This series and the finished lapbook is absolutely stunning! I've enjoyed watching the progress. To anyone interested in creating junk journals and lapbooks, this is the ultimate inspiration. Thank you!
After watching this series (absolutely amazing).... and having so many flashbacks, memories stimulated from my childhood, and even though I’m only 60, I have decided to change my status from old, pensioner, and all those other names. I am VINTAGE.
First off, thank you so much for showing us how to make this amazing fun-filled folio. The time you spent to make it AND film it for us, is a gift. I imagine that this is something I could make for my new niece and new nephew as a keepsake. It would be something for them to take in the car to keep busy and to keep their secret notes with all of those hiding places. ...And wow, did that fabric come out cool. Love it, def ethnic vibe. Reminds me of my tie-dyeing days but an updated style. Thanks Nik.
I know this two years old, but I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this series, and will be going back to the beginning to try my hand at making my own. I love all of the flips and flaps and pockets and tucks. It's fun!
While watching you fill each pocket and envelope I couldn't but think what an awesome botanist's field journal this would make! I can just imagine tucking away different dried flowers and leaves, and pictures of the fields or forests where they came from. I love how it turned out, especially with the classic literature scattered about. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely wider spine! Mine is SOOOOO full, but fabulous! It’s been so fabulous making this along with you. Mine is full of goodies to make and add to journals.....but I love just opening up all the bits and pieces as an interactive activity in itself!! Just so much fun Nik! Thanks so much for this journey!😘👍
oh so awesome Nik! Love the dyed fabric and the finishing touches in the lap book. You did inspire me to make one. It was so fun. Worked right along side your videos playing on the iPad. You are such a blessing. Thanks for all the wonderful projects you share. You are such a special lady.
I have lived this whole series! You e given me lots of ideas. People in these photos don’t smile because it took several minutes to take one photo. A solemn face is much easier to maintain than a smile. In my family if kids kept their solemn face, after the photo they got candy!
I'm so glad I'm the type of person to skip to the ending of the end of the story. After seeing the finished product, I can't wait to watch the "middle of the story"! I've been busy corralling all the parts and pieces to get started. Since I'm the type of person who needs a purpose for things, I have a hard time adding things that don't have a purpose. So, that being said, my lap book is going to be a gift for my sister. As I am the keeper of our mom's "stuff" the lap book will be about her. Pictures, love letters, her school work, pay stubs etc. Thank goodness for pack-rat parents! Unfortunately, my mom is in the middle/end stage of Alzheimer's Disease, and her stories to us are permanently locked away from us. Collecting stories and memories from family will be a fun project. I hope it turns out well. Thanks for giving me a path to follow/wander in this memory journey. Cheers! Leslie (Sorry my post is so long... :)
Totally loved the book covers used on this project Nik. It will be one lucky persons treasured possession for sure. I'd be using that for a great trip, record keeper. Don't forget to add a nice pen or pemcil. There's enough room, just. 😂 As for the dyed fabric. Really liked that. Does anyone else see animal heads and torsos... Just staring out the cloth....weirdly all dressed in shirts.? Proper trippy. 😊
Wow, it’s awesome Nik !! I’ve enjoyed all 12 videos of you sharing the making of your 1 of a kind Lapbook !! Thank you very much for the discount in your stores and I will be taking advantage of that. Your material you ice died turned out really great … good going … well done !!! Thanks Nik for sharing your wonderful talent will us, we love you for it ❤️❤️❤️
Good morning Nik. Enjoyed the process of the lap books, amazing. It is a work of art and talent. I want to be you when I grow up! Let’s see more creations.🌟
absolutely loved this series! really great being able to hang out w you & see your process, I learned a lot! such a cool project 💞and the ice dye is fabulous!
My mom was a computer programmer back in the day when the computer took up a whole room and I remember those computer punch cards. I even have some myself. Good advice to make the spine wider. Very cool fabric! You are the master, Nik! TFS the inspiration and creativity!
There's no way this lapbook could have turned out better. Loved every bit of the full series. I don't often drop everything I'm doing to jump on something that inspired me to do so...but this one I did. (which isn't to say I'm particularly good at finishing projects before I start new ones...but this one was an immediate re-direct) Many thanks for sharing this with us all. You make having given up tv so easy.
Spent my last two and a half days watching these videos again. I bet I’ll be doing that again cause there’s so much to learn. Should have watched these with a pencil and paper in hand to take notes and remember to think about the steps before taking the steps. Forethought is not exactly my forte as well. I have two covers all ready to go for a lapbook of my own. I wish I had found something like yours but no luck. However one of the covers is this super gorgeous tuscan orange. Please make more of these lapbooks. Maybe one specifically for a teacher. Lov’ya Nik! 💕❤️💕
Have loved the lap book series Nik. I think I’m gonna have to start again and binge watch them all whilst doing a book of my own. Love your humour!! Thanks for sharing
I'm a little sad this series has come to an end...it was really, really, really fun to watch!! I loved everything about it and how the lap book turned out Nik! And as for the ice dying....WOW!!!! Truly Fantastic!!! I must say!! xo
Thank you, Nik! I've been working nights, so I've been watching this in the morning before bed & at night after bed! I love the Lapbook, and thanks for showing us start to finish. I always learn something cool from you!!
This series has been wonderful! I will be watching it again and again! I wish I could tell you how many people all over RUclips have been watching and mentioning this series! Thank you!
Oh Nik❣ I really loved this series, and your ice dying turned out fabulously ❣❣❣ Thank you so much for sharing everything that you do. You truly are one of a kind, and you always make my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤💋😍❣
Hello Nik - I love the lapbook project, and your dye project was fantastic. What a wonderful pattern. When you said "ice cube" dying, I envisioned freezing colored water into ice cubes and letting them melt. I did Kool-Aid dying, of floss and yarn with my students one year, and that was the method. It is less of a mess if the students don't have the powder in their hands. Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and talent so generously. I am looking forward to creating a lap book a la Nik in the near future.
I've been following you through this project. OMG😱 I'm crazy about it. I was trying to make one with you, but got called into service with my grandchildren and foster grandchildren. My daughter had to go out of town. So I've spent the last 14 days caring for them. Six of them. So I had to save your videos. When you said you needed washi but didn't have any there I was yelling Nic it's right there in your book lol thanks so much for all you do. Big fan here
Very cool; I think one of these empty would be a nice gift and ppl can fill them up with keepsakes, notes, tickets, etc. Like a smash book, only better!
Un grand MERCI à vous pour toutes ces vidéos ... j'ai beaucoup aimé ce travail et toutes les belles idées que vous avez !!! J'adore le résultat d'un style inconnu pour moi.... Encore merci :-)))))
Oh my word..... I felt glee when i saw this video come up! Good grief this is an amazing project!! How much fun is this?? Thoroughly have enjoyed this entire journey/saga/process!
I have been on Cloud 9 with this series! My 'stuff' took forever to arrive, so I'm, like, clear back on the steps from vid #2, but still....loving this so much, I got sorta emotional to know that there won't be more episodes to the Lap book. Still, another Seraphina is something to look forward to....AND cannot wait to see the little bookcase. LOVED the ice dying--a total win. Looks heck and gone easier than my old tie-dying escapades .....emphasis on 'old' as in old hippie.... Thanks for all you share with us, Nik. It means more than I have words to express.
Your work is so professional. I would cherish a lap book from you Nik. You are truly gifted. Thank you for these videos. I’m going to try and make one of these, but I know already it will never be as nice as yours. :)
I know I'm 2 years late to the party but I absolutely loved this tutorial! I just finished making my lapbook following this and its my favorite think I've EVER made!!!
I love the lapbook! The book you used for the cover, WOW, I need one. You always have such amazing ideas. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us. The dyed fabric looks great. Maybe one of these days I will try it
I loved watching the "Lets Make a Lapbook", so inspiring and I cannot wait to find just the right books to create one of my own. So very much enjoy watching your videos, thank you for sharing your talents!
I love this series! Can’t wait to try my hand at it. I have two different books from a series of books that will work. I want to do my book as a tribute to the creative women in my family, the quilters and embroiderer sand crocheters. Should be fun. You’re killing me with the ice dying at the end, it’s so cool and I have the perfect fabric. Thank you.
Amy from Al John Build your Stash made a journal inspired by this series and told viewers to check you out. I only watched this one WOW! Love, love it. I will have to watch the whole series. WOW! TFS
I really enjoyed this series. It was fun to see what you were going to come up with. The ice dying turned out amazing, too! WOW! THAT is something I'd love to try out. I'll be checking out your sale for sure. Thank you so much, Nik!
I very much enjoyed watching this series of making your lapbook. Its inspired me to make one of my own! Your lapbook came out awesome! Loved it! On another note, the sale is also awesome. .. thanks so much! 😊
I really loved watching this series! ☺️. I finally started watching your videos. I think your great and very talented. I have two sons with ADHD. I wish they would use their energy to use their talents. They both are very talented in different ways. Enough about me. Now I know what a Lap Book is. I might try to make one. I really love the way your fabric turned out. A wonderful way to tie dye. I've never heard of that way. Since I watched these videos late, I've missed your sale. Oh well, maybe next time.

Actually, you are in the kindergarten of maturity 😎😀
Wonderful thought! Some younger people here in Europe name us „boomer „ and they don’t mean it gentle…🤷🏼♀️, but your idea is just great❤️❤️❤️❤️
