Vegas' BEST REVIEWED Steakhouse! Is SW Steakhouse in Wynn Worth It?

- Las Vegas steakhouses are famous all around the world. While this channel is based in NYC, and the famous NYC steakhouses are all iconic, Vegas is also known for a robust steakhouse scene. Not only does Vegas have locations of many, if not most, of the iconic New York steakhouses, but there are also many steakhouses unique to Vegas itself that can hold a candle to any of the best steaks in New York!
We ate at Las Vegas' Golden Steer on the first stop of this Vegas series. The connection between the Golden Steer and Elvis and the Golden Steer and Frank Sinatra, among other A list celebrities of the time, are well known. However, the highest reviewed steakhouse in Vegas, at least according to Google and Yelp, is SW Steakhouse. SW Steakhouse and Golden Steer are both similarly reviewed, both very high accolades of higher than 4.0 on average with thousands of reviews, but SW Steakhouse is the best steakhouse in the Las Vegas strip, while Golden Steer is more outside of the strip.
Is SW Steakhouse worth the hype? It is very expensive even by Vegas standards. For context, Gallaghers in Vegas charges around $60 for a NY Strip, while at SW Steakhouse we paid more than $80. Is Vegas' Most Expensive Steakhouse really worth the price? Or is it all overhyped and just expensive because it's in the luxurious Wynn Hotel?

Happy Lunar New Year UA!
Good luck to the Eagles this Sunday!

I took a bite of pizza today and without thinking, I made your food face. My husband asked me what the heck I was doing 🤣🤣🤣
Surprised he didn’t call 9-1-1 thinking you were having a stroke. We love UA🥴
Surprised he didn’t divorce you. 😂
Do you remember when he was eating at the golden steer and when he did that face, the waitress asked him if he was okay? 😂😂😂😂

I like you explaining your no notice show up rules. That actually *does* help ensure your credibility. Good on you!
Don’t lose the average guy side of your reviews. I appreciate it.
I could go to the Wynn as a once in a lifetime thing, but would choose The Golden Steer because of your reviews
A smart youtuber would combine fine dining with cheap fast food places. Something for everyone.
I SO appreciate an honest and thorough review, so THANK YOU!!
UA looks like he's in pain when he likes something lol
true and goig to sleep
What a great, honest review! I really enjoy your channel! Thanks for the work!
The best thing about SW Steakhouse is all it takes is a $20 tip, and you will get seated with a perfect view of the Lake of Dreams show. Best $20 you will ever spend in Vegas. The food is pretty good, too..
I didn't know that!
What is a lake of dreams for those prices it must be life changing
For those prices I better see the afterlife ... Pretty good ain't cutting it for an 195$ piece of meat
Love you reviews. Keep up the good work.
You know the wait is killing me! If I die before the premiere, I wish UA all the best.
Did you make it Patrick? Should I order a search and rescue?
Hope you don't die patrick if you do it's all wong!
Thank you for giving us a taste of Vegas. I thought you'd enjoy SW Steakhouse a little more, but when you ordered the NY strip.i knew there would be trouble because you ordered the same thing at Sparks and they make the best sirloin anywhere Golden Steer looks like the place to go. Looking forward to your return to NY reviews ...I'm the meantime , be well.
Love your videos my friend. You seem like such a genuine guy and are always a joy to watch.
Thank you for your honesty UA
I love your channel UA, please keep your originality and never sell out!
Excellent as always. Even when you have the big bucks I hope you generally keep to choosing the menu options most of us would be able to experience as a normal special occasion. You’ll absolutely love Japan when you get there.
A bit of advice for when you eventually go to Japan. There are numerous kinds of Wagyu that are considered far superior to Kobe, (And are more expensive, of course) but because it's *so* rich, make sure and be careful about how much you eat in a short period of time. (IE don't go to two steak houses in one day, or IMO even back to back) because it sort of just overwhelms your taste buds so it starts tasting all the same and you miss out on the uniqueness of each kind of Wagyu. Also avoid Ichiran like the plague for Ramen, there are about 100 billion places that are superior and cheaper.
Bugsy and Meyer's at the Flamingo is definitely worth a try. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Excellent video. I was at Prime last week in the Bellagio and felt similar. The sides, appetizers, and dessert were spot on. Some on the best I've had. I equated the steak (bone-in ribeye) to a steak I would expect from a truck stop diner. SO disappointed and not worth the price.
I LOVE SW!! For me it’s the BEST!! The vibe, the food, the service, all of it is amazing
Great review
We appreciate your honesty UA, God Speed with the channel. Oasis and Blur definetly two of my favorite alt rock bands ever, you are spot on.
Great content
what was the little piece of food on the skewer next to the steak?
Love your videos.
I worked at the Wynn and Encore for almost 4 years until 2022. Great property! PS the window only looks out to the patio and the Lake of Dreams, not the Strip 😊
I completely agree with you. 🎉
I appreciate your disclaimer about jus showing up and using a name they wouldn't associate with your RUclips channel and that you always pay out of pocket. Respect. You need to mention that a few more times in coming videos so people know...especialy newbs to your channel so they know exactly what's up. Keep up the great content UA!
That creamed spinach looked super delicious! I LOL'd when UA said the texture was "slimy" 😂😂😂 That dish isn't for everyone.
UA, I love your channel. There is something so authentic and real about it, keep it simple like you do, and I am sure you will grow and grow as a channel.
Couple of remarks:
1. Could the bread be more like a Chala jewish bread, the kind eaten on Friday night at the Kidush?
2. Gauda is a Dutch cheese and is pronounced Ja-oo-da
1. It’s Challah. And challah is just egg bread w honey. And it doesn’t taste like a pretzel. Ans there would be no salt.
2. It’s Gouda. Not Gauda. In the states it’s pronounced Goo da or Gow da. In the Netherlands it’s How da.
Went to Sushi 35 West a little over a year ago because of your review! Great spot
Love your dedication bro keep goin king of steaks
Thanks! Wow what a compliment!
Bro, great vid! If you're looking for foodie company the next time you're in the Bay Area, give me a holler 👍
UA paid a premium to eat at a restaurant in the ultra high class Wynn Resort. So a $86 NY strip steak would cost $50-65 at a regular Las Vegas resort. The high price effected UA's review so if it had cost less, the review would've been above average.
Excellent video! Honest. V cool.
I'm hooked on these food reviews - UA's vids feel so honest and relatable compared to other high production "foodie" reviews. Keep up the great work!
@uaeats F.Y.I Kobe Bryant's parents name him after the city Kobe not the beef. At the time the beef was that popular yet.
100% wrong
The strip steak that you got at Sparks is obviously the top notch premium. That steak looked incredible. Dark crust on both sides. The middle looked like the consistency of a filet.
8:32 Props for the server offering half sides...unusual for them to offer a discount instead of trying to sell 2 different whole sides. I'd probably tip more for that. Brilliant, I'd rather tip her the difference for the intel instead of overspending without it.
UA… there’s a gem inside the Wynn. The tableau. Gotta eat breakfast or brunch there and if the weather is ok you must get an outside table by the pool. You will love it. Get the juice flight!
I liked Sparks steakhouse on 2nd Ave in NYC. If you've never eaten there, I would give it a shot. I used to take my clients there. They liked it very much.
Where big boss was killed Paul Castinlono
SO GLAD you ditched the ragtime music. Good work on this vid. Appreciate your channel description. Good stuff. Choosing a steak you could review elsewhere gives this vid great relevance.
Did you check if that steak was grass fed? That could explain the lack of marbling.
Your description of the pretzel made me laugh. It looks like the pretzel bun you can get at lidl for a dollar
Thank you for your mission statement
Good job UA and travel buddy!
Wynn has always had a great buffet too, which is my personal favorite, so I hope you get a chance to review it some time.
I thought you had to ask first if you can video tape it. Wasn’t one time at some high / afternoon tea place a staff came during your meal and told you weren’t allowed to video there, but you told her you had called ahead and permission was granted?
Nice review
Thanks for the review. It takes guts to be honest and I appreciate your unbiased views. A rarity in this world, whether food or otherwise.
Started watching your content recently. You have all the trappings of someone who has a bright future. Keep up the good work, God bless and much love sir.
This is a win for me. Mention of hunter x hunter and great steak!? Big W
You mean it was a Wynn for you?
I’ve been to Wolfgang’s Steakhouse (midtown location) and Rocco’s Steakhouse in NYC.
Wolfgang’s is my favorite, The Porterhouse, Cream Spinach, German Potatoes, Mac n Cheese, and that Crabcake is great.
Only been a few times for special occassions
Couldn't make the premiere due to work, but all caught up. Thank you for a great Vegas series, can't wait to see what's next! If you could pull of a Japan trip like you mentioned, that would be amazing.
UA is my favorite food reviewer. Steaks, pastrami sandwiches, burgers. A man food reviewer
We loved the lawry in vegas the creamed corn was out of this world
Lawry has been on my list to go to! I've heard good things. I haven't been to SW yet, lots say it isn't as good as when Steve Wynn ran the resort
Steakhouses are the best. Love your videos!!!
The bread doesn’t look like pretzel roll but more like a brioche roll
Hey where's your vegas video where you got French onion soup? I wanna know where you went but I can't seem to find that video.
I love your Travel Buddy... Bring him along in future Video 😃😃
As a Vegas resident I love Herbs and Rye on Sahara. The 16oz ribeye is delicious and The Golden Steer for the filet mignon and the table side Ceasers salad. That New York strip looked dry and the spinach was extremely overcooked, I avoid steakhouses on the Strip because the prices are ridiculous.
Isn't that kinda true of the strip in general? I've only been there once and we're talking the 90s...
I usually go to SW around 2 out of every 3 years. Including the ambience, it is my third favorite steakhouse behind Strip Steak and Bally's Steakhouse which has been replaced with Binion's Steakhouse. My last visit to SW was a little off. The flavor wasn't up to SW standards. It was probably just that one occurrence, and I will definitely not let a single visit stop me from going back. Although the price might. I love the show on the pond every half-hour.
The steak at 11:20 looks awesome. Best part is that there are no juices on the plate, so they definitely rested it well.
You have quickly become my favourite food vlogger. I think you're channel is on the cusp of an explosion. Great stuff.
Normally I don’t complain about steak prices cuss I have eaten at many expensive steak restaurants. But damn even those prices gave me skid marks.
are you a fan of steak and eggs? i tried that for the first time recently with 2 sunny sides and 3 strips of a tender well done steak. fried to warm it up in the same pan as the eggs. its insane. its not bacon but just as good.
You should review the Orangetown Classic Diner in NY!!
I love how they list roasted tomatoes as an ingredient for the mac n cheese but it's actually just a tiny piece sitting on top
If it’s in the dish it has to be listed. Way too many folks w allergies as well as fussy eaters.
Ah, I was wondering if you were going to go to either this steakhouse or the other really famous (expensive) steakhouse and sure enough, SW it is. The other steakhouse is really much more expensive overall - they literally have an A5 Wagyu steak that's like $1200. So the prices at SW are much more in line with other higher end spots but overall still more expensive than steakhouses in NY or LA etc. BUT, SW makes a good steak. At least when I used to go to Vegas. Last time I went was in 2002, and it was a terrific time. But then again I also was staying at the Wynn that trip and boy gambling sure a thing eh?
The bread looked like the egg bread called Challah. Not pretzel. Imo.
This guy knows how to review a steak. Killer job, UA.
I love the non-pretentious and laid back review, liked and subscribed
Awesome review! There’s a ton of places in vegas to eat! Maybe upon your return, you could do places like Earl of sandwich, not necessarily fancy restaurants or buffets. But hey, it’s your channel, do your thing and I’ll keep watching! See ya on the next one, UA!!
You're my favorite reviewer of places I'll probably never eat at.
Note not all Wagyu is from Kobe. It’s just the most well known in the west. There’s many regions that raise Wagyu: Matsuzaka, Ohmi, Hilda etc. let me know if you come to Japan!
oh man that placed looks awesome... doubt ill ever go
Enjoyed the video. Like the idea of making reviews accessible... but I think if you go all out to a place like SW you have to go with the Kobe or at least the Rib eye or Porterhouse.
Nah. Go downtown to Oscar’s at the Plaza instead. Best steakhouse in all LV for price and quality.
UA! A wisconsin supper club trip might blow you away, just a thought!
Ok I was anxious for this review because SW is my favorite steakhouse in Vegas. I will tell you I was shocked at the bread. They changed it. Use to be a variety of breads in a basket. Pretzel sticks, muffin type bread and onion bread. Also the bone in ribeye is to die for. Wish you had gotten it but it really went up in price. Sides are excellent. Too bad you weren’t thrilled but I can’t say I blame you.
Go to SW Steakhouse for the life-changing Mac and Cheese, good to know.
As for the NY strip, it is too lean
and too well-trimmed for my taste.
The mac n cheese was outstanding!
I enjoy your reviews.
It would be nice if you could review a nice restaurant that isn’t a Steak House.
I’m addicted to this channel!!! Fair and honest food reviews!!! Keep going UA!!! Awesome channel!!!
Special shout out to man bun in the video. Mighty brave to be still sporting that in 2024.
I was juuuuuuust thinking that. ❤
It's like Jules in Pulp Fiction with his Jheri Curl
After your review of the menu prices I agree that the food needs to be equal to or exceed the stated value. In this case it appears the prices leans more toward being on the Wynn property rather than the quality of the offerings. When I lived in Las Vegas you could get high quality food for a reasonable price but Las Vegas has fallen into the trap of providing fancy trappings to qualify the high prices. Good reviews.
Hey UA, I’m a fan and was curious where about are you from? I see you rocking the Eagles hat a lot and talking about NJ, I currently live about 45mins to an hour outside of Seattle but am originally from Gloucester City/Camden City area and the Eagles are my team
If you ever get to tampa try burns steakhouse! Very similar to golden steer! Great content.
Looking forward to seeing you in Japan UA!
Another great video! Creamed spinach is supposed to be creamy. That looks like every creamed spinach I've ever had. Same with the NY Strip. It looked great but no different than what I can get at Texas Roadhouse or Outback. If you want better marbling, you have to go with the ribeye. Good review. I look forward to your next video.
I have eaten there twice.First time three guys split a NY and a Rib Steak.Best we have ever had.2nd time last year there with my sons we had a Porterhouse. It was good but I preferred the Rib and NY from the first time.
Excellent❤
Another great review!
Thank you!
Keep up the great work brother!
The only time I ate at a steakhouse in Vegas was several years ago. My friends and I made a reservation at Del Frisco's. It was the best steak I have ever eaten, and I'm from NYC. But maybe it was so good because my friends and I drank a little... ok, maybe alot... before eating at Del Frisco's.
@uaeats SW is solid when I had it years ago. You should try this place off strip next time you’re in Las Vegas called Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. Solid steaks and you can even get a foie gras butter on the side if you want that really kicks up the umami flavor.
15:15 Looks like sous vide to the perfect temp, then grilled when it's picked up. The grey band is so small, yet the char is looks like they just mark it to finish. For these prices I would assume they're immersion circulating all of the steaks then marking to finish... and resting. That's why the sear isn't so good, but the steak is perfect inside. On that note, the beef didn't look properly marbled, which I think UA mentioned. Strange to have good technique, but lesser quality meat, and not as charred as it should be.
SW is the best steak venue in Vegas. Tried most and been disappointed by many but SW ticked all the boxes. 10/10 IMHO
Mac and cheese looked amazing. Just drop by for an order of that :)
Well done UA
I will tell you, my wife and I fell this restaurant is perhaps one of the best steakhouses that I have ever been too. The service was impeccable,
It looks like stouffers creamed spinach for much less money.
UA, I appreciate your honesty, diligence and impartiality in these videos - in my opinion, it makes your videos a great deal more appealing. The SW review takes it to another level, although I wonder if that pretzel bread MAY have been elevated by some butter (unless I missed it). Arguably, at that location, it should have delivered immediately without augmentation (now I sound like Spock).
UA 🇨🇦 likes you.
