  • How to make a simple pipe-based setup to create a fog screen.
For this you will need some pipe, (I use 1.5" pipe and a few elbows, an end cap, a coupler), a fog machine, a way to chill the fog, and a projector with something to project.

I subscribed within 30 seconds. I've seem a lot of attempts at these screens, generally in three groups - ultrasonic water, hot fog, and chilled fog. Professionals seem to use chilled fog, and you're the first (only?) video to nail it.

I'll have to try this tomorrow. Thank you for not being one of those trade secret hoarders. We were going to get something like this from TransWorld one year but they wanted thousands of dollars for what should be simple engineering. We tried pipes and had a condensation issue with ground foggers, A2 and A4 from Froggy's Fog, but I might try to bring back the manual chillers we had years ago with one of our smaller foggers like the one you have in the video. Thanks again for your work and teaching, best of luck!

Thank you! I hope this works out for you. I had considered keeping the method a secret and maybe selling kits. But I just don't have the energy or time to keep track of everything involved. And besides, I learned so much from other haunters through old web pages like "the monster list of halloween projects" that I figured this was a way to pay it back to those that I learned from and maybe inspire new prop makes to continue to create and share. Thank you for watching! I'd love to hear how this works for you.

Because it is drawing air into the chiller, trading volume for density. In his case the additional volume allows more water vapor to be forced out of the chiller, making it appear to create more fog. Without the water tank and ultrasonic, you just get a similar effect as blowing the fog through a small fan. Bigger cloud that is easier to see through.

This year I got a nice front yard I will be transforming and everything and will be dressed up passing out candy. I have even went as far as setting up a facebook group and writing a story about a Demon that is in the town I moved to so maybe as to get the adults into it as well (I will be dressed as a Demon this year and have been giving little hints and clues in the story as to what I will be looking like and where I will be found in town to see how many will figure it out and all. I may end up getting a second 1000 watt fog machine and doing a wall like this behind me with the Fire also maybe a second area with a Random Ghost showing up at random times to scare people more. I will be using your Roberts Fogger set up I just bought a pond mister and am wondering if I was to add ice in the water if it would help or hurt the effect of the fog laying low longer.
