    underrated class, what you said about leaving combat and retriggering the surprised is an awesome idea. your build guides are the best on youtube

    Just wanted to thank you for all of these build ideas. I used your one for ice sorcerer and really loved it. Although multi classing would be more powerful here, I don’t see Astarion as anything other than a rogue. So I’m glad to see you’ve kept him as one all 12 levels. Going to Withers to respec him right now, excited to try it out!

      Hey I’m so glad you find them useful! This means a lot to hear! For some builds I try to keep it a strict 12 levels since some people prefer that. Multiclassing in gloomstalker Ranger is a good choice too if you want the extra attack! Thanks for the kind comment

    I love your videos but was wondering if you can show some combat with the builds?

    • @JasonDunna
      @JasonDunna  3 месяца назад +10

      I always struggle with including combat since you only get 1 turn per character. I tried including combat in one of my build guides before and the view retention was terrible for the video sadly. But I’ll try and find a way that works! I wish there were dummies at camp that wouldn’t aggro scratch haha

      @@JasonDunnaI think I’m having that issue as well as the combat makes the video way longer. I was thinking off cutting it somehow where certain abilities are showcased instead of an actual fight with multiple rounds of combat. With the save file I use, there’s tooooons of companions that aggro cuz I test vs Aylin because when she dies she comes back to life and isn’t mad.

    • @JasonDunna
      @JasonDunna  3 месяца назад +4

      @@Quantum_Bluntz Thanks for chiming in! You see it from the creator side. It’s a tricky issue because you can only show one action at a time and then your three other companions go, and then the enemy. It’s not the easiest thing to implement without spending another 30 minutes filming the particular build doing a couple actions.
      I do plan on doing combat guides at some point for these builds but it’s a matter of time for me 😅 I work two jobs and gave up my social life for content creation so I try my best! I did notice that the video I added combat too had half the retention that a normal guide would have so I assumed people didn’t want to see it combined

      @Quantum_Bluntz 3 месяца назад +4

      @@JasonDunnai never thought about combat guides lol that’s pretty genius. But yeah, I’ve noticed if it goes over 30min it’s too long or something. And 60 min is even worse. But when you have to explain each level, feats, abilities, suggested gear, etc that alone is a lot. Adding in combat I think would be cool for showing off 4 builds simultaneously so you can take advantage of showing each turn. Maybe like ideal team compositions? That way one video does 4 things.

      @@Quantum_Bluntz That is a great idea man thanks so much for sharing that! It really is about the party composition. Lately I have been running a Sorcerer, Cleric, Bard and Spore Druid. All with dips for heavy armor/utility.
      Turn 1: Create water + chain lightning and crowd control.
      Turn 2:Finish combat encounter

    I would take Sharpshooter at level 4 and rush to get the risky ring. This is a way more substantial damage increase than 2+ dex and the lower accuracy can be negated.
    Other than that, going more than 3 levels into Rouge is also not really my cup of tea 😅

    • @JasonDunna
      @JasonDunna  Месяц назад +1

      I only do level 3 assassin most times, I just went this way since some people want builds all the way to level 12 with no multiclassing so I try to find combinations that work

      @@Twin2kaay7 I love the risky ring! Setting up sneak attacks for free every turn is great. With the assassin you can disengage or drink an invisibility potion and escape and restart combat anytime you feel like it so

    To be fair, taking any point in rouge more than 3 level is not good. After you get sub class as assasin, its way better if you change to gloom stalker ranger or sword bard.

    they need to add more gear for wizards and rogue and not copy and paste armor but ofc they wont :( it was a problem in dos2 i dont like the wizard gear at all

    • @JasonDunna
      @JasonDunna  3 месяца назад +3

      Yeah sorcerer / warlock get some great options but the wizard and rogue don’t have many. This is one of the few rogue armor and it only adds +3 to stealth which isn’t fantastic by any means. This class can abuse disengage and surprise targets over and over again which is cool but I agree there should have been more rogue specific gear!
