My steps, 1 piece of toilet paper folded to wipe initially, rinse with water, soap it, rinse again, and dry using a small twoel used only for that part and it is changed daily. Thus 1 toilet roll last me a few months!
At least in Germany, I haven't seen a clogged toilet in decades. And the only few cases that I know of were the result of people throwing stuff in that they are not supposed to, as todays toilet paper has seen decades of research and innovation to prevent just that. And using trees for it is not a problem per se, because some countries have a net growth of forests or there is a healthy balance. Problematic however is the amount of water used to produce toilet paper and the carbon footprint of the whole industry around it.

@@ChandanKumar-hj5eqI am 67 and it had gotten where to clean the mess with TP alone would require shall we say 3 portions of TP, not to mention I am overweight and not very limber. During the toilet paper shortage made a toilet sprayer - putt wash and continue to use with ending applying some tans cream to toilet tissue . There is a reason bidet toilet sprayers are not standard in all toilets but haven’t found it .
What I don't understand is with just water and no soap or object like a flannel, tissue, paper, etc, how do you clean with just the water? Everyone's like "oooh water is sooo much better!!" makes me scared of what you do in the shower.... also, doesn't that mean you now wander around with a wet bottom?! Or, worse, is it water + left hand, and I'm supposed to trust some grubby Indian dude saying he "washed it after"??? But it had poo on it and now you just have a wet, poo-ey bottom, surely?!?
Brilliant suggestion I made my own bidet sprayer and thinking I can hookup a soap dispenser also . Might be easier to to buy a garden 2 gallon pump sprayer add some liquid soft soap with water . It’s the drying part also so i’ll buy a small yard blower at Walmart .
I guess someone should have this much presence of mind or common sense that they can pay dry their butt with paper towel or tissue paper after cleaning their butt with clean water. No need to roam with wet butt. And wait what? Wet poo-ey butt? Lost your mind or what? If someone cleans her butt properly with clean water after doing their business, it's become clean and hygienic and removes all the poo. Idk how can someone tell a poo-ey butt after cleaning the poo. On the contrary when someone cleans it with tissue , that doesn't clear all the residue which in turn makes the butt poo-ey butt. And the friction of tissue and skin increase the chance of rashes and infection. So yeah!! Water is far better if someone has a Lil common sense and know how to use it.
Actually, we use soap water to clean 'it' and afterwards wash our hands(yes, there is a separate wash basin with a soap based hand wash, equiped with water and a towel) And just so you know, you don't have to trust 'some grubby indian' guy, you have to trust science which says that cleaning with soap and water is much better than paper.
All it takes is a jet shower spray to clean the bottom and then washing your hands with liquid soap or any other kind of soap and then just wiping your back with towel ..boom it's done..

This is less the Indian vs the western way and more most of the world vs western typically Anglo nations.
Right, but I’m doubtful if Africa, Japan, Russia or even middle Asian countries like, Turkmenistan, Ujbekistan, etc use water. I think it’s only Indian subcontinent and south East Asian countries that uses water.
Chandan Kumar yeah probably a sweeping generalization, but in Japan they use bidets more often now, In Africa the Muslim parts of the north, east and west use water also.
hmm! then it only seems like the problem is with the west.
I don’t understand how is there people using toilet paper it’s disgusting
Question was: Why use toilet paper?
Answer was: Why use toilet paper?
Great video
Main reasons is stoopid people don't want to touch poo but they don't realise that thin layer of paper is not going to stop wet poo >:)
From all this science they haven't understood water is hygienic than toilet paper?
It's like smearing your poo all over your back compared to spraying water and not dirty your hands.
Indians do have bidets and toilet sprays in their toilets too in recent years. Not everyone uses the mug it and flush it technique :)
Finally!!!! It took a pandemic of such degree to get West realise that water method is a viable option.
Not sure if it will be implemented though, but at least someone gave it a thought.
@Joe Al better you come and check ....Lol....You guys may be made lot of toilets and no space for hospitals to build and treat people that's why lot of them are dying daily .......but now it's us who is saving life's of the world with our drugs for covid(can't deny anymore ).....So give respect and take respect
Bidets are a staple in many European countries
@Joe Alwhen no answers ,, this may be your replies ...Accept the reality man....You don't know how developed we are ...😁...It's better you to sit there in your toilets with papers that more than worth for you like commenting everywhere about a country that really not true ...If you don't have any job in your country better come here ..We will give atleast a job to clean our toilets with a great wage...so that you can count on our toilet numbers 😁😂 understand the toilets of India.
Are you on bloody crack cocaine? Covid 19 is destroying India too and rising. There's a differencd between feeling proud and telling lies you know.
The Future I guess you’re an Indian. Inferiority complex is pretty like a household disease here.
And that's the reason I don't go to swimming pools here in the UK! Because I cannot imagine the person swimming in front of me still have some bits left at the bottom 🤮🤮
Can't believe these westerners are so behind when it comes to hygiene
I think you are
You only know half of the story tbh
and they wanna claim they are superior🤢🤮
I came here for an answer found none.
Love Japanese toilets. Never felt so fresh in my life
'A jetspray a day, keeps the sh*t away'
We italians use toilet paper first, then water - the so called "bidet". We are fond of cleaning our asses well. We are the cleanest!!! Ahah. Just kidding.
I use toilet paper to clean my car XD
Let's campaign using water is more healthty than tissue ...
When I first time went into the US, and used the bathroom in JFK airport, I surprised that there is no water to clean up, and the toilet paper was and still is an issue for me. But every time I go to the public toilets in the US, I consume more than 50% of the toilet paper roll until I feel that I really get cleaned, and I think that's not an issue for the US itself, otherwise they should ask me in the boarder control if I can effectively use their hygiene system :)
Three elderly women surorised me , as I urgently relieved myself in the woods. 🥵🥶 one of them came up to me and brought me TP. 🥶🥵 Was that helpful, or cheeky, what do you think ???
Carry wet wipes with you
I found an easier way. dip the toilet paper in water from a sink and then wipe. Its not as good as jet spray, but it does the thing
Despite technology is epic in the US. They didn't even bother to use water as a better alternative to wash them arses
@@dominicj7977 you can use a plastic bottle as a makeshift bidet
Make a hole on the cup
Fill the water
And splash it onto your bum
Now you figured it out that the water is better than paper.
Thumps up for the Indian way... WATER
Environmental friendly and most hygienic
What do you use to dry off your bottom after you've washed it with a bidet? Personally I now use both, but use less toilet paper than I did before.
What 👍for India?you better learn history the rulers India was muslims, that how the so called Hindus were using water kettles which muslims used way before anybody else, indeed islam is the truth so it will prove time and time again, the losers will not understand.
@@ferozathaha2856 funny enough.. pity on people who believe in God. Go and have a life instead of wasting your life.
@Joe Al have you faced any problems from India....Almost every comments you say india doesn't have toilets ....Better you understand the things and criticise ....May be u guys build more toilets than hospitals and other infrastructures ..And that may be the reason for the many lives gone due to corona ..But we still fight and secure lives ...Even we export most of the antiviral drugs for the corona virus ....And you say it's all because we don't have a toilet instead we invested on other things like this unlike you guys invested on toilets and toilet papers😂😂
@Joe Al haha....Haven't u heard about WHO said about India ......First of all listen and study things well man.....It's really waste of your time to hold on this stuff 😂😂
I am from India and I have never used toilet paper once in my entire life
OMG, look at great britain now and then. In 18th century they thiught of looting world and now talking about toilet papers. How humiliating 😂😂😂😂😂
Or used an indoor toilet I guess.
As an Arab it’s a nightmare for me when I travel to Europe
Why people why
How can you wipe your bottom with paper and feel clean ?! I don’t understand
One time i went to America for the first time because of my cousin wedding.. so she sponsor me and my brother to this nice hotel.. after arriving the hotel.. my feel tummy have something on it.. so i went straight to toilet.. after i dump everything.. i try to find the paip water.. but i can't one but instead toilet roll beside me.. i can't even wipe it because it kinda cringe me out.. i have no choice pull the shower hose.. and thank god it long enough to wash..
Cool, and good thinking there! And of course you cleaned the shower hose after use, I hope!
@@karlostjuroukei1802 don't worry.. i did wash it as well.. it just feel weird to use the toilet paper to wipe it.. i can feel something ain't right for no reason 💀

even in India, the water hose/jet spray is used, nobody uses the jug anymore
Even baby wipes is more hygienic than Toilet Paper.
We asians are the best at hygiene, use water Europeans it will lead to a healthier life
Do not use the word europeans yxou racist we do not have the same culture and backgrounds in europe
It's so barbaric
Just use water
My preferred method is using toilet paper first and then cleaning with water.
@@MoonlitGoddessDeV paper gets all the big stuff and water cleans the rest
Or you can do it the other way around, it'll get the excess gunk and dry your ass.
They don't wash their bottoms? That's disgusting. They don't want to put their hands below, but they let a (possible) small amount of excrement dangling in their bottoms?
1:56 that was kind of confusing, you're talking about japan, with korean text in the background.
Filipino's With Water and Soap.
You have not feel heaven if you never used water
That Indian guy was a savage
You know something's wrong when even people in third-world countries prefer bidet than toilet papers.
You don't even need to use hand while cleaning your butt by water. There are water spray system now.
Just use water but use left hand and soap
I use both. First i wipe up with the toilet paper then i wash. Its clean and refreshing.
Where do u dispose the paper then 😐
@@jasimjaleel2295 it just goes through sewer.
I do exactly opposite, first wash and then wipe the water xD
Wash first dry second gang
You should reverse the order
Am I the only one that uses water AND toilet Paper
No the best way of cleaning is first by washing than drying it by toilet paper
Easily you can use water to wash and toilet paper to dry and clean
Being an Indian, I have just one question.....How does it not smell.
I can tell you, it often smells
@@robotko_ruslan 😂😂
Remember guys thats why they use deodorants 😂
My steps, 1 piece of toilet paper folded to wipe initially, rinse with water, soap it, rinse again, and dry using a small twoel used only for that part and it is changed daily. Thus 1 toilet roll last me a few months!
I believe they use paper to reduce the usage of water cos some countries dont have much water
It costs water to make paper, or it needs water to decompose one quickly!
It’s not like they don’t shower
Hhhhh what about trees that paper are made
Funny thing is that countries withless water use water lol
Idk why they do this, it's kind of disgusting to think of.
Dude what is wrong with using water...it's cleaner and common use ur common sense fir once ....if a bird's poops on you will u clean with paper or wash with water ...then do the same to ur bum as well
@@kashifpetkar5806 I never said that one thing is cleaner or better than the other. ;-) It's simply a cultural thing. Like not eating with your left hand that you have hopefully washed with _water_ and soap. So what is wrong with you? ;-)
@@kashifpetkar5806 stfu sharukhan
@@markus.schiefer The left hand being considered unclean hence not used to eat is a mostly a myth cuz we traditionally drink water holding the glass in our left hand.Righties are more abundant hence the right hand is generally used in meals.
The issue of cleanliness is surprisingly missing from this long comment.
Well, I DID install a bidet on my toilet, and use it every time, but it simply does not do the whole job. While I have cut my TP use by 1/2 to 2/3rds, there is still "mud" to be wiped clean while drying.
azzir325 I think you’re unaware of the fact that with water we use our hands as well to wipe it. 😄
@@ChandanKumar-hj5eq So while the water is spraying you are down there with your hand? Yeah, unless I'm actually in the shower with soap in hand, that's not happening. But thanks for your comment. :)
azzir325 yes we’re down there with our hand. And then we wash our hands with soap/handwash. The old saying is that you have to use your hand which reduce the risk of haemorrhoids.
But I think for those who are just using TP, using water and then wiping with TP, repeating this process for two rounds would be enough.
@@ChandanKumar-hj5eqI am 67 and it had gotten where to clean the mess with TP alone would require shall we say 3 portions of TP, not to mention I am overweight and not very limber. As I learned more about bidets and the simple ones that are easily installed on a regular toilet, I decided to give it a try, and found that almost every time, ONE portion of TP is adequate, so I reduced my use substantially. Water first, then finish with TP. I am happy with my new system.
azzir325 That’s great 👍🏻.
The fact that people use toilet paper baffles me.
The fact the people use water or toilet paper baffles me! Plant based diet you don’t need either

I use water because its the cleanest way i know
People who still use toilet paper for weeping their ass in the daily basis = Primitive
They used rocks to scrub their ass?.. Wow, thank God that Sand Paper wasn't invented at that period.

We Indians usually wonder how in the world do westerners wipe their butt...I hope corona and shortage of toilet rolls would teach them to wash down their with water...which is the healthiest way... don't waste trees....
During the toilet paper shortage made a toilet sprayer - putt wash and continue to use with ending applying some tans cream to toilet tissue . There is a reason bidet toilet sprayers are not standard in all toilets but haven’t found it .
The us and Europe people are cleaning them ass with amazon trees 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
What I don't understand is with just water and no soap or object like a flannel, tissue, paper, etc, how do you clean with just the water? Everyone's like "oooh water is sooo much better!!" makes me scared of what you do in the shower.... also, doesn't that mean you now wander around with a wet bottom?! Or, worse, is it water + left hand, and I'm supposed to trust some grubby Indian dude saying he "washed it after"??? But it had poo on it and now you just have a wet, poo-ey bottom, surely?!?
Indians use soap too and no, poop doesn't remain on your ass if you use your hand to clean it
Brilliant suggestion I made my own bidet sprayer and thinking I can hookup a soap dispenser also .
Actually, we use soap water to clean 'it' and afterwards wash our hands(yes, there is a separate wash basin with a soap based hand wash, equiped with water and a towel)
And just so you know, you don't have to trust 'some grubby indian' guy, you have to trust science which says that cleaning with soap and water is much better than paper.
All it takes is a jet shower spray to clean the bottom and then washing your hands with liquid soap or any other kind of soap and then just wiping your back with towel ..boom it's done..
We Muslims do both. We clean our private parts with toilet papers at first. Then we use water to wash our private parts again.
Now in france in some companies you can get punished ( laid off ) if ever you are caught entering the toilet with a bottle of water
For what reason is that the case?🤠
Actually Japan mostly uses toilet paper too, it's far more common than bidés or bum-showerheads.
They are being westernized. Soon their culture will disappear and they will adopt to ours.
@@Fish-ey9lt Yeah no the majority of asian countries still use water for washing their asses for example the Philippines a very westernized asian country doesn't use toilet paper for their asses
Water Method (it has multiple water methods) is the best one especially when trees are being cut down for water (or i misheard it) i was shocked when i heard trees are down for papers to be up .
The other best thing is the Chinese or Japanese method where water comes from inside the toilet and prays upside that should do the trick i haven't tried it yet so no comments lol
I just use a bum water gun and then a little bit of toilet paper to dry my bum.
