On first play through when you think you are wrapping up the game, you are actually still scratching the surface. Which is partly what makes this game so masterful
Have you ever felt despair at the meaninglessness of our lives? Have you realized that we are doomed to make the same mistakes over and over as history repeats itself? Then this game is for you. Bonus: incredible music and rear end(press both controller sticks for 3sec).
Played and finished this game to final completion on PS4. First playthrough, is like any other hack and slash game (which is my favourite genre). Second playthrough and onwards was where my mind was blown story wise and philosophically. The procedural music they use, based on the action was absolutely gorgeous. Glad to see the switch crowd experience this masterpiece. Tips for the chip system, try as much as possible to only combine low slot numbered chips together. ie. combining a +2 with a +8 is a massive waste of the +2 one.

It’s crazy that it’s also getting an anime adaption next year.
this is not a 20 hour game.. its 60 hours atleast.
40ish*
@@stringtales SwitchUp said its easily a 100+ hour game if one is doing all side quests, multiple endings and DLC
I hope you get all the endings from A to E.
Was a pretty cool experience when I played it back in 2017 on PC. Definitely won't be picking it up on a Switch lol. I just hated playing as 9S.
That soundtrack in Automata is off the chain!!!
Hey you won✌️🖕🖕👉
Got something special for you🎁🎁🎁??
I tried to think of a game soundtrack that matched it and ended up having to go all the way back to Chrono Cross from 2000. Quite spectacular.
I don't understand people who say this 1:32, I've heard a lot of people saying that they thought the game looked kinda generic but they heard good things about it so they gave it a shot and they were positively surprised. The reason I wanted to play Nier was because it had a really distinct art direction that I haven't seen before, please people, I'd love to know, what are some things that on the surface level look like Nier? I'm genuinely curious
I'm very glad you were able to put aside those uh... petty biases (lol, I can see it though.. the name's a little weird).. and find a game you've enjoyed. It's mysteries are kinda gripping huh? ... Hope you do get to the last ending, it's worth it. This game... I consider one of the greats in gaming so far. (up there with Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, etc..)
I haven’t purchased a new game since Metroid Dread, but so far in the past 2 weeks I have purchased Return to Monkey Island and preordered both Nier Automata and Mario and Rabbids Sparks of Hope. October is a costly month for me.
@@Ihatevideogames334 ok
@@twodumbcats390 That’s a spambot; best to ignore it, or report it and hope Google cares.
I can't believe it was first launched in 2017 I remember playing it like it was yesterday.
I wish they’ve made an exclusive Nier game on Switch that justify the price and value. Been playing my switch 99% on docked while having PS5 as well, I don’t see myself buying again same game.
I played NieR on my PS4 when it first came out also RGT you can find 2B's sword in the factory area where fought the giant mech boss near the water.
@@Ihatevideogames334 neat
I played it on PC and absolutely loved it xD
well... i did preorder the eShop one uhm
Guess it's time to pick up the physical release aswell
I’m a fan RGT, appreciate your videos. Ive always raised an eyebrow at this game, but didn’t know much about it, so thank you for making the vid :)
The game looks interesting. The slow down might suck, but I think I can deal with it. I’ll probably pick it up.
There is no major slow down. Its a near perfect locked 30fps
Get a series s which is cheaper than the switch and play the game in full HD with 60fps gameplay
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 I already own the switch. And buying a new, or used, console just isn’t in my budget. I have a wife and 4 kids. So… I’m probably just gonna play it on the switch. But, thanks for the advice tho.
Go get it now then. it's available right now
@@Avm371998 Man, look at that *cope*
I would of been so excited for this day 1 purchase no doubt... But then my Steam Deck came in.
@@Ihatevideogames334 Bro relax it's not that serious
Definitely I hope they port Replicant too. I have played and beaten this game numerous times. It is really good and the soundtrack is God like
I hope not.
A switch port of replicant would be awesome.
@@powercheif no it won’t.
@@jorge_m-h4g please explain. Why wouldnt a switch port of replicant be awesome?
@@powercheif because it’s another one of the crappy ports.
Never played it before, but bought a switch copy(physical), and am loving it!!!
Seems like a perfect mix of Ninja Gaiden and Zelda, sign me up!
Really looking forward to picking up my preorder! Love that this is getting a physical!
Man, October is so stacked for the Switch.
No Man's Sky, Nier, Persona 5 & Shredders Revenger all physical
You physical hoarder yuk
Yeah, the Switch has nothing
This game is a masterpiece, i don't think i will buy it again, but is a must have if you didn't played it yet.
Looks like a darker version of Kingdom Hearts.
Got it when it first came out on ps4. Spent 3 days completing all 27 endings. It's a beautiful game
I’m very happy it’s coming to switch and that it seems to perform good. I’ve played this over and over on the ps4 and Xbox
Great breakdown! I hope you enjoy the rest of the game.
If I had a complaint it would be i think the map and trying to follow quest markers is very poor.
You only really need to replay the game twice. The third time you boot will be "part 2" and it's a completely different game.
I hope it does well! I have it on steam and loved it. Big fan of the Nier series. Thanks for the review!
@@Ihatevideogames334 member of VANK, right?
Played this on PS4 but it’s genuinely such an incredible game I’m excited to buy it again
Beat the ps4 version of this game (on PS5) and I loved it. It’s really a great game
I got it now and yes the dlc is on the cartridge. Runs great and looks great too.
I have this on PS4 but I’ve never played it. 🤷♂️ it was on mega sale and I just added it to my endless backlog because everyone says how amazing it is. I’m definitely buying it for Switch. Maybe I’ll have an easier time finding time to play it portably. Well…. At least until Persona 5 comes out. Lol
Played the game on PS4. Love the Nier series! I will be picking it up for the Switch.
I love how every time an “impossible” port comes to switch and works good it’s the best looking on switch 😂
Just grabbed a copy off Amazon, it’s getting delivered tomorrow and I’m definitely looking forward to trying it out
To be honest the best person to review this game on switch is the gamer that got it back in 2017 on the ps4 and knows the differences between them
Awesome video RGT 85.
Nier Automata was top notch on the PS4 and having 3 or 4 Platinum Games already on the Switch, this just seemed a natural fit too come onto that Platform.
I am definitely interested in Playing this Game, just too see how it Looks n Runs and from RGT 85 Footage it's looking like it's Running n Looking pretty damn good, 60fps would have been better but I've Played Doom in 30fps on the Switch, which was way after I Played the PS4 Version and had zero problems with that at 30fps, so I can't see any problems with Nier Automata either guys.
Hey you won✌️🖕🖕👉
Got something special for you🎁🎁🎁??
On first play through when you think you are wrapping up the game, you are actually still scratching the surface. Which is partly what makes this game so masterful
I just started playing this game on my Steam Deck. So far, it's been a lot of fun! It's. Nice that Switch gamers can join in on the fun!
Played it on the Xbox and loved it. Definitely grabbing it on switch for collection reasons
