Thanks for the awesome lesson! I've been playing and teaching a long time (50 years), but for some reason never thought to play along to jazz recordings that didn't have a drummer. I haven't looked at your Spotify playlist, yet, but it didn't take me long searching on Amazon music to find several jazz trios that didn't have a drummer. A quick search of the internet also turned up some trios and duos without drums. Inside of ten minutes I had a playlist of almost 500 songs. I will definitely pass this along to my students.

Awesome!! Yeah, first time I came across them was this particular Oscar Peterson album and it changed everything for me. There are TONS of other jazz albums to play along with once you start looking around, too. I will start adding more and more tunes to that Spotify playlist (and eventually I'll port it over to Apple Music as well)

could you give a couple of albums that we can find on youtube, for those of us who don't have Spotify? Or some pointers for putting together a Yt playlist?

And one album that I've spent a ton of time with is the Kenny Baron / Dave Holland album "The Art Of Conversation". I've played along to this version of "In Walked Bud" at least 500 times: ruclips.net/video/ivvGBLjG824/видео.html
      It's a TON of fun!!
