What make a viking a viking can you please tell me please
I'm from Norway, today was my first step back in the gym after two open heart surgeries this year, I teared up when I lifted weights and heard this song coming up in my ears.
I am happy to be alive and well!!
Edit: I did not expect this much support and kind words!
I am 32 years old for the record.
Born with a defect on my heart valve, found out about it in February and tried to repair it first unsuccessful, hence second surgery replacing it with a mechanic heart valve.
I had over 50% added size of a normal heart when we found out about it, had it checked this week and now it's only 0.6 cm larger (before it was 3cm larger).
Thank you all from the bottom of my (partly mechanic) heart 😅

As for someone from Malaysia who's far away and never been to any of the Scandinavian countries, I always have a love for Viking stories and this song has the most epic depiction of that. It feels like I was born in a wrong country. Anyhow, I'm thankful of where I am and much love to all, from Malaysia. Love this song btw.
Pretty sure Vikings had some mind of belief that anyone could be a Viking. So like, if someone came to them and said they were a Viking and wanted to prove it, they'd be given the chance to prove themselves. If they did, they were accepted without question and welcomed as a long lost brother or sister.

My father just passed away Friday your song will be played at the spreading of his ashes I’ve been fighting with the VA. He was a vet Vietnam vet to get my father cremated that go fund me didn’t work. I played this song over and over every day. Since it’s passing, your music gives me strength to continue to fight as he does as well watching over me. Thank you so much for this song it has literally saved me.

It is a good time, Sabaton released "Steel Commanders" month ago, "Christmas Truce" a week ago, today another epic version of "Valhalla Calling" from Gavin, man, I hope the good music won't stop coming like this anytime soon.
This is going to be my last version of Vallhalla Calling for a while, I need a break from it now! Haha. But I have lots of cool new stuff coming soon including an epic Dune song in December :)
And yes, the original VC will always be my fave, I just love the mellow spiritual vibe in it. But I love this version and the metal version too, as well as all the amazing covers I've seen people do, from Peyton's viking chants to Jonathan's power metal... all fab

As a non native Native American, I’d say there is no such thing as native to anywhere other than where one is born. We all came from the same place, just depends on how far back you want to draw your line? In terms of Americans: England? Germany? Italy? North Africa? Alaska? Siberia? Mongolia? China? Middle East? Africa?
Our ancestors are all the same people. Tribalism and this desire to fit in to a neat group, which all that really divides us, is where the arguing comes in.
Most Americans being guilt tripped about Europeans settling in the Americans wouldn’t even be aware of the perpetual wars between Tribes here. They wouldn’t know that Natives are most closely related to Siberians today. Or that those Siberians are closely related to people of Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
It’s all one tree. One life.
Everyone's culture is changing. White people are not what they used to be. It is only in Ukraine and Russia that there is still a place where they are not afraid to die.

This song is real awesome, and a version in Old Norse would also be awesome - I am upper intermediate level in Norse and Icelandic, and I highly recommend learning these heavenly languages, as they are as gorgeous as English / Dutch / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese / Danish / Welsh and are way too pretty not to know!
