"As the PAC launched diversionary strikes from Italy into North Africa, it secretly gathered forces in the Sinai Peninsula to prepare for a full-scale assault on the continent. On May 1st, four PAC Command Divisions flew into Libya to engage the EUs 6th Army Group. This left the 5th Corps at the Suez Canal without support when the Southern Command Group, led by General Muunokhoi, raced into Egypt. The EU forces staved off Min-shiks army until help finally arrived via the 10th Airborne Division. Had the PAC seized the Suez Canal, it would have severely compromised the EUs ability to defend Africa."

"To attack the EUs Suez Canal position, the PAC relied on a Titan squadron to transport assets into the field of battle. Similarly, the EU employed their own Titan fleet to transfer divisions from other posts in northern Africa. While conflict raged on the ground, a secondary battle ensued in the skies as both sides attempted to thwart the airborne delivery of reinforcements."

Camp Gibraltar and Suez Canal were my favorites
GrivoX i remember back when people actually knew that they could move the titan and there would be the two titans in the middle of the map just next to each other
It's an awesome map. Fun to be infantry or to take a vehicle.
DeD MajoR I was a commander once and the PAC handnt moved their titan so I moved ours (the EU titan) directly behind the PACs titan to the point where you could walk from one to the other. Their shield went down and we destroyed their crap so fast it was unbelievable

This map for BF was like de_dust 2 by its popularity.
most played titan map EVER.
I never got to play Titan on it. Most one for me was Sidi Power Plant. I joined a little late to the party.
+Lashmer Sidi was a great Titan map as well, although there were less fights between points and more pod-dropping tactics there.

Two years ago, they remade 1942 as "1943".
This year, they made a remake to Vietnam as an expansion to Bad Company 2.
Later this year, they made a remake of Battlefield 2... Battlefield 3.
Next year, I predict and hope they remake the greatest (IMO) Battlefield game, 2142.

Still love this badass theme! I've also given up on buying battlefield games. I stick to the older ones. :D
Does anyone remember making the walker cursor "walk" across the screen to paas the time loading?
This must have been the center of the conflict, or where the biggest battle took place in the war. Just listening to this theme makes it sound like there was chaos everywhere!
It's such a shame I wasn't born 5 years earlier. I've really missed out because of my age at the time :l

My shitty computer was jsut good enough t orun the game at around 40fps back than ... I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS GAME. TITAN MODE on this map every day for 2 years!

i loved this game years ago, it was just epic future warfare, still love it, but with all the new updates i cant find the right version
Once, in this map, i destroyed an enemy gunship jumping on it from a bridge, ninja style. Good memories!

Gibraltar is good. Multiplayer isn't doing too great for 2142, but it isn't dead yet. I love any server that is No Vehicles! :D NV FTW!

The most over played map. Good map but it isn't the best and I get so fucking annoyed when the only servers with people are the Suez 24/7 and Gibraltar 24/7 servers.
