Being a musician, this group is so amazing to me. First, it's so hard to come up with something original and unique. Second, once you have done that, you have to find people who are talented and can get behind your vision. Most musicians I know have there own idea about how things should be and they rarely coincide with other people's ideas. Third, after you get all these things together, you have to convince club owners, managers, producers, record companies, etc that you aren't insane and there really is a market for what you're doing. Pre-recorded Devo Muzak is brilliant!
I agree! It drips on down like a mist from above.
Still way ahead of time, it didn't happen yet.
DEVO are a genius bunch of musicians. They're rue pioneers of the craft and were not afraid to tell us we were NOT the most intelligent things on the planet - and they were right all along. They knew humanity was headed in the wrong direction. Look at us today.
WHIP IT !!! ...... WHIP IT GOOD !!!
I love that Letterman had weird acts on his show. I just wish he wasn’t so awkward when he interviewed them. It makes it seem like he wasn’t able to fully embrace it.
Their corporate theme is masterful, considering the deeper meaning of their songs
I have a selfie of myself with Mark and I treasure it.
I was 12 yol when I heard about that same album in 1983.
Letterman was a good interviewer with people he understood. Clearly he doesn’t understand DEVO.
8:51 and now half the world is doing it! 😂
I saw DEVO LIVE in Sydney on 26/11/2023.
Brilliant show.
At one stage the Guitarist broke every string on Guitar.
The bouncing balls.
Booji Boy 'accidentally' tripping up the step as they left the stage.
One of the Band members said "He meant to do that"
In typical DEVO form, we'll never know.
