From Superbooth 2024 DELIA is Melburne Instruments latest synth. The Nina was a desktop fuly analog synth, this one is a hybrid with keys.
Just a quick demo from Superbooth, but if I can get my hands on one :).
FYI I spoke with Signal Sounds - the distributor - while I was there so hopefully we can sort something soon.

Thanks Steve! Remember to tremble the Gong People when you boff the noo trumpet.
My god, WANT!
Excellent synth from an excellent company, thx Stars,
Motorized knobs moving to their actual position with preset changes are just… AAAARGHHH, I WANT IT!!!
Sounds and looks fantastic, my personal favorite from the show. Thanks for the coverage, Starsky!
🔥fantastic synth!
Kind of a tough choice between this and Nina, and I wish they had a clear description of how they compare. 6-voice poly for this vs 12 for Nina, but they say (expandable to 12 with filter option, but I don’t think that’s true 12 voice). I’d like to know a little more about what that means.
Also, they say Delia has similar modulation options to Nina, with the addition of a "MOD Mode" for motorized modulation matrix control. Nina has 16 sources to 27 destinations, while Delia has 20 sources to 40 destinations. Nina is 4 part multi-timbral but Delia is only 2 part. Nina is MPE compatible and even has banks of MPE patches, but I did not see mention of that with Delia.
Delia has 2 virtual analog oscillators, a wave table oscillator and a noise oscillator, so they say it has 4 oscillators. Nina has 2 real analog oscillators and the wave table oscillator. It also has noise but that’s not listed as an oscillator so they say it has 3 oscillators instead of 4. I think it’s the same though. So, if you count the noise as an oscillator then they are equal, both with 4?
And then there are the filters. Delia has a digitally simulated high-pass filter and a real analog low-pass filter, while Nina has only the analog low-pass filter. Could they firmware in a high pass and dual independent resonance for Nina?
I own and love the Nina. This new “more affordable” option that has keys and different features looks cool. I just wish they would be clearer about how they describe things. And, wouldn’t it be nice if you could poly-chain Delia to Nina? :)
Wow, that’s clever
Starsky thanks you for all amazing videos!! This synth is a lot better than I expected! 👏👏
You going to make a review of the new update of Groove synthesis 3 wave? The sample function it’s a game changer.. thank you for all your work 🙏
Definitely … and maybe this if I can get hold of one.
The sounds are lovely but the one at 2:20 is just my thing. Saw this and was very interested, but didn't get a chance to play.
Very cool, I had a Yamaha Portastudio back in the 2000's, an AW2816, which had motorised faders, looked great when they moved on their own like this synth. Surprised the idea of motorised pots/faders didn't really catch on.
Yeah it’s weird they’re not more popular.
@@StarskyCarr Cost, probably?
@@chaosme1ster maybe but I looked for motorised potentiometers and they seem to be just over £10 each retail. That would add £200 ish so possibly cost - I think it maybe more about the complexity of making sure it works as unit should.
@@StarskyCarr Hmm... you actually did your research. Maybe I should try that one day, before just shouting something. Now there's a concept… 😅
@@chaosme1ster😂😂
At 4:26 I got my credit card out 😀👍
The all red buttons are a bit overwhelming. Otherwise a nice synth!
Starsky, you know better than to call pots faders
Haha it’s been a long day! You’re quite right 😂
that kind of stuff happens when you smoke too much fader 🤷♂
Are you throwing shade, or just a little EQ?
Calling them pots is bad enough. They are potentiometers. And potentiometers can be faders as well as rotary. 😁
@@SpeccyMan well thats exactly where my brain must have been!! ;)
Can see no real benefit to the motorised controls. I want one!
