This young lady's playing is a perfect example of how important each one of the support instruments are to the character and style of a song! I am an 81 yr. old music lover from back in the days of Little Richard, Nat King Cole, Chuck Berry, and Gogi Grant, to name a very few from my early years, and I recognized some of the tune's names just from listening to her bass playing, used as an introduction to those songs!! If you stop and consider how many great songs start out with the introduction, the very 1st few notes of a song, being played by the bass player, you will understand what I mean. Not only is her talent awe inspiring for a youngster of her age, but she has only taken one step through that open door into a future of monumental fame and experiences! And the BEST part of her playing is not the finger movements or the style of picking she is using but it is her total enjoyment of what she is creating each time she begins to play on that bass guitar! Her music is her "playground" and she is all into that playground as she frolics through the different sets of "swings" and "slides" and "parallel bars" at her disposal in her "playground world"! I cannot make a statement about this young lady which does not require a simple "." after the sentence, that is how thoroughly impressed with her work I am, and I hope to see much more of her accomplishments as she moves forward into the "gymnastics" of fine tuning her talents and using her joy and passion from her works to help others in coping with a troubled world in which we live today.
I don't know what is more beautiful, the way of playing, the passion and love she has for what she does, the girl herself who is so tender and sweet, her father's guidance, the memory she is building or all of them. previous. You're great and very good, Ellen!! I take this opportunity to wish you Merry Christmas and a happy year 2023

Well said
I don't know what is more beautiful, the way of playing, the passion and love she has for what she does, the girl herself who is so tender and sweet, her father's guidance, the memory she is building or all of them. previous. You're great and very good, Ellen!! I take this opportunity to wish you Merry Christmas and a happy year 2023

💯
🥰
Nice words… true ✨🙏
You said exactly what I was thinking.
Not only an outrageously good player for her age, she seems like a sweetheart of a kid to boot! Great job dad!!!!
Who wouldn't want her as a daughter? She's precious 💞!
I just discovered this channel, accidentally. I have to say I'm impressed! Kudos to Ellen as a great bass player and also to the family and those who support her in this, what a great way to spend time with your children. Wish you the best The limit is the sky :)
This kid is INCREDIBLE!!! The most amazing thing to realize is that she will get exponentially better as the years go on.
The title should be called “Ellen Jams Out of Her Mind”. She is such a joy to watch, the skill, the personality, everything. She’s AWESOME!!!!
I've been playing since I was 16 and I'm 65 now. Her absolute joy of playing is so inspiring and these videos make me so happy. Keep it going girl and don't lose that joy!
This girl is incredible. She has so much fun playing bass. I hope and wish, she will remain like this and nothing in the world will ever change her attitude to music in general. Good luck and great success little lady, I'm watching you. One day you will be one of the best.
What a blessing it is to have a father who encourages your talent and teaches you. Ellen you are such a wonderful bassist. And your personality is bigger than your bass! Keep playing sister!
Let's just say we have no information on that.
JESUS
I have been playing lead guitar for about 40 years. I stumbled across Ellen today. I am amazed how good you are! Also- how clean you play. And the sheer joy, fun and happiness you play with- don't ever lose that. Sometimes bands, some group members and a whole lot of other stuff can try to kill the fun....DON'T let that happen!! Keep on being excellent and happy. Don't change.
I just love Ellen's Joy of Music! She doesn't just know the songs, she knows the history behind the songs, too! Thanks to Ellen and her great parents. Your videos always brighten up my day.
I am speechless. All those great bass lines nailed perfectly and she's having so much fun!
Ellen, your bass playing is incredible! I love your enthusiasm for music; your emotion is so raw whether you have just powered through a difficult selection, or you have just correctly guessed the year of release of a song that is "old". I love that emotion that you share with us; your love of music is shining through and I believe that you are going to do very well in your future musical career, whether you are creating the music on paper, or creating the music with your fingers. Never lose your love for music and keep that joy and laughter flowing through you wherever you go; it's very contagious. You brighten my day, whenever I get to hear you play.
I'm not sure which is more wonderful, her sheer ability or her beautiful smile and beautiful laughter. Her joy in the whole experience makes me smile every time. Thank you Ellen from an old, ( and okay) bassists. You are what I wish I was. God bless you.
She is progressing very quickly indeed but her unmistakable feature is the sheer joy she shows whilst playing!
well shes like 9
@@soofitnsexy True that but for some children learning music is a chore put upon them by their parents. In her case, it is a real pleasure, highlighted by the complicity between her and her father :)
@@MEGAMIGA of course!! im a teacher and I was just saying that 9 10 11 12 year olds I have all have a ton of joy!1 no kid I teach guitar and bass ...are forced into it
I get as much joy from Ellen's happy attitude and smile as I do her playing. So young and yet so accomplished. I can't wait to hear her in 10 years. What a pro. Thanks dad!
Ellen is 100% talent, 100% joy, 100% charm. Never seen or heard anything like this before.
You go girl! 🤗
She is absolutely adorable! What a talent! Her smile at the end of each tune is just heart melting. You go girl!!!
Gosh it's just so fun to watch Ellen play and grow in music! Love her enthusiasm and positive energy.
My first time watching this young lady. Her giggle, her smile, her talent. This is the one to watch as she grows into an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.
Ellen is an angel. There is no other explanation for her. She somehow escaped the kingdom and made her way to this Little Rock, so she could make people smile. Succeeded. I’m a fan for life.
She's so good and has such a great attitude and her soul shines through. She brings me so much joy. It brings tears to my eyes. God bless you!
I just love the light that shines from Ellen when she plays. This has got to be the happiest little girl I've ever seen in my life. What a brilliant future there is ahead for her. Keep thumping that bass, Ellen. And make sure you keep your grades up. Education is key whether it's music or life. You've got both in your hands.
Greatest daughter-father bass duo on RUclips! Thank you Ellen for the beautiful playing and the passion for great music, and thank you Dad for supporting Ellen's musical journey!
These days, too many parents put a cell phone into the hands of their children to keep them occupied. This is an example of a much much better choice.
definetely the only daughter-father bass duo on youtube
..., Realmente uma grande alegria ver uma jovem tão hábil com mãos divinas e memória idem !!! 👍👏👏👏👏👏💥💥💥🎼🎵🎶
Humor e sorriso 💓💥🔥😊
You just don’t see the pure joy and sparkle in her eyes in young people much anymore. It’s such a pleasure listening to her play, she’s having a blast! 👏
Dad - I love your sweet encouraging coaching. It is touching and lovely to see. So much fun to see your growth, Ellen!
Just look at the joy in her face! The look you get when you feel what you play, and boy can she play! I had to subscribe. Amazing work , dad and daughter! My hat is off to you both!
Wow what talent at such a young age! Her enthusiasm is so infectious because you can see she truly loves and feels what she is doing. Keep rocking little lady, you are light years ahead already!
I have been teaching fretted instruments for 20 years and you are so impressive!!! You are already at the level of most professional musician and to think how you will be in another 10 years, absolutely amazing!!! Keep practicing!!!
Thanks for always showing that music is supposed to be fun. Keep smiling, girl. You always pick up my spirits.
wow girl! You are incredible I love your music
Ellen, you play these bass parts to perfection. When I close my eyes I can hear all of the other instrumentals in the originals! Thank you Hovak for sharing her talent with us and for all your loving support in her efforts.
you liking her clouds your judgement as cool as this kid is she struggling to play most of them.
Man she plays them note perfect.
Better than bass players 4x her age!
Lol shes not bad for a kid but srsly get your ears checked if you think shes anywhere near perfect
What an amazing young musician. Her hands are incredibly strong and could only get that way through hours of practice every day. Cheers to her and supportive father. What a great way to bond with your child.
I not only love the fact that she's a 9 year old bass prodigy but also the fact she's well rounded, loving both old tunes as well as newer tunes!! She's awesome!
I love the fact that she’s OBVIOUSLY having so much fun playing! Keep up the great work, Ellen! Kudos to you!
She is full of positive energy and it's very contagious. We grown folks could all take a page from her book and apply and make this world a better place! Keep Groovin
She's absolutely adorable and a fine musician for her age. Heck, she's a fine musician for any age. Her parents must be very proud of her. And she should be very proud of herself as well. Her little legs don't even reach the floor on that stool, so she's not even tapping her foot to keep time. This Little Giant has a great internal clock and groove. Bless you little one, thank you for doing the bass proud, and for sharing your playing with all of us other bassists. You have a very bright future young lady.
It's always amazing seeing young children play an instrument very well, but more so that they're having fun playing music. To have started young and already playing at a good level, there's so much potential and opportunities for her. I wish her the best, keep at it, ride the ups and downs, but never lose the love of music.
I love how happy playing bass makes her. A real joy to behold.
This video blew my “my hands are too small” excuse right out of the water. HOW.DARE.YOU? 😂 Thanks for allowing us to share in your joy of playing - the most infectious groove on the whole video.
Pedophile.
Not only is she an amazing bassist, she is so comfortable in her own skin that she is a true inspiration.
Incredibly talented, adorable smile. I love that she not only plays, but also says the history of the songs as well. Dad is a great teacher
I have been playing music since I was 9 and I am 46 now. My favorite instrument to play is the French Horn followed by the Bass guitar. Your laughter after playing something correctly is absolutely amazing. I wish you all the success in your future endeavors. Seeing how much you love to play is the best thing to witness in the world. Please don't stop.
My daughter is 16 and has played flute for 10 years so I understand the commitment you make to become a great musician. You are beyond great and keep up the good work! Make sure you thank your parents for making it all possible, great job guys you have nurtured a very gifted young lady.
Flute is way more difficult then bass
I’m truly amazed at her talent. Playing the bass with small hands and short arms is extremely difficult. Good for you Ellen
You guys are so awesome. I’m proud to be a human today. As a dad of an eleven year old girl myself I was impressed how you got her to learn such a great bass line in the song “give it away” by the Chili Peppers but also carefully navigated around the album name. Ellen is precious!
Yes, you wouldn't want her using the words blood and magic.
My god, I got goosebumps at the sound of Steavie Wonder.
Congratulations, girl you play a lot !!!
That's what music is all about. Bringing joy both to yourself while playing it and to the others who are listening to you.
Unfortunately a lot of us musicians forget that during our career and give too much focus to things that are in fact not so important.
So, thank you for bringing joy to this world, and I really hope you'll keep it forever in your heart. ❤
I wish you all the best!
Absolutely precious. And what a memory of the information she was asked to give us on camera before each song. Love her humor!
The talent of this young lady is amazing. But her love for her talent is what really captures me. Her happiness and enjoyment of her craft, and undoubtedly her life in general, is what really stands out. I'm glad you enjoy these classics. You do them all justice!
Ellen you are so inspiring. That expression of pure joy is definitely something that the world needs more of, keep rockin' girl!
Omg !!!
What an amazing talent. Don’t ever give up. Kudos to her Dad who not only taught her but influenced her to learn who’s she’s playing , the album, & year. You can tell she’s having a blast. God Bless & keep up the good work. 🙏🏽❤️
It's so awesome to see a little girl playing bass. I'm from Brazil, and you've got a new fan! Congratulations for gifting your talent to us! You are on the right path.
You're extremely talented, Ellen and adorable to boot. It warms my heart when I hear your dad coaching in the background as you name the songs, albums, bass player and year. You two sound like you're having so much fun and that he's an amazing man raising an amazing daughter.
Not only were some of those selections some of the all-time greatest songs, but they're also some of the most CHALLENGING basslines to PLAY - and you played them FIERCELY!
We're all so impressed by you and thank you for the love you express through your sincere enthusiasm.
Rock on, kiddo!!
I love the giggles in between songs!
Her joy and enthusiasm are OFF THE CHARTS! 😁✨
So talented. Her parents must be so proud. Also kudos to said parents for allowing her to follow her dreams.
and also not money hungry abiut the channel..
My favorite all-time bass player! Each time Ellen plays with that sweet smile and with such a laugh, it brings me joy. Thank you, Ellen! And I also commend you Hovak for being such a gracious father providing full support to Ellen's musical gift and making Ellen a happy person.
Ellen, Im from Russia... Sudaryna, I want to thank you and your dad for your hard work... I want to wish you success in musical creativity and improve your skills... Good luck to you...
This kid would carry her whole generation with that knowledge and sheer talent!
Fantastic, Ellen! Especially the last two pieces ("I Want You Back" and "Sir Duke"). Your sense of rhythm is utterly amazing.
I've been playing guitar for 52 years and you're my favorite bass player of all time! You put a smile on this old musicians face!! I hope great things are in your future Ms. Ellen!!!!
I've been running a private teaching studio for the last 30* years. So I fully understand what kind of dedication it takes to prepare this level of performance. But the depth of teaching is so very satisfying to find realized in such a beautiful father daughter relationship. So much love for the art of music making . . . Thanks for sharing your journey, a tremendous gift.
Ellen, you are amazing. As the father of two daughters, the pride your dad must feel watching you play could fill oceans. I hope you take your craft to great heights and travel the world with your talent. You're smart. You're funny. And you are a truly awesome bass player.
As a father I agree 100% with this! I can’t wait to see her name on an album with her bass lines being covered by other bassists.. YOU NAILED SIR DUKE!! 🎉🎉🎉
I love hearing her laugh! You can definitely hear happiness in her voice
Sweet Ellen, you did absolutely great. Please give your dad a hug for being such a great musical teacher, coach and parent, and your mother for helping you and dad to do this.
She has such a mature feel to her playing. Kudos to Dad for being such a force in her life!
thats that neuroplasticity that young people have. they are geniuses at learning if they are interested in something enough
It takes a lot of strength to play the bass. It is amazing how great her technique is.
I bet flea ihas a huge smile on his face seeing you play his slap bass riffs so well.
Don't make us picture Flea's smile.
I do and I have a nice smile
I'm 68 years old..been playing bass guitar since I was 16 years old & this little Girl just hurt my feelings.. with her little Baaaad self 🥰..
I am in complete awe. She played my all time fave bass lines that I haven't even mastered yet! My heart is so happy right now to watch you play with such joy, that's exactly how I feel when I play. You are a true musician meant to make people happy! I only hope our paths will cross some day!
