Black Box is literally the only NFS developer brave enough to have your precious car impounded. I was hoping Heat would instill the same fear and PTSD from the Black Box era.
It wouldn't work in modern nfs games because of online and this generation complaining to EA about the feature which can kill the game

I actually like when cars are impounded in NFS Most Wanted, because if it's not your last car you can even try to get some money to get it back later.

In Heat it would've made a lot of sense with the whole subplot about the task force selling impounded cars, there's even entries for impounding as a game feature if you look through the game files in Frosty. It probably got cut because of the awful car health system, which would've made the early game night cop chases a lot more difficult

nfs undercover on wii and ps2 just use old assetes and stuff....kinda lame but tech limitation was too much for old gen console
