Another reason for the phone not charging is battery swelling that blocks the charging cable. In such cases, using tools or tweezers poses a risk of stabbing the battery. So I think it's important to double-check that there is no swelling of the battery and there's actually visible debris before trying to clean the contact.
The contact cleaning will not do any harm or be dangerous also if the battery is swollen. And also it won't take much time. But if you see already that the back cover is coming apart, of course you need to be carefully and if you don't have skills, better bring it to a technician.

I was able to use a SIM card pin to clean my port. Thanks. This was a real life saver. I've never had this happen before since I used to always have a phone case that covered the port. But I had to get a different one recently and all of a sudden my charger stopped fitting. I was really worried I would have to get a new phone.

I thought I had cleaned my port before and that it didn't work. I feel like I tried for about a half an hour. Eventually, i got the dirt out and it fixed it. Shit was really in there

@@CrocFIXi got a problem about my phone actually not charging to max anymore with even slow recharging when 10 days ago it still charged from 14% to 100%, now it takes 8 hours to charge and all its a samsung A21s and its 3 years old
@@ghoul-corpse It could be your cable or wall charger or your usb port on your phone. Try first with other cables and wall chargers.

@@CrocFIX Yeah it's clean but I am using a different charger I realized that the wires from the tip had been ripped somehow from the thing

A toothpick is a bad idea, because it's to thick. Look carrefully inside the port. Depends of your phone, it could be also a faulty charging port or a faulty flex cable. This is only one of the common solutions. Good luck

NEVER NEVER NEVER put anything metal into the charging port as you can short out your phone.
If you are carefully, nothing happens, as there is no power delivery at this point, when the cable is not attached. But to be 100%, you can use something made from plastic or wood. But you need again to be carefully, that this tool is not too thick, otherwise you will damage or bend the port.

I had a similar issue but it wasn't really dirty. After scratching it and probably almost ruining the charging port, I noticed it was not going in just on one side. There was a piece of paper in there and it was really camouflaged, being white. Be mindful, in case it happens to you, not to ruin your phone for nothing.

I have the same issue, but there is no dirt inside the port
Look again or maybe your usb port is broken and needs to be replaced
I found what works well are those soft tooth floss sticks. They have little spike or like little stubble hair on them. They r rubber, thin and flexible.

What if my phone charges in the car but not at home in the wall? I use the same cable and the cable works fine in other phones, just my phone won't charge at all at home. What should I do?
Try also some different wall chargers and try this same cable in the computer.

It could be also a damaged chargin port. The phone will need to be opened and checked.

Maybe your charging port will need to be replaced or you have other hardaware issue. Without experience you need to bring it to a service repair shop.

Don't use metal to poke your charger port. Use wood like toothpick or plastic material.
Toothpick is a bad idea, as it's too thick. It must be a small tiny tool. Like a needle
Mine is not dirty but still does not go in all the way and after some seconds of charging the cable goes out of the charger by itself.

Update it was dirt: i tried over and over on my own and couldn't clean it 100%.... Today i brought it to a repair service, they cleaned it with some special cleanser and cleaning technique, now it works and I am happy ! ☺️☺️☺️

I got a new 25 watt Samsung charger with a USB C connector and a new 10ft charging cable with USB C connectors on both ends and it is super fast charging now. I won't leave the phone connected when using it after fully charged so the charging cable won't get the bend stress anymore and it is working fine with my phone set to max charge at 85% now.
