- David & David explain how to fix an iPhone that won't turn on after charging for a long time. iPhones are designed to turn on automatically when they’re connected to a power source and have enough battery life to turn on. When your iPhone dies and you plug it in to charge, it should turn on again in about 10 minutes, depending on the charger you use.
But if your iPhone isn't turning back on, follow these steps to fix it for good.

The first thing to do when your iPhone won't turn on while charging for a long time is a hard reset. This forces your iPhone to abruptly turn off and back on again. It's possible your iPhone's software has crashed on a black screen, making it appear as though your iPhone won't turn on.
If a hard reset doesn't fix the problem, try charging your iPhone with a different cable and charger. You should also clean out the charging port of your iPhone to make sure there isn't any lint or debris stuck inside.
The last step you can take to completely rule out a deep software problem is a DFU restore. This restore erases and reloads every line of code on your iPhone and installs a fresh version of iOS. Before putting your iPhone in DFU mode, make sure to back it up first!

If you can't put your iPhone in DFU mode, and it still isn't turning on, there may be a hardware problem. We recommend reaching out to Apple support online, in-person, or over the phone.

I left my Ipad Pro to charge while I was outside, and after coming back it just WOULD NOT turn on. I searched through the net and youtube and found out the force reset method, but no where was it mentioned for how long I have to keep holding the power button.
After trying everything possible, it still would not turn on, so I assumed that the crack on its screen which I got from dropping my ipad a few months ago, was playing a role in its unresponsiveness. I was frightened and nervous, until hours later I found this video. To my astonishment, it turned on! I am so THANKFUL for this video, keep up the good work!
This just happened to me this morning when I woke up and my phone was on the charger. I googled what to do and thankfully found your video. I wasn't holding down the on/off button long enough and it wasn't on the charger when I tried to reset. I was in a total panic. You guys calmed me down, I put the phone back on the charger, changed the outlet and did what you said and it worked! Thank you!!!
this happened to me at 4:30am the day of my exams. i woke up by accident and if i didn’t, the alarms would’ve never went off and i would’ve missed the exams!! fixed my phone from this video, went back to bed, woke up in time for school. thank you guys!

Woke up an hour before work, decided to check my phone real quick and no matter what my phone wouldn't turn on! Until I came across this video, you guys literally saved me! thank you so much!!
Happened to me at 5:45am ...randomly woke from my dog snoring too loud. Saw my phone would not turn on and I would have missed an early wake up call. Tried 4 different outlets, 2 different chargers, 2 different power sources (wall & laptop), blew on the port like it was an N64 game and then found this video.
Did Step 1 of this video...KEPT HOPE AS ASKED and that is what saved my phone. Please KEEP HOPE when holding the side button. When the guy said he use to see this issue when he worked at an Apple Store, that ensured creditability that he knew what he was talking about and had seen this problem before. I did the 2 volume buttons and the side button as suggested in the video. Kept HOPE for nearly 30 seconds and sure enough the Apple logo appeared and my phone was SAVED! Thank Goodness!!

Woke up to a Black Brick of an iPhone. I was planning my trip to the Apple store and a call to ATT. I had already tried some of the tips in this video before I watched it, but I tried everything over again AND THEN got to the DFU restart and IT WORKED!!! I woke up early in the morning to a black screen. It took at least 4 times of trying the first fix to be successful in getting the phone to turn back on! Don't give up- I even held the power button for 60 seconds to no avail-this was my third time trying. On the fourth time, it turned on after 15 seconds of holding the power button. Appreciate you guys!

My phone decided to do this over night so i missed my alarm and was panicking and furious and it told me to go to a website but when i looked it up it said web page not found, so i looked up my issue and you'r video was the first one to pop up. I followed you'r instructions and bam just like you guys said the logo turned on! Apple users beware it does this for some updates now too. Let me just say it again you guys are a life savor thank you so so so much!
