, I've yet to hear a band that can even approach the kind of sound Fredrik gets on his solos. Truly makes me wonder if he's even human
How did I miss this?! Great cover! If Mario gave me one of those looks like you see in the beginning of the video in some dark alley way, think I'd shit my pants then start whimpering.
i wish the whole song sounded like the intro lol i mean i get the song needs variety( it is djent after all) but that intro nuts. we need more tbh edit: it kinda does actually
You got Fredrik to play his solo on YOUR cover of HIS song? lol This is Ola winning.
Ola the winnerer
Fuck yes!!!! Love the guitar and vocals, but you left out the most important part of the song. The bass.

This was THE HARDEST song I've ever recorded. I'm already a Kidman fanboy but now I've got even more respect for the guy. Holy shit.
A damn solid performance! Grats :D
FearedMonster you absolutely killed it my red hatted plumber brother. Sick job!!
You're an amazing vocalist, dude!
truly man, respect for that performance
Great Job!!! That was awesome!!
I was hoping for an otamatone solo but Fredrik is still ok, I guess.
Mirko Fustinoni lol
I obviously love everything about this almost as much as I love you Ola
Misha Mansoor so you hate it?
the bromance hits an akward stage... where will they go from here?
I'm not sure, but we do know one thing... A Precision Drive from Horizon Devices will somehow be involved!
This whole thread is incredible
I found musical candies!
No one solos like Fredrik Thordendal.
Mihai Moldoveanu SEE: Allan Holdsworth
This is the correct answer.
actually he is a judge fan of allan holdsworth their solos are good af
Mihai Moldoveanu
Pure magic
The last solo doesnt sounds like Holdsworth. It sounds like fucking mecanic hounds procesing their targets.
that guy who played the solo is a n00b
Thanks a lot, you made me spill my milk...
😭
Mario is such a killer vocalist
Holy shit! Fredrik is using True Temperament frets! Never seen on an 8-string!
I just LOVE how Mario sits in between Anselmo and Kidman as far as vocal tone. Parabéns from Argentina!
He sounds like Machine Head's vocalist
Well said
When's the Futile Bread Machine cover?
No one can out-meshuggah meshuggah.
Still a good cover thou.
So much balls in your tone Ola. Really nice to see Fredrik support you as well.
doing a cover is one thing but getting a band member to join a cover is nothing short of amazing, fucking awesome!
OMG you got the almighty Fredrik to play the solo? Wow. It's a pity though he never plays it as recorded on the album, I find the album version to be a pure perfection
My favorite thing is the second solo.

@@Gatapotata frederik used a breath controller for the solo, probably why he doesn't play it as recorded
@@tooth9047 no... What I'm getting at is that Fredrik being a jazzer improvises every solo... As it should be...

The goosebumps when you see that stoneman...
The best breakdown ever written and ever will be written.
damn, your mate does some serious vocals! that dude rocks!
I'm late in seeing this, Excellent Vocal & Guitar work. I think Fredrik approves, appearing on it tacitly implies it.
Meshuggah and Feared tour please. Greenville, SC.
My favorite Meshuggah song! This is fucking awesome!
EPIC!!! How to hell did I miss this 5 years ago??? :)
I'm a simple man. I see the word "Meshuggah" - I press like.
Christian Larsson very original zzzz
lol
I only press like because there is no 'LOVE'.
Indeed
That shake of your head that you do when you realise how old this song actually is. Great cover.
yeah theyre truly ahead of their time
True temperament frets on Meshuggah's guitars now? Coolness!
Have you thought about releasing a cover album with the feared? Yall do so well with covers a whole album would be awesome!!
Just watched the Bloodstock livestream and had no idea there were more Fredrik solos to be heard. Awesome job on everything
My biggest dream is for Feared to become a touring band. You guys seriously have THE best catalogue of Death Metal albums under your belt. (If you decide to tour please stop by Copenhagen)
*Cries a little* Pleeeeeaasssseeeee ;_;
This guys vocals are fucking incredible, gives a whole new dynamic to the song.

Nailed the vocals and of course the guitar work is on point too.

Mattia Pavanello Shuggah Shuggah*
No disrespect to your compatriots of course but *damn* this song just incredible with this vocals.
Conhece o Mario? Mas que Mário? Aquele que canta Meshuggah pá caraio!
Absolutely brutal! The two of you together is monstrous.
Hearing this song changed my life when it comes to loving heavy things. And I gotta say...you just made it sound even better. The tone, Mario's roaring vocals, the production....holy shit, man. I have chills.
Dude has Mario lost weight?! Fuck yeah!
Sounds amazing. Any chance of a video on how you got to the guitar and bass tone on this? Gear and mix?
WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS AMAZING. HOW DID YOU GET THORDENDAL?!?!?!
Jonathan Silva I imagine Swede bands are tight knit to some extent.
Ola and Fredrik know each other. So yeah.

By far my favorite part!!!

Is absolutely insane
What a beast of a cover!
Sick! Do more Meshuggah. Mario's voice is spot-on.
The BEST cover I ever heard of this song. Gotta be something in the Air or Water over there.
Anyone's got an idea of what effect is used on the second solo ?

If anybody was going to do this, I can't think of anybody more capable.

WOW FINALLY MY FAVOURITE MESHUGGAH SONG!!
As much as other bands have copied Meshuggah to death, I've yet to hear a band that can even approach the kind of sound Fredrik gets on his solos. Truly makes me wonder if he's even human
Sounds Great!
I think I like this more than the original haha awesome work Ola
Outstanding.

My God 😢 gave me tears of joy 🤘🏻
Who else gets FREDRIK HIMSELF on a cover of a Meshuggah song? Ola and the boys from Feared, of course. That was NASTY.

That Ibanez is friggin sweet!!!

Hey Ola love your gear vids and covers but can you please post a link where I can buy my own Mario?
Best alarm song you can ask for
Oh ! Yeah !!! so brutal Meshuggah :p
Mario : what microphone did you use ? "shure" ... ?
Rain Sweet All vocals on videos and Feared albums are recorded with a Shure SM7B!

I'd love to see you guys do a cover of Day of Endless Light by Dååth.
i wish the whole song sounded like the intro lol
i mean i get the song needs variety( it is djent after all)

Holy Moses that really is Fredrik
Mario is such a badass vocalist!
One word: FUCK! And one else: AWESOME!
I was about to comment when this video come out but I forgot it lol
Mario is a monster! Brutal vocals!!!!
BRUTAL
Y’all should play at weddings
Mario is such a great singer!
oh my god fredrik!!!!!!!
Great cover. I hope everyone realizes that Thordendal is very improv with his solos
like a true fusion player, never plays the same solo twice. Most tasteful lead guitarist in many genres.
That Ibanez looks like a massive viking battleship!
