Yes, Paul, we all know you wrote the song. Now just step back and let Art do his magic, like only he can, and give life to your words. Shine, Art, shine.
Thank you to Paul who wrote this wonderful classic, and thank you to Art for making this song beyond epic, just by his using voice. The two deserved that standing ovation.
@@krasnoz6 For me, this is one of Paul's best. He has written some amazing songs, too many to mention... But, this is my favourite. I love both these men. And yes, Art made this special with his humility and laid back demeanour. Still, I love when either one sings it, whether together or not.
Paul sings it like the spiritual he originally intended it to be. But with Art's soothing way of singing it became quite something else. Thus a classic song was born out of team work!
One of my absolute faves by these two--I have a special affinity for Art Garfunkel but the talent of both cannot be denied. Saw a Paul Simon concert years ago and would have to say it was the best concert I have ever seen.
I cried a river when I heard that song in the firts time. Is one of that songs that stay deep in your soul. Epic, fantastic, awesome, what more I could say?
@moonyac Agreed Paul is like "Yeah, I wrote the song, here it is...here I am" Artie is feeling the spirit, which causes the song to transcend it's lyrics. I usually turn the sound down while he's singing it. Like now. Simon and Garfunkel I love. Art Garfunkel I love. Paul Simon...there's not enough room for both my admiration and his ego.
Artie... You're just... Amazing... Really. For me, Paul is the most important in S&G, (writer, guitarist, singer), but Art, I'll always respect you, for this amazing voice...
half moon Paul Looks like a windmill out there flopping his arms around & jazzing up a song that should be sweet & soothing. Art’s original version is what made this song so famous so let him sing it the way we love it. Paul ruins it!! Sorry / but it’s true.
If you want to know how to ruin a great song, have Paul Simon sing it instead of Art Garfunkel. I know Simon wrote the song and I give him all the credit for the creation of this song but Art sings it much better
Yes, Paul, we all know you wrote the song. Now just step back and let Art do his magic, like only he can, and give life to your words. Shine, Art, shine.
Paul may have written it, but Artie OWNS this song.
It's his signature song
Thank you to Paul who wrote this wonderful classic, and thank you to Art for making this song beyond epic, just by his using voice. The two deserved that standing ovation.
Yes, one of the world's best duo 💕
I love Art's voice, real great voice never fades. Not to mention that he is such a humble person. He has that charisma, talent and humility in one.
Yes, all of that. And Paul Simon wrote this magical song for his lifelong friend.

That is Artie. Just as you see him. Relaxed and just let that beautiful voice amaze us. It's your song and always will be. Love you always.
I am glad Art sang this on the record.
Thanks to Paul's parents who made him and let he world take part of this wonderful man and the talent that he is.
Paul sings it like the spiritual he originally intended it to be. But with Art's soothing way of singing it became quite something else. Thus a classic song was born out of team work!
Many wonderful memories of my youth. God bless Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel
when they start singing together, goosebumps appear
Martin Van Stigt Thans 100%
We love you Arty!
Paul has stayed true to his word: Through his songs he has taken my part when pain is all around.
smooth as silk voice after all these years
i get tears listening to this...
Have a friend now who needs help. Fighting to do so.
This song fires my fight.
Thanks...
I love Art Garfunkel. Always have and always will.
One of my absolute faves by these two--I have a special affinity for Art Garfunkel but the talent of both cannot be denied. Saw a Paul Simon concert years ago and would have to say it was the best concert I have ever seen.
Great song out of two great artists!
This is so awesome. And Garfunkel, at his age, what a singer..... thanks for this clip without autotune...
arty stays true to the song , yet paul feels the need to prove himself somehow by jazzing his part up !!!!! love it none the less !!!!!!!!!!!!!
How I love these two. I really do love all the songs they do together. Absolutely brilliant.
I cried a river when I heard that song in the firts time. Is one of that songs that stay deep in your soul. Epic, fantastic, awesome, what more I could say?
Jorge Alberto Ramirez Aviles couldnt agree more
gives me the chills everytime !!!!! So glad i live to hear great musicians like this

WOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
I just love Paul’s version of the song too. He knows how to sing gospel for sure.

The ending is always epic..
Parece que o tempo os deixou melhores ainda. Amoooooooo demais.
This song takes me back to when I was a newly wed in the Army!! Many Memories!
Simplesmente lindo.
Goosebumps!!!
A very remarkable duo since then,
fair play to art here how old is he here? and he hits that last note! amazing
so great song...
Браво, маэстро гении!!!
I wish I could just see them in concert :(
Que du bonheur!Magnifique..

superb...
Great!
@SunnySandyEggo thank you for that answer, it looked like Randy Jackson, but I think you're right!
I know it's Paul's song but he should have let Art sing the whole thing.
Agree
I love them both... Art and his awesome smoother voice, was made for this song. But, seeking them both signing it together is awesome too.
Inoubliable
@sarahmcmitch It's true. Except Garfunkel, "nobody sang this as good as Elvis".
Good tip, thanks!
paul has allways said this is arty's song so why highjack it ?
half moon Paul

once upon a time.................................
boooooooom
check out the Bass Player, is that Randy from American Idol?
r.e.p mom i love you
Beautiful! ... [looks like Clifford Carter on the piano?]
Sail on silver bird.
punnet butter and jam
Its seems you forgot the audio.
Sad to report, but I can barely hear this.
I'm sorry but Paul should have stayed quite. Artie always sings this song beautifully!!! He doesn't need paul
Art Garfunkel could have easily been mistaken for Larry Fine.
@roysrod No. That's Colin Powell.
If you want to know how to ruin a great song, have Paul Simon sing it instead of Art Garfunkel. I know Simon wrote the song and I give him all the credit for the creation of this song but Art sings it much better
kellykinsellives Paul doesn't sing it well in a ballady version like this, but he does great in the gospel styled version in Live Rhymin.
I think the point is to enjoy the partnership
How do you mean?
Art sans les cheveux a un petit air de Terence Hill
Difficult to choose between Elvis Presley and Simon and Garfunkel, who sing better and with more passion this song...
looks like a garfunkel
personally, Art sounded much better than Paul
TwoConfusedVikings1 Art's voice has deteriorated considerably compared to Paul though. Paul in 2017 still kinda sound like he did years ago.
Not really. Garfunkel can still sing hes just old
Paul wrote this song for Art. It was meant for his tenor voice. No one could ever match it.
The pianist plays some confusing chord changes and seems uncomfortable. Without him, this performance would have been much more confident for Art.
@zapple100 ah but he's got too much of an ego for that. why do you think they split up?
Piano was more than a little sketchy, otherwise amazing performance
Sounds like the pianist was playing this with his pe-a-nis :s that joke didn't work did it?!?
No you shut your mouth sir. The song needs them both!!!!
@rjones6801 why are you afraid of other peoples opinions ?
wow the pianist is really horrible in this
Not a good version.
