I just bought the Anker GaNPrime 733 on sale a few days ago based on your suggestion previously for exactly the reason highlighted in this video - having a battery and charge brick integrated into a single item to carry is going to be perfect for keeping a tidy travel bag. I like that it does full 65W when plugged in which matches the wattage of the brick I was already carrying anyway for my iPad Pro and MacBook Air. My prior power banks charged gear from battery at 18 and 24 watts which is waaaaay toooo slowww for bigger devices; 30W on battery with the Anker GaNPrime just squeaks across the threshold into acceptable for me.
January, 2018 I purchased an ANKER A1271, 20,100 mAh Portable Charger for $40. • It works as well as the day I got it. It doesn't seem to have lost its capacity over the years as my numerous other chargers have. Depending on my phones, it can charge them from 5-7 times. • Every Anker item I have purchased always seems to work well...Even batteries for my Mac products. So far, this is the only Chinese designed and made product I can trust....and most likely noe self-ignite😆 Great Review🏆
I left my 20K Anker power bank outside in the rain for the night. I dropped it on my campsite. I found it the next day and figured it was toast. At first, it wasn't working, but I shook the water out of the ports, and it works just fine now. Not that I would recommend this; I'm sure I got lucky, but I was and remain impressed.
Out of all the powerbank reviews i watched when searching for one, this is probably the best and most objective one. Others are just ads, untested reviews, or just plain ai narration with specs slapped on it
Thanks for the review...appreciate the capacity test numbers to verify you get what's being advertised. I'm seeing a lot of Anker Prime knockoffs on Amazon with $60-80 pricing and thinking they can't have the actual mAH capacity they are touting. Lastly, could you start adding a mention if each power bank supports pass-through charging as well. This is one reason I chose the Anker Prime, that I can run a USB-C device (like the new Starlink Mini) WHILE also charging/maintaining the Anker Prime power bank with my foldable 45w solar panel.
You're a lifesaver. I needed independent data to go off of because rated capacities are known to be way off sometimes only 30% of advertised capacity. It's a shame companies don't pay you to do this because the information is invaluable. Would be amazing to have a database others could contribute as well to save on your pockets.
I got the 25k mAH Mophie Powerstation Pro XL for a single reason: It is the only battery bank out there I have found with 3 type C ports. Have it for a year and it has worked great with my devices, even with my 16” MacBook Pro
Oh my gosh this is the video I was searching for. I've been trying to find honest reviews and not paid ones *cough* nitecore *cough* as I am going on a trip soon and need to replace my power bank. Bonus points for being Canadian and having Canadian Amazon links! 🇨🇦
Great video! However I would've liked to see all of the other power banks that didn't make it into your top 5 and also hear why, so at least we know which models/brands we know to avoid as well.
I would still put Anker Prime at number 1 spot for its faster output on all ports, charges faster and lower temperature. Excellent review sir. Liked and subscribed
There is a power bank that is never mentioned, but the Jackery explorer 100+ is 100 watts (real watts, no x 1000's of mA [1 amp!]) and should be in this category. It has 100 watts of LFP power so it won't get hot, has no thermal runaway issues, and won't catch fire. Two USB type c (both bi-directional) and a type A with the the USB c's both rated to 100 watts each. And with 3000 usable charge / recharge cycles to 80%, this one will still be going strong after you have gone thru 4 or 5 of the "traditional" power banks. The jungle company has these on sale pretty often for $99. And yes, these can legally go on an aircraft and probably get you thru the longest international flights. I also have your number 2 choice as i also like Anker products in general. Great review!
Got the GaNPrime before a trip, after watching your video! So thankful!!! It was always charged and I didn't have to have separate chargers! Great suggestion!
I know the Anker charger and power bank, but expensive than others, but I like the plugs. I like the Baseus 65W GaN Charger Quick Charge 4.0 Type C PD USB Charger Portable Travel Charger Fast Charging For Laptop iPhone 15 14 13 and it is cheaper and very high quality this company produced. all my cables are from Baseus. The Baseus 65W is a travel charger and provides 3 different plugs with it. just pull it the plus and insert British European or Australian. the price was reduced to 40 Canadian dollars.
Honestly excellent interview. I learned a lot of things and I make up my mind on which new Anker power bank. I’m looking for. Thank you so much for all the info very well preferred video not boring straight to the point and funny. I love that dog.
Anker 733 and ugreen 140w. Anker have fusion mode (plug to the wall + powerbank), and ugreen 140w have bigger wattage and capacity. Both have 15w mode, perfect for ipad pro user for charging speed, low heat vs balance performance = more battery longivety.
Did you take any time to actually read the instructions? You mention at about the 7.35 minute mark that the button on the side next to the display doesn't do anything. Section 3 of the instructions says that if you hold it for 3 seconds, it switches to trickle charging.
Such great information. Could explain how you get the temperature numbers for these items? I mean, 61ºF is the hottest you recorded. Is that above ambient? Again, terrific review as always.
Biggest issue i find with Battery bank is the stated capacity majority say 25000 or 20000 mAH thats only if you use 3.7 while when we charge our devices at 5V that capacity becomes low, e.g most 20000 / 25000 battery banks actually will provide you around 12000/15000mAH at V so just keep that in mind
The Ugreen you reviewed has worked great for me. I actually got it by accident because I needed it quickly and the one by Anker couldn't arrive in time. I am fully satisfied with it, though. I couldn't believe how easy it was to charge a MacBook Pro needing a 65W input with it. Do you think power demand for laptops and phones will increase in the coming releases and years, or do you think today's power banks will continue to perform well for the next 3-5 years?
really infromative and quantitative review on these powerbanks! I don't actually own one but I will be having a long trip soon so I thought it was time. Just wondering, are those temperatures really in F? those were running cooler than the average room temp here in the Philippines XD (almost 90 F)
Thank you for the fantastic review! I was looking at the ugreen charger, and of course a bunch of adds for other powerbanks from their companu started to pop up... Any thought on the UGREEN Nexode Power Bank 25000mAh 200W?
We’re looking for the best travel power bank for long airline flights? Like 10hours+ will be watching alot of movies from our phones. Would like to charge up both of our iPhone 15s from the same bank. The smaller and lighter the better. Any top tier recommendations? Much appreciated 🙏 & keep up the great videos!
Constructive criticism, you should have shown your testing methodology and the tools used to do it. From a new viewer perspective this video is mostly just information supplied by the companies. On one you mention that you actually saw the 20kmAh capacity, but no mention for the others.
problem with #3, is the built in cable over time will wear out and is not replaceable and hence you'll have to throw it out when it gets frayed or cut. The very same problem that plagues most of the Macbook magsafe chargers before they went with USB-C
Excellent review @MobileReviewsEh!, I saw this one, Yoocas Portable Power Bank, 2 in1 Hybrid Charger-10000mAh, and looks like the first Anker with a nicer screen, but wonder how well will do with your tests?, is cheaper and seems to offer exactly the same as the Anker.
Anker is mainly show. I bought Anker products for years before they went mainstream. The Customer Service was top-notch..and they needed it due to QC issues. I see no improvement in QC as far as functioning units. They raised cost made them look prettier, but they are the same beasts underneath. Mophie was/is (?) is like that.
Remember, fast charging = shorter lifespan. Every reference I read states that to maximize the life of your battery, keep the power level between 20% and 90%. Try not to go under and do not charge to 100% if you want max battery output life. And...99% of all power bank makers state the capacity of their PBs to be lets say 20,000mAh. The actual output will be between 10% and 20% less than the 20,000mAh stated, with 20% less output being the norm. Batteries that output of 90% and above simply UNDERSTATE the actual capacity so it appears they have more efficient batteries. A 20,000mAh may have 22,000mAh actual capacity, so it may appear that it is 90% efficient. More capacity = more weight, unless they fudged the numbers. Also, check for pass-through charging. Many makers do not build that capability into their PBs to cut manufacturing costs. Pass-through charging means you can charge the PB and device(s) connected to the PB simultaneously.
First time watcher. Love everything about the video, but you change camera to fast, can't even read the names of the powerbanks. It gets tiring to the point of not wanting to watch anymore. Just something to think of if you want to improve retention. Otherwise great video!
Excellent and efficient information! Nicely done! I'm looking for a charging brick that is good for lightweight travel and even possibly to add to a small pack to walk the Camino. Do you have a recommendation for small and great and another recommendation for smallest and great? Thank you!

Did you take any time to actually read the instructions?
You mention at about the 7.35 minute mark that the button on the side next to the display doesn't do anything.
Section 3 of the instructions says that if you hold it for 3 seconds, it switches to trickle charging.
Thank you! I needed a new power bank and will be using your affiliate links and recommendations. Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you. It was difficult to look for an honest review of power banks around here!
My guy! Thank you! This is the kind of channel that can be a lifesaver
Such great information. Could explain how you get the temperature numbers for these items? I mean, 61ºF is the hottest you recorded. Is that above ambient? Again, terrific review as always.
The Anker 733 is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you!
So, came here for the power bank review - stayed for Monty!! This pup is the best 🐶 he deserves some tasty treats 😊
Is everyone going to ignore the bent iPad at 1:03???🤣
Right! 😂😂😂
Did you review the Promate Titan 130? It looks like a really good battery and the price is great. Can't find any reviews of it though.
Great review as always. Just what I was looking for
It's awful. He literally doesn't show any testing. It's just a trust me bro, i charged my iphone 2x with this power bank so it must be good.
Love anker. Its so reliable and holds full charge even after 6 months.
I bought the Ugreen 26000 and it’s fantastic. I had the Anker and it didn’t last a year.
Best content on RUclips as always! Thanks for your unbiased reviews :-)
I think the 25000mah+ battery packs are the way to go! I have this amazing cycnett one thats lasted me two years and still going strong
Love the commentary from the dog 🥰 Great review. Thank you 🙏
Thank you Monti, great review. Please ask your human if he would recommend any of these to charge a mirrorless camera. Thanks again
Great job brother love the doggy but even like the family grocery shopping comparison so real!!!!
really infromative and quantitative review on these powerbanks! I don't actually own one but I will be having a long trip soon so I thought it was time. Just wondering, are those temperatures really in F? those were running cooler than the average room temp here in the Philippines XD (almost 90 F)
Your reviews are actually good. You just earned a new sub
Thanks! Had this ugreen and Anker on my list for a while but couldn't choose.
i can't believe how patient your dog is
Wow. Your video editing skills definitely went up a couple of notches in my book. 😊
Bro your channel is a treasure
Great review as always - I take your recommendations as the best info around - also, you clearly don't skip arm day! :-)
Thank you for the fantastic review!
I was looking at the ugreen charger, and of course a bunch of adds for other powerbanks from their companu started to pop up... Any thought on the UGREEN Nexode Power Bank 25000mAh 200W?
I've got a INIU 10000mAh 22w and love it. It also has a light if needed :) Best £20 i spent.
We’re looking for the best travel power bank for long airline flights? Like 10hours+ will be watching alot of movies from our phones. Would like to charge up both of our iPhone 15s from the same bank. The smaller and lighter the better. Any top tier recommendations? Much appreciated 🙏
& keep up the great videos!
The think I like about Anker in general is that once fully charged they hold a charge for a very long time i.e. like months.
Constructive criticism, you should have shown your testing methodology and the tools used to do it. From a new viewer perspective this video is mostly just information supplied by the companies. On one you mention that you actually saw the 20kmAh capacity, but no mention for the others.
Which would you advise if you want to charge your iPhone and Apple Watch, preferably without needing a separate cable?
problem with #3, is the built in cable over time will wear out and is not replaceable and hence you'll have to throw it out when it gets frayed or cut.
Instant sub, amazing reviews in a river of toxic waste! Also for sure going to use your links
looks like recently a battery that's basically #5 and #3 combined has recently come to Canada
I’m surprised that the most recent would not bump some of these older banks he’s talking about
@@Paa375 maybe he didn't test that
@@drift3426 yeh probably
Keep it up brother stay safe and healthy very informative. Im a tech guy and also have multiple degrees in this field of interest.
I tune in for the great reviews. I keep coming back because of Monty!
Anker powerbank is awesome i have the previous model of the prime and it's been one of the best purchases I've done
Glad i bumped to your channel.
Just ordered the UGREEN 145w 25000mah version
Thank you
This is an amazing no-nonsense review, thank you so much! You just earned a new subscriber
One of your funniest videos ever. Im impressed at how many references you use. Very clever
First time watcher. Love everything about the video, but you change camera to fast, can't even read the names of the powerbanks. It gets tiring to the point of not wanting to watch anymore. Just something to think of if you want to improve retention. Otherwise great video!
Big fan of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Your video helped me decide which power bank to go for. Decided to buy Anker prime 20k. Quick question though, is it TSA approved for airplanes?
If you haven't got one yet check out the anker 737 24k
Ooooo about time! I was just searching for your latest power banks review and you have a new review coming up
Excellent and efficient information! Nicely done! I'm looking for a charging brick that is good for lightweight travel and even possibly to add to a small pack to walk the Camino. Do you have a recommendation for small and great and another recommendation for smallest and great? Thank you!
Another fantastic review, anker does a great job, but sometimes there is some nuances that are worth paying attention against as usual
While we are all waiting for you to get around to it, could you at least have a Monty montage?
agree
What is the best USB C hub that works with Android phones? For $100 🙏🙏
You do good reviews 👍🏾. A lot of detailed information. Thanks!
Monty is such a professional!
