My take: This song feels like a fairytail or a story/lullaby a mother would sing to their son/daughter.
The male version: The warcry one would hear from their peers as they become what the story/fairytail was about
Both equally wonderful.
You might like Nami Nami (Lullaby) an Egyptian song. It has a similar calm/fairytale ambiance. They use traditional instruments in this version.

It's actually based on a poem from the Icelandic Egil's saga in which Egil had his first kill at age 7 and his mother praised him for it.
The song was originally a poem about a boy that took his first life and his mother praised him
All lullabies are actually dark topics and same counts for children play like ring around the rosie is actually about the plaque. Just over centuries people forgot what it's actually about and the reason such dark things was taught to children is at the times of hardship that the kids would cope with it better if their parents for example really would die young from the plaque for example. It's meant as prep for the hardships life's gonna bring.

Such a shame what they did with Halfdan and Harald, if only they had kept them both historical.. could have told some great stories. Instead one of my favourite Norse king was made a mediocre character at best. And the brother of Harald..

FUN FACT ABOUT THIS SONG it's actually a poem that originated from a young boy that killed his first person. He was in such shock about what he's done and his mother was very proud of him. when he was 10 and his mother was proud of him telling him that in stead of putting him under house arrest, the village should buy him a Viking raiding ship right then and there and send him out to show them how its done. So the song explains that since he killed a man (hue many foe-men), he'd grow up as a warrior within the shieldwall with his brothers and sisters in arms. He'd saild to distant shores on his galley, which is a type of boat/ship used at that time. "WHAT IS BETTER - TO BE BORN GOOD OR TO OVERCOME YOUR EVIL NATURE THROUGH GREAT EFFORT" " ANOTHER WAY TO SAY IT, "TO BE BORN GOOD AND RESIST THE ALLURE OF EVIL OR TO USE EVIL FOR THE GREATER GOOD?"
