This is so great! Girl, keep going! I'm a soft classic who hates traditional soft classic recommendations (dresses, skirts, anything with buttons, high heels...) And this is pretty much right up my alley! I already use some of the recommendations you give here :) Good to see stereotypes being broken!
Filipa YES YES YES YES!!!! I KNEW there were classics out there that despised the prim and proper look. There’s too much room for expression in personal style for anyone to be restricted to a stereotype. Now it’s funny because some classics are just naturally drawn to the stereotypical classic look (I consider those people the epitome of their archetype). But if we look at the ESSENCE aspect, there’s no way that everyone that has a classic body is going to jive with the “classic aesthetic”. So in your case, your essence might pull through a little more yang which could be expressed in an aesthetic like this 🖤
@@elyssa_aesthetic yes! I do prefer something with a bit more spice! A touch of sporty and military, rock and roll and street style), but also a bit classic and feminine to go well with my lines! Basically, it always needs to be practical and comfortable!
Same here! I'm an absolute rocker at heart and soul, but I need to keep my style super feminine as well, because it represents my personality
I'm thinking Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn 99 is a perfect example of this. She always looks balanced and put together, and strikes a great balance between yin and yang elements in my opinion. Coincidentally, she's also one of my style icons.

I’m really grateful for this video. I fall into the classical type and sometimes feel like I’m just supposed to dress business/preppy all the time. I struggle when I expand my options and I feel like I’m wearing a costume.

Thank you so much for this video!!! I’d figured out I’m a classic but am drawn to incorporate a touch of edge . This clip emphasised /confirmed my classic style (except my hair - curly and I can’t be bothered taming it). And now I know how to add en edge without sacrificing my classic style! I love tailoring and feel comfortable in it. Hate ripped jeans, raw edges. You describe the style so well and better than any others I’ve watched. Thank you! 🙏

Thank YOOOU I'm Happy this video exists!, I'm a Soft Classic (I think... but I'm a classic for sure) And honestly there's no force on earth that is going to make me dress super prim and proper. However there are some things I can't pull off very well (I would love to be a Flamboyant Gamine because I really love rock/tomboyish) but with the outfits you showed here I'll be more than happy refining my style.
Wow, you really identify the style, pieces, and your understanding is more laid out. You should be the top RUclips Guru go-to person when it comes to style / picking the proper pieces to bring it home, as for me helps my brain comprehend everything properly without second-guessing myself. This is the BEST video I have watched about being a soft classic!! I am just now learning about the Kibbe types over the past few weeks and have determined (after taking the test multiple times) that I'm a soft classic. The reason I kept taking the test over was because the soft, feminine, frilly thing is just not me - I definitely love a rock & roll vibe more. Finally a video that feels like me - even the makeup is EXACTLY how I prefer to wear it (semi bold or bold lip and a defined eye). And I absolutely know this is my style when you were reviewing the 3 looks at the end and you said about the 2nd outfit "you know what this look is missing" and I said the envelope clutch right before you did haha. Girl, thank you for this video xoxo

I love this because that’s exactly how I dress and I just figured out that I’m a classic -or seem to be based on all the quizzes articles and videos I’ve been watching lol-and I naturally dress like this !!! I have animal print smooth slip on sneaker wedges I wear like everyday with dark denim skinny jeans -and I usually wear a blazer or big soft luxurious faux fur coat if it’s cold (which it is right now) and a silky top … so I have the smooth dark jeans and smooth materials either on my top both solid color and have shoes and jackets that are leopard and cheetah print -and if I wear a solid color blazer I wear a floral top underneath-that’s my daily look … in the summer I wear Jean shorts floral top and leather strap ot twisted sandals and very Yang big angular /geometric jewelry or I wear pointed flats, ruffly flowy mini skirt with patterns and a solid color top and more delicate earrings and a Jean jacket -or in the winter I also have a sweater dress motorcycle jacket and over the knee leather books -and I have a leopard purse :)
THANK YOU!! I was so bummed when I realized I'm a classic earlier this year because I love edgy rock style so much. I was starting to think I might have to get rid of my band tees and combat boots in order to commit to a more classic aesthetic, but I was still clinging to them thinking "There has to be a way to do this!" Now I know, clean lines, minimal accessories, neat(ish) hair and I can still wear all my faves♥️

Great video! I have this type of "alternative" style; I'd love to see a video on how it applies to soft gamines (my body type).
Off the top of my head: denim cuffed at the ankle, cropped leather jackets with lots of zippers and/or studs, band tees with graphics, booties, combat boots, miniskirts in denim or leather, cropped trousers, and making sure you have waist definition

Cruelty free leathers and velvets are my jam ✌️need more velvet in my life! Never seen a rocker with tan or nude accessories tho. In my opinion the only rock outfit was the first with different shoes/bag and the girl with the striped trousers.
I think Anine Bing is the best exemple for this kind of style : clean,simple,chic,minimal and the most important rock & roll 🖤

Love this because it works the other way as well. I can't help being alternative at heart but I really like to add that dash of girlyness and structure and avoid looking really "yang" or grungy.
My classic friends NEVER look prim and proper. I think its a made up stereotype pushed by pinterest. However, they don't need many elements to easily bring off the rock n roll vibe. If they go too far and pile on lots of loud oversized elements (fringes + leather jacket + studded belt + big boots + big hair and winged liner ect, then Classics can look like they're unkempt and messy rather than intentional.
Tom Jones exactly!!! They could honestly wear well fitting jeans, a black shirt, black booties, a silver ring, red lip and sunglasses and look R&R Chic 🙃 They never have to worry about looking “plain”! But I wanted to give some visual inspiration for the those looking to branch out!

I feel like these aesthetics videos are the missing link. My color palette is definitely cool and radiant and there's a pretty good chance I'm a Romantic in the Kibbe system but I still don't know what to look for when shopping. I looked at Olga's 18 Ethereals and found the aesthetic I like but I don't know how to put it all together.

I just personally feel that personal aesthetic unlocks the doors to color pallet and your “vibe” which plays into your lifestyle and personal interests.

Tom Jones yes, this is exactly the issue I’m running into. A lot of it is up for interpretation and I really want to get all the details in order before diving in. I think it’s a fairly complex system but offers more guidance in finding personal style than the Kibbe system (or at least his Metamorphosis book) does.

Love everything you have provided, but what about summer looks and styles.
I've been trying to pull off rock and roll aesthetic for years and it never works because it always looks too "put together"... I think I'm a romantic and now I understand why this look doesn't work... can you do a rock n roll for the curvy types?
This might be weird but maybe invest in a leather jacket or something and make it look very... used? It sounds dumb when you buy something really expensive and basically want to make it look “old” but the more worn in it looks, the more effortless you look. Also, with the hair, don’t make it too neat. Let the wind mess it up and tuck it behind your ear without worrying if your part is on the right side or not.... those little changes make the whole fit look effortless and cool (which I by no means am but my friend dresses this way and I recently got her tips lol)
Also your curvy size is a good thing. You can cinch in your waist and make those black jeans look bomb. There’s so many styles to look up on Pinterest! :)

tef leal yes but it’s won’t be immediately. I have a list of videos I’m working on and that ones down a little further. I wanted to focus on common “opposite” aesthetics for different types first. I do have a Pinterest dedicated to each though if you want to find some inspiration!

My SN version of rock n roll is more based on styles pre-dating punk, such as glam. I believe Marc Bolan and Maria Schneider (last tango in Paris) , whose styles I love, might have both been SN. Plus I just always feel drawn to tans, caramels and brown over black and fabrics like corduroy, velvet. I would prefer a parsley printed funky pair of boots or just cowboy inspired to the Versace studed pumps.
