- To say that Chef Wylie DuFresne's WD-50 was way ahead of its time would be a serious understatement. Opened on a bleak stretch of Clinton Street in 2003 on the far eastern reaches of the Lower East Side, it was an incubator for Modernist Cuisine and a magnet for NYC kitchen talent. It received a Michelin Star in 2006 and made San Pelligrino's global Best 50 list as well. In 2014 the restaurant closed as the building was demolished to make way for construction of new luxury apartments. And so goes NYC.
Thank you Mr. Colameco! Excellent show! I truly enjoy these "vintage" episodes! What a wonderful era of NYC restaurant greatness!

😎 I remember seeing this episode on tv. Your
show is still one of the best about food, restaurants, chefs and cooks. Watched your show growing up locally on PBS WHYY 12 Philadelphia.
