I'm terminally ill and I'm restricted to being at home alone. My tablet is my connection to the world and a way to distract myself from chronic pain. Thank you once again.
Fantastic! Used the end of the flosser that you have there to clean the port and a whole lot of dirt was removed. Prior to this it would sometimes charge fast, sometimes slow, and sometimes not at all. Thank you!
You saved me bro!! It was 1 day now tjat my tab was not charging. I was going to tell this to my parents and surely they would have make it a huge blunder out! A situation like a hill out of mole was to be made at my home. I was also planning to purchase a new usb cable and here i came across this video and I and my money...both got saved! Thankyou! Well presented video- thanks. There’s one other “ trick “ if possibly the Tablet won’t charge coz you’ve not used it in a while… Press and Hold the power button, while inserting microUSB plug / cord into tab. Then wait 30 seconds Release power button Try this repeatedly. I cannot say why this has worked for me on many devices- my conjecture is that initially the device senses NO Or Defective Battery ( so it doesn’t charge ) However applying power AS IT IS RECEIVING A Startup command - causes Tab to accept power. Once u get a little power in… it then doesn’t assume missing/defective battery. Just my $00.02 ! Greg
None of these work. My tablet says I need to use the charger provided with the tablet, which got damaged. No other chargers/outlets/cables/charging blocks work. Restarting does not work. Even tried another Samsung charger. Nope. It has to be the one provided with the tablet. There has got to be another solution. Next tablet I get won't be a Samsung. Junk.
Worked...bent forward, waited 10 sec it showed a number I put a rubber band around the cable and pulled it to the opposite corner..slow charge but it's not dead.
Thanks for posting...Tried all of the steps, but my Tab A is still not charging. I know the cable and outlet are good because I can charge other devices with them. One step I would urge caution on is blowing into the charging port--another video I watched said to not do that as that can introduce moisture into the charging port.
Yeah its not advisable.. if you must use air current to get it out I'd advise using a cool fan or even a hairdryer very briefly would be better than blowing saliva onto the moisture sensor pin

Gentle tootbrush swipes inside the port worked for my S4 not charging! Some dust or lint must have gotten stuck in there but toothbrush did its job. A port replacement would have involved a complete teardown of the S4 with a heat gun and it is a very tricky and risky operation because if not done carefully the display could easily break in the process and make matters worse. I am so glad I could avoid it. 🎉 Thanks a lot pal 👍

If you haven't already try restarting it. My tablet would very slowly charge to 24% and then stay there until I took it off the charger and then it would slowly start losing battery. When I restarted it after watching this video my tablet started charging at a normal speed and would charge to 100%.
Are you using a charger and a cord that came with the tablet or are you just using any charger? This video shows him using just any charger and cord and that may be okay to test a charge but go to Walmart or Amazon and find yourself a decent cable, Walmart has some for between $8-15 dollars. Your cord matters and so doesn't your end. If you are using one that is cheap you may get a slow charge. Don't use cords from the dollar stores either. Find a wall plug that isn't one of the tiny square ones like shown here. Also, try another outlet in your house and make sure the outlet itself isn't the issue. I doubt that it is, it's most likely your tablet isn't getting enough juice to charge quickly. Another thing you can do is charge it with it powered off. That should help it charge faster too. Try these things and see if it helps and let me know how things turn out. Good luck.

This is why, sometimes, you can jiggle the cord, or pull it in a certain direction and it works if you hold it there. The idea is to fix the bent, expanded connector sides to get a good seal when plugged in...How to try to fix: Using your fingers or thumb, push the two long sides of the end of the plug together. Very slight amount, usually just enough to feel it. Now try to plug it back in. It may fix the issue and your cord is fine. If you've compressed them too much, the cord won't go in. If you didn't get enough correction, try again. Iterate till you feel like This also works on USB-A cords, the big flat end that goes into the power port of chargers.

BE CAREFUL! Apparently the Samsung Tablet can CONTROL the Samsung charger to prevent damage to the Li-ion battery. Regular USB chargers cannot be controlled by the tablet and the battery protection mechanism will disable battery charging. Check out videos with "Samsung tablet won't turn on" - where a battery protection reset is performed by dismantling the tablet. Power button was not working, black screen but power charging symbol was showing. Took the back off with a small gadget repair tiny flat head screwdriver by digging in the groves and gently unsnapping the snaps, cleaned charging port with a brush, unplugged and replaced ribbons that had snaps, charged tablet, snapped back cover back in place , started right up. Did not break or crack the screen, just scratched the back a bit starting the gap to separate the cover from the screen. Can't see the scratch after the protective case is back in place. Saved me $199 For another tablet.
