Tangents' Aurelio Voltaire video interview

- Aurelio Voltaire is a musician, an animator, an author and so much more. His music is very versatile and can be appreciated by goths to sci-fi fans. He's most commonly known for his song "Brains" from Cartoon Network's "Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy." Recently he has worked on a RUclips web series called "Gothic Homemaking." It is a fun show that teaches how to make DIY gothic furniture and decor. His tips and tricks are creative and helpful for those interested in converting their homes into a creepy gothic lair. On June 2-4, Voltaire was at ConCarolinas as the musical guest of honor. He played set's both Friday and Saturday night. I caught up with him, and got to ask him some questions!

I'm not Hispanic, nor am I fluent in Spanish, but I'm totally here for an entirely Spanish Goth album. :D
I appreciate Voltaire's fashion style a lot. He doesn't often wear much or any makeup (besides shows) and his wardrobe is more akin to formal dressware than the exotic and/or eccentric stuff you see goths frequently portrayed as wearing. There's a kind of class to Voltaire that you just can't get otherwise.
I love how he basically looks like one of those vampire cartoon villains complete with ears teeth and beard.
Sooo jealous! He is really an awesome human being and i'd love to just hang with him, have a drink etc...play magic, D&D, whatever.

I hugged him 2 different times at 2 different shows...he tweaked my nipples with a wrench he grabbed from behind the bar...it was my birthday that day...and he sang to me "Happy Birthday, My Olde Friend" before the album was even released...it was one of the best nights ever....Love Voltaire..
I loved Gothic homemaking it was hilarious and quite honestly a breath of fresh air - loved it!
So awesome Voltaire stays true to what he always does- music. Pretty much have loved his music since I was a teen!

I enjoyed hearing the stories where Voltaire came near death reminded of my experience in which I went 50' off a bank and fell 30' working on church. I can relate and see life with different eyes.

Ok but like why does he love the same stuff as me!!! I died when he said he looked up to David Bowie and liked playing "As the World Falls Down"...my heart melted!!! He's so chill too and seems like such a genuine guy!! What a sweetie
