    Jobe pitched a couple days ago in a ST game, no hits and striking out 3 (and that FB is now touching 102)!
    He struck out one batter with a 101-102-101 sequence of consecutive FBs that the batter couldn’t even get his bat off his shoulder for (w/sick movement)!
    He also now throws a ridiculous change-up that they are calling his “Bugs Bunny” change up!
    He’s healthy and he’s a BEAST (and just turned 20 @ 6’2” and 210 m; straight from HS and still physically maturing, but looks like an NFL safety)!
    WE CAN’T WAIT!!!!
    (Lol, yes……Tigers fan here!)

      I've watched that 9th inning probably a dozen times at this point. ELECTRIC stuff

      Jackson Jobe is an untouchable prospect.
      He will be the best pitcher in baseball provided he stays healthy.

    Love your videos! As someone in college looking to get into the baseball analytics world as a career, I was wondering what the first steps you made to get in were.

      Networking is really important. Talk to people smarter than you.
      Making content is also huge, even if it doesn’t make its way to the public, you learn through teaching / trying to teach. 👍

    8:17 I think a video topic about pitch sub-classifications would be very intriguing as well as helpful for a lot of people. George Kirby, Giovanny Gallegos, and Pete Fairbanks throw pitches MLB calls a "Slider" yet are incredibly different from a movement perspective. For Skenes, I think Nick Lodolo may be another FF comparison, albeit he's left-handed.

    Before I even watch the video, I'm predicting it's Skenes. Lets see!

    Great video Lance, do you believe that they will all debut this year? I feel like they all have the skill to, especially on their respective teams. I am also curious as to what tweaks you would make with the three if you happened to work with them. It would also be fun to see a ranking of all thirty teams' top pitching prospects in your eyes and the stand-out attributes of each of them. Would be a longer but fun video!

      Lot of questions here 😂 (jk, love them)
      Yes, I think they all throw MLB innings barring health issues.
      Tweaks are tough. I mentioned the Skenes CH tweak, I think he can get more drop there, just unsure if it would affect command. Horton and Jobe I don’t think I have anything specific. Would love to see Jobe’s 4S from early in the year as opposed to the AFL one.
      That would be a beast of a project 😂 I’ll consider it, but I have some other things higher in the queue right now.

    Awesome video again Lance. Dont know a ton about Jobe - only 6 walks in 64 innings is impressive. Is that a cause for worry, though? As in, he's pounding the strike zone too much?

    • @LanceBroz
      @LanceBroz  Год назад

      Nah, not a worry when you have his level of stuff.
      And most guys with that level of stuff aren’t able to put the ball in the zone.
      I’d actually prefer a guy with like 3 plus pitches just rip it middle and see what happens. Then develop command over time.

    ive seen more players, such as ross stripling picking up a deathball this offseason. I know its appetizing because of its large drop but is that only applicable to throwers with high release angles? also is there public access to the pitch charts data anywhere

    • @LanceBroz
      @LanceBroz  Год назад +5

      In reality, every breaker is a slider or curve.
      Within sliders we have gyro and sweeper.
      And then within gyro we have death balls, which to me, is just a sub classification of gyro that comes from a high release.
      I think I’ll make a video on this.

      Publicly Pitcher List has something I believe
      And the individual I mention in the description to this video has a patreon where you can access a similar plot

    Thanks for the analysis! How would you rate Ricky Tiedemann among these guys?

    • @LanceBroz
      @LanceBroz  Год назад

      Tiedemann has some RP risk to me. Similar to Waldrep and Misiorowski. He’s probably in the 4-7 range after these 3.
      I’ll likely be doing more prospect stuff so I’m bound to talk about him at some point.

    Is cade Horton ever gonna pitch this year. I can't find any current stats or news on what he's doing everything is over a month old

  • @mattmcclellan7781
    @mattmcclellan7781 10 месяцев назад

    Jobe's arsenal has quantity and quality and looks amazing on paper, but would probably also go with Skenes. I don't think you could rate much higher than him on the eye test (well Randy Johnson).

    Horton looks like Kerry Wood when he pitches.

  • @elinelson9188

    I think it must also be mentioned that Skenes and Horton are older than Jobe and have way more miles on their arms

      But great video

    • @kylenorman5250
      @kylenorman5250 Год назад

      Pretty sure Horton actually hasn't thrown that many innings for a college pitcher since he wasn't really a full time starter until his last year but yeah obviously more mileage on the arm than a guy outta high school.

    • @LanceBroz
      @LanceBroz  Год назад +3

      Yeah, I don’t think too much about this. But that’s just a personal valuation. I just don’t think there’s a reliable way to bake it in.
      Am I docking every guy who has thrown 500 competitive IP? I’m never going to know their arm care routines. I have no idea how their biomechanics influence their future health concerns, etc

    • @LanceBroz
      @LanceBroz  Год назад +1

      Yeah, he does. Just tough when we don’t have a ton of recent data from him.
      I’d probably have him 4-5. I think some other sites are more aggressive.

    you are on crack... your numbers and the eye test has Jobe better than both, right now and will be as he has the best swing and miss and command of his pitches.
