When it’s green it’s at the close to being completely charged...be to let it charge it a bit long to 100% pas the green part. Thanks for sharing your videos
Will this charge actual Olight batteries? Specifically their 21700 which are proprietary with that stupid plastic collar they put around the button top.
Mine was OK worked good. But only worked for like 2 months but it was not charging for the whole 2 months it would only charge when I had a low or dead battery so I say maybe a total of 2 weeks of actual charge time and then it just crapped out on me. same plug same battery's being charged. And those batteries are still good and still charge good on other standard chargers. kind of sucks I thought this would last awhile as a reliable charger that I could trust to work when I needed it. so guess I will have to look for something else. Problem is i recommended to a friend thinking it would last longer. Now I hope he does not get 1 since it will probably crap out on him also. And he is also a outdoors type guy that wants his to work when he needs it.
Seems like a great idea. Can only charge one battery at a time. Get a multi port USB hub you can hook up several of them at the same time. On a solar panel it would divide the output among the various batteries but you could charge more than one at a time. Just ordered two of them.
When I get them I am going to try something with one of them. IF it works I will let you know. If it blows it up I will let you know. That is why I ordered two.
Got an update for you. I received the chargers in the mail today and I put my theory to the test. FIRST DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I was able to charge two AA batteries at the same time. UNPLUG THE CHARGER FROM THE WALL or USB port. I took a small rare earth magnet. They are available at Home Depot in the Specialty fastener section. I found the polarity of the magnets on the charger and placed the small magnet between them. So that they all stick together. Then separate one of the magnet chargers and insert a battery. Then leave the small battery on the other end of the battery and put a second battery facing the same direction as the first battery than put the second charge magnet on the other end. Plug the charger in keeping the batteries together. Took about 2 hours more or less to charge 2 batteries. The wires were too short for me to try to do three batteries but I believe it would work. diagram in txt. Charger [ --- Battery + ] Rare Earth Magnet [---Battery +] Charger Hope this makes sense.
Ok, I’m a huge fan of Olight flashlights.... I bought 2 of these chargers, one for each flashlight. One of them uses the 18650 and the other 16340.... but the 16340 has a plastic ring around the Positive nipple on the the Olight batteries.... which does NOT allow the UC charger to make contact and charge the 16340 battery, by Olight. I didn’t see you try one for this type of battery, and thought I’d share.
I know this is a bit older, but you mentioned the solar charger. A comment mentioned using a battery bank. Here is what I do. I have an Anker foldable solar panel, a few usb volt/amp/watt meters with built in usb splitters, a nitecore usb multi port battery charger(from D cells to AAA's 18650s and such), and an anker 15600 mAh battery pack. The thing is plugging straight into the panels it will never charge with clouds and such. I keep the meter on it so I have an idea of output power. I directly charge the battery pack. I in turn use that to charge phones or whatever but also use it for the battery charger. It's great cause the solar panels are like a great dash mat in my Malibu. Lol
Just bought one. Plugged in and must of had magnets on wrong way. I was getting a frashing red with no heat to show it was charging. I switched magnet ends on battery and red stayed lit solid instead on flashing. I don't know if they changed them????
Which kind of battery were you charging? If it was for an S1R Batton 2, and uses the IMR 16340 battery.... it will not charge it. There’s a plastic ring that prevents charging.
Thanks, mine was blinking red overnight and I wasn't sure what was going on? The instructions were a little vague. I moved the connections but it just kept blinking red, my guess was maybe a faulty battery or faulty charger? Anyway to confirm the issue was my battery and not the charger I attached another battery (same brand name and NiMH and same size AAA). The new battery started blinking red then within 10 seconds is now charging with a solid red light confirming that the charger is working fine and that my first battery must have been faulty. This is awesome, because now I know that this battery charger will also help me find batteries that have an internal fault. As a prepper that makes this charger a huge asset to my prepps because I DO NOT want to be carrying the extra weight of batteries that are faulty and will adversely effect the electronic equipment I am using. So to help others, the red blinking light means the charger is testing the battery to see if it has a good connection and if the battery can be charged properly. If the connection is good and the battery is good, then the chargers light will stop blinking red and change to a solid red light, the solid red light means the battery is charging properly. When the battery is fully charged the light will change from a solid red to a solid green. If the red light keeps blinking, then try and adjust the connections at each end of the battery to get a better connection, if this doesn't work and the charger consistently stays on the red blinking light, then you may have a faulty battery. Try a few other batteries out to ensure the battery charger is not faulty.
I've had this charger for abt a year, it charges better than my Nitecore w all the bells n whistles. It's so compact (I carry mine in a pill bottle so its kept waterproof). The only negative is the magnates tend to slip off if you don't keep the battery & charger very still. It is a must have in your bobs if you use gear w rechargeable batteries. Totally worth having a few. Great vid 👍
I'm going to get a few of these and keep one on me and the others with my other 18650 cells. I currently use a dismantled single cell 2,000 mAH power bank to charge my 18650 cells, it works fine but I don't trust it.
I bought mine directly from the olight store but that's where I buy all of my flashlights. Oh, and if you don't have an olight you have no idea what you're missing out on. olightstore.com.
Very cool. I'm going to get a couple of these. I hope you do another video using a solar panel and see how it works. How long did it take to charge up a dead 18650 on average? Keep up the great work.
Hey man great video. I wish we could use these as a power bank like the Nightcore magnetic battery charger. Let me know if you guys ever figure out how to.
I love the Idea! Just be aware! Olight provides ABSOLUTELY NO instructions. Go to the Olight Web Site: Absolutely NO Information! I finally found some Engrish site, that FINALLY explained what Blinking Red might mean. Battery is bad! As if it's not connected! Oh FINALLY! Well, it is like 12 years old, That's to be expected! Even the charger it came with said it was charged! So Yeah! It's actually VERY handy! Just too bad Olight is such a Shoddy company! The Unit is VERY well made!
Excellent video! This is the way to review a product properly. Well done. Thanks!

Very useful review, thanks!

Can it charge an RCR123a battery?
Yes!
@@jiujitsu2000 Thanks!
Can its charging Olight battery 21700 3.6v 5000mah...
What is the name of this usb charger with lcd? brand and model?
It's a great unit, to bad it won't charge Olight's other cells.
can we use it to charge Olight own batteries?

Slick. I'll add that to my "wants"!
Thanks
It would be helpful to know how long it takes to recharge the batteries when completely discharged.
Thanks for the video.
Took about 2 hours to recharge a AAA Nicad.
Thanks!

That is very cool, and very handy too, no need to carry some bulky universal charger.

ive got 3 16340s and none of them charge on my uc olight charger or my nitecore or my 4 cell. is anyone else having this issue
Only drawback is if uv got several to charge at once
very cool piece of kit
Good info 2K glad you mentioned 18650 I need to charge my thrunite
That charger would be very handy to have. I am guessing since they magnetic it would be virtually impossible to connect up backwards?
DifferingLikes I've done that a couple times and no issues
Great video nice charger THANKS.
That’s pretty cool. What is the name of that charger you plugged it into (with the lcd screen)? Thanks!
Will this work if you use a powerbank as power source?
Great product!! Thanks for your reviews brother!!Olight makes my very favorite flashlights ----- They're a great company!!!
Thanks for the share looks like a great product! Keep up your content.
