I own the R40 Seeker I bought upon release. I use it exclusively for my running light. After few years I thought a backup battery would be good. That’s when I found out it was both proprietary and no longer available. Though a 26650 will work I believe it doesn’t properly work with the charging ‘system’ within. As in doesn’t stop charging when full charge is reached though I’m not certain on that. No matter as the original battery is still fine. I was so smitten with this light that when they blew them out for 1/2 price I nabbed two more despite the proprietary battery. At my age those will get me to my grave. Love the informative content and clears a lot of questions up. Thank-you kindly.
Technically I like the magnetic charging, but the original olight batteries are crazy expensive. For longer trips I want to have a spare battery with me, but the 21700 cell for my seeker 2 pro costs € 32,95 !!! You can get a nice Sofirn SP33 v2 INCLUDING a 26650 cell AND a charger for € 22,26 @ aliexpress!!

Great video! I think one of the problems of having a light that will not accept a standardized battery and having to use the magnetic charger cable exclusively is: if you are on a trip and lose or damage the magnetic charging cable, the chances of getting a replacement while traveling is slim to none. You are with a dead battery and useless light. The other USB cables are found everywhere including most gas stations. I don’t think the Olight charge cable would be there. The only option I see would to carry an external charger that would work for that cell or carry more proprietary cells. Don’t misunderstand me, I love the charger but dislike not being able to use my other high drain cells in some of their lights like the Warrior Mini.
you are still able to charge the cells in a regular charger (as you have to in many hyped other lights) so the benefit of internal charging is gone, back to what every flashlight can. but sure, a 18650 to 21700 "Olight" adapter would be cool as "worst case scenario item"
I accept that olight go for safety with own cells with protection but I newer like to push me to buy an exact and expensive battery for a flashlight as a spare. I don't have any olight now and like to try them but this battery thing will block that they will be my favourites. One thing you forgot to mention: if you use a regular 18650 in a 18650 Olight the flashlight will work but charging with magnetic charger not.
No... They won't. None of my Olights that require the special battery work with standard 18650s. Which is why I stopped buying Olights. I buy mostly Sofirn now.
Just the fact that this video is necessary is why I don't own any Olights with proprietary batteries or charging cables. Not to mention that there are eleventeen different charging cables that only work with specific lights. I own a dozen or so Olights and they all take "regular" batteries.
Thank you for this information. Olight just replaced one of my flashlights with the Warrior Mini. I see from your video that my old 18650 battery will not work in it as it has the new button at the bottom. I would have wondered why it doesn’t work. No wasting my time there because of your insightful teaching. Godspeed!
Thank you this video is very helpful! I ordered a Seeker 2 Pro when it went on flash sale, didn't realize it used a special proprietary 21700 cell, beyond being protected. Now I understand it has positive and negative on one end for charging, but that I can still use a Klarus 21GT-50 INR 21700 5000mAh in it, just won't charge in the light. And it looks like I can still charge the olight 21700 with an external charger, so no biggie imho. I know there are better lights with nicer high CRI emitters, but I have good personal experience with the durability and value of olights, I also like how they make titanium, copper, stainless special additions. I hope they make more neutral high CRI emitter versions and allow their lights to continue to function with non proprietary batteries. However I kinda understand the liability with charging inside the lights so I can see why they are using their own designs for internal / magnetic charging. I think the magnetic tail cap charging is pretty convenient and worth the trade off personally.
So the klarua 21700. Is that the battery that you buy for the oh light instead of oh lights brand. I'm trying to find cheaper Replacements because he had their 21700 batteries are about 30 bucks but the 18 650s I can get online for 8 bucks
First your welcome for opening comments! Second: all batteries have a negative at the top, these just take away the wrapping that protects it. Third: if you forget a type C or a micro USB cable, you can just buy a new one day of. And if you lose the Olight cable you have to pay a premium to replace it from them, and that's online. You can buy a type C online for 45 cents which means you can buy 6 and have plenty. Also many myths about Olight shorts happen because of the old way they worked resulting in all kinds of shorts and problems. In 2014 they started to get better, with most issues resolved by 2017/18 in my opinion.
thank you! i wanted to know what was the working principal of the "special" battery and flashlight and you even provided with the resistance value of the switch! THANK YOU!
I love my olight’s I have 12 not including the Eos i3 eos and i1r’s. So I have chargers everywhere. I believe they are the best looking lights anywhere and I have become a collector.
i bought a R40 seeker that took an olight proprietary 26650 battery. Olight no longer make this battery so at the end of its life my torch is obsolete. If Olight don't exist in seven or eight years, then what happens.? This is why I wont buy another olight.
I am unaware of any self resetting fuse as you call it on these type of batteries. These type of circuits are usually one and done. Too much amperage and bang( the circuit protecting beng tripped doesnt actually go bang), the battery is done forever. That is why it is so important when using protected batteries to make sure they are up to the demand and or application. You said so what you can lose other cables! Well none of my friends have that type or cable for me to borrow. Nor can I stop by any truck stop or convenience store and pick one up like i can a micro usb or even a usb C cable.
Thanks for the video. I have the M2R Pro and enjoy the light. I am also ok with the magnetic charger, but in the video you mention people may complain if they lose or forget their magnetic charger on a trip, it could happen with regular chargers too. However, with regular chargers, you can run to the gas station or store and pick another up. Forgetting or losing the magnetic charger on a trip, you are stuck. Has there been any other 21700 5000 mah batteries found on the market that work in the Olight M2R Pro or X Warrior Pro? I didn't see any on IMR Batteries.
I forgot my iPhone cord on a trip this summer......I had to stop at over 5 stations to finally find one.. I find the simple thing to do with the magnetic chargers, since they are inexpensive, I Leave One in my car....One in my work vehicle, and One at work....they all fit every light, they may not be the ultimate amperage for the Big lights, but they will still work maybe just slower solution fixed...I do the same with USB-C cables....
With a standard USB cable I have several home and at the office I could borrow a coworker's phone cable. Additionally I could find one in stock at any nearby cell phone or electronics shop. With the proprietary cable I have one cable, unless I have several lights from the brand, and it's *extremely* unlikely my friends or coworkers would happen to have one at hand. If I need a cable I have to order it online and wait for it to be delivered. And I would probably have to pay a premium price for it as well. It is more convenient for me to have one standard cable I can use with my phone and all my lights. And a few standard batteries that work in in all my lights. Proprietary cables and batteries are an inconvenience that I prefer to avoid.
Thank you for another very informative video. Would you be able to tell me if the 3500 mah 18650 from the baton pro will work fine in my H2R nova. The one that comes with that is only 3000 mah and would like an extra 500 for longer run time. 👍👍
I think the biggest Problem people have with the charging cable is that they’re proprietary you can’t just buy one anywhere if you needed it in a pinch
thats correct - but on most Olight products you can remove the cell and charge external (with a bit of caution) but Olight is not the only manufacturer who uses proprietary charging connectors, so your point is valid in general and needs to be considered
Always love your insightful videos and information. Thank you. As a massive Olight fan and collector I have a good amount of the charger cables scattered everywhere at home and in my car (including the new faster charger ones) so don’t have a problem with their proprietary charging method. I know some people do which I can understand. In my honest opinion and limited experience they make the most robust lights all be it more expensive than lots of their competitors. Very useful to know that I can charge their batteries in a regular charger too. Super grateful to you for bringing that to my attention.
After a couple days my magnetic charger quit working completely. Its been about 3 weeks now and i just got home from work, i rode home on my electric skateboard and i have an o light mini warrior 2 in my pocket. I get home and i go to plug my skate board in and at the plug in where the plug and the board meet a big ass spark flashed and it fried the end of the plug. I unplugged it and walked into tge next room baffled. I than pull out my flash light and go to charge it and it will not charge whatsoever. I put the voltage meter on the batter(same side) cannot get a reading at all. What the hell happened.
This video was needed. Olight recently did a video on their charging cables. Recommend people watch that also. And Patreon is a easy way to support creators you want to see content from. Set it and forget it.
Olight makes some great cells & some really nice looking flashlights. I dont own one yet but I really want an M2r pro camo. Unfortunately they are a little pricey.
I got two new 18650 3400mah on my S2R baton II, but when I was charging it using my magnetic charger the LED turns yellow, not sure if that is good or not. Would you have some knowledge about this? My 3200mah 18650 charges just fine, I'm using a qualcomm fast charger for my plug.
as on all Li-Ion powered devices (except special Low Temp chemistries) they recommended lowest temp to use is -5°C ( storage not below -20°C ) it might be necessary to remove and prewarm the cell (in the hand for 1 min or in the pocket) before switching on. For long term storage ust either primary Lithium cells or use special chemistries for cold temperatures (but those have reduced perfomance)
As of October 25 2021, Olight is out of every single battery they offer. So it would be great to know what cells would work for the Odin 2000 and 1250 since that's what I own so far. The Halloween sale is in a few days. Was wanting a mini Valkyrie 2 but may just buy a surefire instead. At least I know I can buy batteries anywhere for them. If you do a video with links the the batteries for each device that are equal in power and quality, that may help a lot of people. Could be that all the new batteries are stuck off the coast on a container ship. Who knows when they'll finally show up.
Hi, do you think the Olight 18650 with both poles at the top would work with the Nitecore TM03 which uses a similar dedicated Nitecore battery? These Nitecore batteries are becoming hard to find now. Thanks.
I have nitecore 18650 batteries would you trust those in other branded products that use those size of batteries or do you prefer to stay with the same brand of rechargeable batteries or CR123A?
nitecore also only rewraps industrial cells - they do not manufacture the raw cells (same as all other flashlight brands!) but i am certain all big brands use new cells from reliable sources. i am a fan of LiIon cell technology - and i use raw cells often other brands than nitecore can have better options - but when the offer is too good a fake could be possible - be sure to fact check the product you want to buy!
Unfortunately for the customer of Olights, they have wizened up.. with each "new & updated" model.. they will *Only* run on the proprietary batteries (as you showcased with the Warrior X Pro & M2R Pro). Olight really doesn't want anyone using any other batteries in their lights. So technically this video should be addressed for "Older Model Olights"..
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X The Seeker 3 / Seeker 3 Pro are "older models". So, as I stated, Olight has grown wise and "Newer Models" are not "positive backwards" anymore. All models moving forward are designed this way. Even the new Baton 3 & Warrior 3. They just released the Javelot Pro 2 / Warrior X 3.. you guessed it. They are also proprietary Olight battery only. The next iteration of the Seeker will be this way to. It's pure greed on Olight. The Baton 3 doesn't even have a tail switch, yet they don't want you using any other batteries, so it's like the rest. Do don't think the Seeker series is safe. Olight has declined because of this. Are we forced to use only Shell, Phillips 66 or Sinclair gas ONLY depending what car we buy ? Forced to use 1 gas type even if the other 2 are sold out ? No. It's pure corporate greed. This video fails to point out that important piece of information. He makes it seems like newbies are complaining because you can't use other batteries in Olights. And as a general rule. It's true. You can't, unless you have previous generations. And I have never seen any other manufacturers make a battery like Olights, so that theory of other duel ended pos/neg batteries is off the table.
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X Short answer. *I am 100% Correct* . This video is partly misinformation, the people he is/was criticizing are actually mostly Correct. Now we know Olight releases updated models every 2-3 months. So what I can't tell you, is when the threshold of "older Olights" and "newer Olights" began, for this whole battery shenanigans. Obviously it was sometime after the Seeker 3 and prior to the Baton 3 / Warrior 3. I know for a fact the Seeker series is considered "order" because I was gifted one on the October flash sale. They are trying to get rid of the Seeker 3/3 Pro because they have a new Seeker 4 right around the corner. Probably after Christmas, I assume.. for the new year. They are CONSTANTLY releasing "updated" models. Unfortunately for us, these "updated" models have ZERO battery compatibility.
Not going to lie. It would of been nice of olight to put a type c charging port on the 21700 cells so u could still charge it if u forgot ur magnetic charging cable. I am curious tho, if i was to run a negative strip to the positive side of another brand battery for the olight torch whether it will still work and charge as if it had a olight battery in it 🤔 i have been thinking about it more and more lately. I just need to know what the amp output is on the olight 21700 battery
The thing about the cable is that you can get standard USB cables everywhere for not a lot of money. Plus people are less likely to forget their phone charger than their flashlight charger. Oh and it's also one more thing to remember, pack and carry with you. That being said I love the magnetic charging. Would be nice if they could have added a usb port as well though
Omg! Olight needs it’s own explanation video. Wow. There are way better lights out there than olight. But there customer service is superb. As far as that cable issue. I can pick up a micro usb cable at any gas station across the entire United States. Olight proprietary charger, no.......
Have you tried to salvage the end caps from a dead Olight battery and refit them on to a standard battery? It appears that the customization is simply a contact plate that goes on to the negative end of the battery with wires that run to a disk that mounts over the positive end of the battery. I do not believe they are tack welded into place. This would mean that if your battery dies, you could cut the plastic shrink wrap case off, take the ends and wire connecting them, and simply put them on to your new standard battery. You would not even have to re-wrap the battery because if you are charging it in the tube, then the tube itself will apply the tension and the lateral retention for these end pieces. Just curious if you have tried this. I just ordered a new M2R Warrior Pro and was thinking that if the battery were to die, it would be better to use a standard battery which costs about $10, than the Olight battery that costs twice as much.
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X I fear I may not have been clear. I have not tried it either but was just wondering if it would work. If you every have a bad battery and get a chance to try it, I am sure that there would be a lot of people interested in seeing if it works. Thank you for your video!
Anybody find a cheaper replacement for Ollights 21700 batteries I've been buying the 18650 ones of of the 18650 store that work great and only run 8 bucks a piece. But their 21700 batteries are made where you can only use ohlights batteries. Seems they did this on purpose to monopolize their own batteries
has it charged before? if not - did you remove the yellow playtic (yes - thats common) if yes - take out the battery, make sure all surfaces are clean (cell and flashlight) build it together and try again make sure to use a good USB Plug with 2A or more
I really think olight have completely messed up with this magnetic charging idea, all we needed was proper USB c on the touch itself... now I will never buy another olight torch....
thats not "good" for any Lithium Ion Cell in my opinion but you will find many believing in the oposite ;) if i use a light less than once every 4 months i remove the cellls
not a fan at all of the latest olights, the company looks more and more like apple, a closed environment. I like freedom, i like to use the F batteries I want. Plus I'm a fan of mechanical switches and their new way of making flashlights without mechanical switches doesn't excite me. I've bought an m2r warrior recently and It was a delusion, the tailcap button was impossible to get used to, the light once turned on in my pocket and almost burned me because it went on turbo and didn't step down. Once I put it on charge and went to bed, I woke up with the led charger blinking red and green, once I detatched it from the flashlight in came on and won't turn off, I had to put the battery out. I immediately sent it back. That's sad beacuse I love the way olight used to be, the m1x striker is one of my favourite flashlights with the m23 javelot, the best 18650 thrower I own! I also have a r50 seeker pro LE and I hate the way olight force you to use their battery only to get the best performance out of their lights, the turbo mode doesn't work if you use any other 26650 cell! Olights are good only if you can get them on sale, otherwise they are overrated and overpriced, just like an iPhone!
I am a very big fan off the warrior Olight and want to have more flashlights and keep one 1 every car and house.- I have hundreds off 18650. The New proprietary 21700 Olight battery is a deal breaker. Cant a adapter be designed so we can use Our 18650 with the warrior pro or maybe warrior 3 just released. Please help I am left only to source secondhand M2r flashlights and ship to SOUTH AFRICA NOW :(
I Carry the olight UC Charger for emergency situations and to charge Smaller AA, AAA and Nimh cr123. I Guess it is too dangerous to use it on the Special batteries from olight ?
Martin M4D M4X Rathmanner just to increase the distance between the Charger and the negative Part of the special Type Battery ? Ps: Danke für das nette Kleine Video !
no - to make contact to the plus (which is recessed at the 21700 cells) the 18650 will work with no problem (as long as you do not short circuit) PS Danke für die netten Worte!
Hello there, great video, a couple questions about my own lights I have a seeker 2 pro which I love, my only concern is longevity. If olight decide to stop making the custom batteries I don't want my light to become useless. I think based on the video this particular light will accept other manufacturers 21700 cells as the negative contact is at the tail end. Can someone confirm? Also the other light I have is the s2r baton 2. Will this accept non o light batteries... Thanks in advance
when you sacrifice the internal charging many button top 21700 work other cells with both contacts is similar dimension will work too including charging
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X thanks for confirming. Are their any other companies out there making batteries with both positive and negative at the same end? Are they easy to find I love olight design and performance but worry about things being too brand specific and whether you can get what you need in the future
I also have the Seeker 2 Pro. It does work with regular 21700 batteries, but there is a size restriction. The regular Olight 5000mAh battery is 21.4mm diameter and 75.6mm length. Batteries with 21.6mm diameter do not fit. I'm not sure about 21.5mm, I haven't tried. 21.3mm does work. I'm also not sure about length restrictions. The battery can be slightly shorter than 75.6mm and still work, but I don't think it can be much longer. The battery also probably needs to have at least 8A discharge power to get the full turbo mode, or at least that's what the Olight 5000mAh has. I've tested mine with an Acebeam 4000mAh (21.3mm / 74.88mm / 10A discharge) and it fits and works just fine. Just don't try to use the magnetic charger if you have a regular 21700 inside the light. I'm not sure if it would actually explode or anything like that, but I'm also not willing to find out. 😶
Can anyone confirm if theNCR18650GA Flat Top 18650 lithium cell; 10A, 3500 mAh work with the Olight Perun? I bought 8 of them for the Zebra light but I may be switching over to the Olight Perun as my main headlamp. I like to have lots of battery backup, and want to make sure these will work before buying the light. Thanks
That's it I swear I'm sticking with common size battery lights from now on like AA and AAA's and possibly CR123's. Screw this shit. I bought that Zebra head lamp along with 7 panosonic 18650's for it because that's what Zebra reccomend. Now I'm without the Zebra but now stuck with $45 worth of batteries.
Don't bother buying a Olight for any real world use.I have the original pro 50 and use it at work.Great illumination and a tough housing BUT the battery is so fragile if dropped its done for.The factory charger base killed two batteries. The next was killed by a two foot drop.I am very gentle with this light but its on the last 26650 I will buy.Buy something dependable not overtly exotic. Great idea's but very poor execution of engineering.
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X Thank You for answer. I have FENIX 21700(ARB-L21-5000U), I put it in the flashlight but it doesn't light? I put it in accordance with the markings on the flashlight "+" on the back "-" from the side of the diodes. Fenix has usb-c charging. In outdoor it is very nice :) But not work ;(
if you don't see the difference between losing a proprietary charging cable and a standard usb cable (we all have plenty of them), then the problem is yours. I stopped right there. obtusity is a flaw, not something to be proud of
1) As a person that has worn out numerous USB connectors on devices over the years, I appreciate Olight's magnetic charging. 2) The proprietary Olight batteries are a non-issue for me. I have more than one light. 3) Most of the haters on the web are keyboard commandos that never use lights outside of their mother's basement.
Everyone has USB Type-C cables now. If you forget yours at home, you can borrow someone's phone charging cable to charge your flashlight. Not everyone will have an Olight magnetic charging cable. Use your 🧠, old man.

This was the main reason i didn't choose Olight, even though their feature set is closer to what I want.
I've been charging the Olight proprietary cells in external (Nitecore UMS-2) charger without issue.
I hope olight company will make charger single or doubles just for batery 21700 5000mah only.I think all user like its.
Thank you for another very informative video.
Would you be able to tell me if the 3500 mah 18650 from the baton pro will work fine in my H2R nova. The one that comes with that is only 3000 mah and would like an extra 500 for longer run time. 👍👍
I am not 100% sure if the blue does deliver the current needed for the H2r Nova
just checked - the ORB-186C35 is a high discharge reted for 10A
it should be fine! (the Perun works with it ;) )

Thanks for the help. I might just buy only the batons. I see ppl buying soo many of them but the batteries could be hard to find
I think the biggest Problem people have with the charging cable is that they’re proprietary you can’t just buy one anywhere if you needed it in a pinch
thats correct - but on most Olight products you can remove the cell and charge external (with a bit of caution)
but Olight is not the only manufacturer who uses proprietary charging connectors, so your point is valid in general and needs to be considered
Fantastic!
Which one do you recommend to use in M20 Warrior Special Operations? 18650 (3000 mAh) or (3500 mAh)?
Thanks.
both cells are capable to drive the m20 properly
go for the 3500 for more runtime
Always love your insightful videos and information. Thank you. As a massive Olight fan and collector I have a good amount of the charger cables scattered everywhere at home and in my car (including the new faster charger ones) so don’t have a problem with their proprietary charging method. I know some people do which I can understand. In my honest opinion and limited experience they make the most robust lights all be it more expensive than lots of their competitors. Very useful to know that I can charge their batteries in a regular charger too. Super grateful to you for bringing that to my attention.
Thank you for all this info, I learned so much. Please more videos
What the hell happened.
always good info here. thanks for the time and research ....
This video was needed. Olight recently did a video on their charging cables. Recommend people watch that also. And Patreon is a easy way to support creators you want to see content from. Set it and forget it.
When using a magnet, does the charger report the battery internal resistance correctly? Any downsides that you have noticed?
the value is not correct for the cell, but charging works fine
Good informations here, as always - thanks for yours awesome work !!!

Is the magnet size 2 x 1 mm? Thank you.

Olight makes some great cells & some really nice looking flashlights. I dont own one yet but I really want an M2r pro camo. Unfortunately they are a little pricey.
im using onley Olight 8x HDC, 3500mah in my light and som olight 18650 3600mah in oter light
Thank you for the information. I definitely learned something new. 🔦
How would Olight batteries hold up if the flashlight was left in the car during winter @ -25C ?
as on all Li-Ion powered devices (except special Low Temp chemistries) they recommended lowest temp to use is -5°C ( storage not below -20°C )
it might be necessary to remove and prewarm the cell (in the hand for 1 min or in the pocket) before switching on.
For long term storage ust either primary Lithium cells or use special chemistries for cold temperatures (but those have reduced perfomance)
Thank you, that's good to know...
Hey
For those Odins you need the "special" cells with both polarities at the front
not sure if other manufacturers make compatible ones
Where can I find the "new" 21700 batteries. All of the ones that I have, have that black ring around the +
those are the new
21700 in 4000 and 5000 mAh
What size magnets did you use in order to charge to batteries in the external charger? Thanks for the info
3x2mm
Hi, do you think the Olight 18650 with both poles at the top would work with the Nitecore TM03 which uses a similar dedicated Nitecore battery? These Nitecore batteries are becoming hard to find now. Thanks.
they might work
but not sure if the amp rating is okay
Awesome vid! Thanks!
Those magnetic chargers are ~15€ in aliexpress.
Proprietary batteries and chargers for flashlights are utter bullshit.
I have nitecore 18650 batteries would you trust those in other branded products that use those size of batteries or do you prefer to stay with the same brand of rechargeable batteries or CR123A?
nitecore also only rewraps industrial cells - they do not manufacture the raw cells (same as all other flashlight brands!)
but i am certain all big brands use new cells from reliable sources.
i am a fan of LiIon cell technology - and i use raw cells often
other brands than nitecore can have better options - but when the offer is too good a fake could be possible
- be sure to fact check the product you want to buy!
Unfortunately for the customer of Olights, they have wizened up.. with each "new & updated" model.. they will *Only* run on the proprietary batteries (as you showcased with the Warrior X Pro & M2R Pro). Olight really doesn't want anyone using any other batteries in their lights. So technically this video should be addressed for "Older Model Olights"..
thats not 100% correct
the Seeker 3 series (plus backwards) can be run with standard cells (if size fits)
I just need to know what the amp output is on the olight 21700 battery
in therory that should be possible
The thing about the cable is that you can get standard USB cables everywhere for not a lot of money. Plus people are less likely to forget their phone charger than their flashlight charger. Oh and it's also one more thing to remember, pack and carry with you. That being said I love the magnetic charging. Would be nice if they could have added a usb port as well though
Thank you a great channel subscribed. A clear explanation well done.
Great Job. You answered all of my Olight battery questions in a very easy to understand format. Thanks a lot. keep up the great videos.
Omg! Olight needs it’s own explanation video. Wow. There are way better lights out there than olight. But there customer service is superb. As far as that cable issue. I can pick up a micro usb cable at any gas station across the entire United States. Olight proprietary charger, no.......
I wish they’d just go to USB C on all lights with a form factor that can accommodate it.
Super Video.Wieso gibts keine 26650 Akkus mehr von Olight für die Seeker 1?
hast du den support gefragt?
That's useful information. Many thanks for posting!
I just ordered a new M2R Warrior Pro and was thinking that if the battery were to die, it would be better to use a standard battery which costs about $10, than the Olight battery that costs twice as much.
did not try that
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X I fear I may not have been clear.
Hi i have a question my olight m2r pro doesn’t charge what do i do
has it charged before?
if not - did you remove the yellow playtic (yes - thats common)
if yes - take out the battery, make sure all surfaces are clean (cell and flashlight) build it together and try again
make sure to use a good USB Plug with 2A or more
I really think olight have completely messed up with this magnetic charging idea, all we needed was proper USB c on the touch itself... now I will never buy another olight torch....
both ideas have downsides - a port always need additional protection against dirt and water
great video+ very informative: too many "be careful " in first 7 minutes. 7:00 onwards=very useful but limit OLIGHT buying.
"Short circuit" ;-) Gutes tech video, vielen Dank!
Very useful, thank you.
Is it bad to leave the olight batteries in the olight flashlights for a long period of time without using them often?
thats not "good" for any Lithium Ion Cell in my opinion
but you will find many believing in the oposite ;)
if i use a light less than once every 4 months i remove the cellls
How can use other battery to olight m2r pro warrior
needs to be a dual pole cell (there are othes manufacturers i think)
standard pole (+/-) does not work
not a fan at all of the latest olights, the company looks more and more like apple, a closed environment.

Hello there, great video, a couple questions about my own lights
I have a seeker 2 pro which I love, my only concern is longevity.
Thanks in advance
when you sacrifice the internal charging many button top 21700 work
other cells with both contacts is similar dimension will work too including charging
@@MartinRathmanner_M4D_M4X thanks for confirming.
Are their any other companies out there making batteries with both positive and negative at the same end? Are they easy to find
I love olight design and performance but worry about things being too brand specific and whether you can get what you need in the future
@@lauriedove1959 i have not tested other brands which are lookalike - sorry

Short cut? You mean short it out 👍🏻
thnaks - i will remember that ;)
Can anyone confirm if theNCR18650GA Flat Top 18650 lithium cell; 10A, 3500 mAh work with the Olight Perun?

Sorry I forgot to list these are Panosonic 18650's
no flat tops will work in the perun
