Good video Ben. Can you go over the oiling system in some of those Foxbodys? I see you have a few in recent videos. Can you go over the dry sump oiling system?
great video! Question- does the coloration depend on what type of fuel you are running? For example, 93 octane unleaded pump gas vs. 110 leaded race fuel? I've seen pictures of those running octane booster and that looks orange.
I figured it depends on the fuels chemical additives but the basic light gray/tan color still applies and is a good indication of an effective burn. If it is brown we know for a fact it is rich or colorless very lean!
My favored SBF configuration on a 2750# or lighter car is a 9.2 deck with no bigger than 3.75 stroke with the longest stroke! Minimum bore would be at least 4.165-175 or bigger. Breathing and great rpm capability!
I would believe the spark plug first before I look at the collector because you might have a little draw from the seal of the turbocharger creating an oily darker mists.
We need a lot of weight on the nose at this point in time even with small 8.5-10.5 slicks or radials. Easy to change head gaskets or taking the engine out as well but mainly for weight transfer. For example last race, our car lifted to a wheelstand past the 60ft mark and going into 2nd gear. Lost race because of it!
Good info Ben
Thanks Dave!
Great information again. I am learning every time with these videos.
Please do a video on timing of distributors for power.
Thank you Ben.
Thanks George and check my latest video and it touches on these very subject of distributor ignition advance setting. Hope you like it.
Nice Ben 👍…. More Great info
great video ben, does that plexiglass scoop affect the mixture ? i was told it makes you run leaner but i dont think so,whats your thoughts? thank you
If it is sealed real well and it catches all the wind it "might' make you run leaner specially if you already are without the scoop!

Sure thing! I will get a video out that will be eye opening here in the near future!
@Ben Alameda Racing right on! I look forward to your videos 📹. I learn a lot about race applications from your channel

Mr Alameda what is your favorite small block ford engine combo?

@@benalamedaracing2765 What's the red tool for air density you mentioned, sir?
@@findtherightbeat, if you look at screen 13:50 you will see me take a glance at what the corrected altitude is before we make a pass.
How quick is that Mustang under the little tent ?
It is in the very low 5's @ 2800# NA.
9.2 deck.
Does this also apply to a turbocharged car? My plugs show on the lean side but the exhaust is sooty black.

Why do they exit the exhaust out the front of the fenders and not like back in the day when it was under the car
