There's many angles one can obsess about regarding Devo; Their work with Eno, the Akron scene, their innovative marketing, their musical philosophy, their videos, subsequent film and TV work, I could go on, but... I've got to say that this is a triumph of songwriting, a landmark. It can stand alone against almost anything out there. It's truth, stated with such economy and wit, means more to me every year, and it brings unashamed tears to the jaded eyes of this 56 year old relic. Thanks Guys.

Devo man! I'm sorry I still think they're one of the greatest bands I've been listen to this song since I was a little kid. Still one of my favorite songs I've covered this song and different bands I've been in the awesome awesome song from an awesome group legendary pioneering group! I have a two-year-old little girl who is obsessed with yo Gabba Gabba and everytime I see Mark mothersbaugh on there I'm like oh man , DEVO!, it's so funny my daughter's mom is in her mid-thirties and she didn't even really know who devo was until I told her you know whip it
I've never seen this! Gates of Steel has always been my favorite song of theirs because it is their least cynical, least Devolved, flat-out song. So nice to see it performed as I always imagined it. Chokes me up.
